JQuery :: Function To Duplicate Form Elements With A Little Html-code Surrounding Input Fields
Jan 28, 2011
I made this function to duplicate form elements with a little html-code surrounding the input fields. First i clone the html of the first child found (always gets rendered by php). Then, everytime the add-button is pushed, i append a cloned piece of that stored html. It's working fine except for the delete button.
It's seems that whenever a cloned html is removed, the other cloned elements aren't recognized anymore by the delete buttons (although the delete buttons are in them)

For some reason my script only works when I have at lease two checkboxes. To simulate the problem just run it once with two html input checkbox elements
-> check one checkbox and press submit -> it works
-> Now remove one input checkbox field and check the remaining checkbox & submit -> Bamm doesn't work...

There are two input fields in a form, but only one of them is required, they are not required at the same time. Either A or B is required. ( A is required OR B is required). In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time. How to implement this constraint in Jquery form validation?

I am trying to make a gui for clients to edit a php page that displays html and javascript.
I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.
Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?
It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.
Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?

I have the following HTML within a form
<!-- height -->
<label for="height">
Height (cm)
</label>
[Code].....
I suppose I should somehow loop through all the labels, and for each find the next input. Then make a selection of this union and apply a wrapAll('<div class='field'>) But how exactly do I do this using jQuery manipulators?

I have been looking for the past 2 days for a script that I can add and delete table rows.
I have found a lot but so far all of them add an input field but I desperatly need a textarea or ideally a section of input fields.
I have tried to change the code from input to text area but none of them worked.
Have you come across to a similar script.
I would appreciate any contributions.
What I am trying to do is a page where the user will add their employees details so we can order business cards for them. So I have fileds such as, Name, Tel Num, Email, Cell etc.

I am having some jQuery troubles whereby I have some jQuery that toggles an 'Other' HTML input field and associated label when a user selects the value Other from a HTML select drop down. I have this working for one field but the application I am building has increased in scope whereby there may be multiple instances of members on one page so the Other option will be there multiple times. At the moment if a user selects Other from one drop down all Other input fields show. How do I make this exclusive without repeating the jQuery for the separate instances?
// Show/Hide 'Other'
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.jOther').hide();
$('.jTitle').change(function() {
var $index = $('.jTitle').index(this);
alert($index);
if($('.jTitle').val() != 'Other') {
$('.jOther').hide();
} else {
$('.jOther').show();
window.location.hash = 'Other' + $index;
}});
});
<td>
<select id="title" class="inlineSpace jTitle">
<option value="Please select">Please select...</option>
<option value="Mr">Mr</option>
<option value="Mrs">Mrs</option>
<option value="Ms">Ms</option>
<option value="Miss">Miss</option>
<option value="Dr">Dr</option>
<option value="Other">Other</option>
</select>
<label for="other" class="inlineSpace jOther">Other</label>
<input type="text" class="text jOther" name="other" id="other" maxlength="6" />
</td>

I have a form that has a reset button, and when it's closed, the form is reset. However, at least in testing on my own machine, I notice that the form fields are remembering past input (on Firefox 4 anyway). Once this goes public, I don't want the form remembering anything in case the website is viewed on a public machine. How can I keep the form fields from remembering any past input?

Ok so the problem is when I mouse over the left nav menu all is great, when I mouse over the newly created DHTML menu in the middle the seperators(black before mouse over of the DHTML menu) disapear on the left nav menu and there is now white space surrounding the buttons on the left nave menu. IF you switch to full screen mode(F11 I think) I can see the actual graphic on the left nav menu changing and that is what is causing this, but I cant find it in the code.
I have narrowed it down to my framework.js script but no idea where it is within this code. I can post that code in here and maybe you can see what I mean and I will attach a screen shot of the problem.

I am using the $(load) function to populate a div in my HTML with form. The code snippets look something like this.
<html>
...
...
<div id="formArea"></div>
...
...
</html>
$('#formArea').load('content/myForm.txt');
The form loads fine, but the input controls no longer work once the form is loaded using this AJAX technique.

I am not new to jQuery but I just want to ask the best way to approach this. Basically I have a textfield in which the user is going to type in a number (for example 20) and after this textfield lose focus jQuery will be triggered to create whatever number of textfields the user put before (in this case 20).
So, to illustrate: How many users do you have: [ 2 ](and after the field above lose focus, the below will be generated)
Fullname: [ ]

I have a set of input fields that can be dynamically duplicated/cloned or removed and submitted. I'm looking for a ways to configure the form for easy processing without having to loop through each input field inside the divs:

I am calling 2 scripts, that are variations of the same script, and am getting unwanted duplicate output into the other div (place-holder) on an html page. I thought it was a scope issue, but that doesn't seem to make sense. The page is: [URL]
features.js
$(document).ready(function() {
$.get('xml/features.xml', function(f) {
$('#y-place-holder').empty();
$('#y-place-holder').append('<dl class="feature" />');
$('feature', f).each(function() {
var $feature = $(this);
var fimageurl = $feature.attr('imageurl');
var fseries = $feature.attr("series");
var ftitle = $feature.attr("title");
var fdates1 = $feature.find('dates1').text();
var fdescription = $feature.find('description').text();
var ffeature = '';
ffeature = '<dd>'; .....

I am writing a ASP.NET UserControl and I am trying to incorporate JQuery into this. The control is a simple form with a few input fields (text, checkbox, select, radio). The first element in the form is a checkbox. Upon clicking this checkbox I want the all the input elements in the form (except the checkbox control itself) to be enable/disable. I tried writing some of this code but my solution was not getting me anywhere. Below is the ASP.NET form code.

I already make this line of code
$('#bank').click(function(event){
// request form
$('#middle').load('form/bank.html');
$('#butang').click(function(){
[Code].....
Which means, once after a link namely as "bank" is clicked,then it will extract the bank.html contentinto the middle div. And I already put a button ID named as "butang" over that bank.html. But why after the content is nicely rendered, I can't obtain the alert?
Hmmm... even when I clicking, clicking, and clicking many times at the button named as "butang", can not also give me an alert. How could I apply a jquery into a new html rendered as it firstly it's not there?

I'm trying to duplicate some PHP code in JS, but keep running into "invalid quantifier" errors for regular expressions.Here's an example of what I'm working with:
Code JavaScript:
Â
var elementId = 'ipaddress';
var regexsplice_IP_ADDRESS = '(?:[0-9]{1,3}.[0-9]{1,3}+.[0-9]{1,3}+.[0-9]{1,3}+)';
if(!RegExp(regexsplice_IP_ADDRESS).test(elementId.value))){
[code].....
1) do I need to double up on the backslashes within a string using single quotes on characters that are seen as escape characters in regex, but not javascript?
2) do I need to start and end the string with a special character, like I would with preg_match in PHP?
3) To use the RegExp() function to prepare a regular express created from a string...can I use it like in the example above? Or do I have to use a separate delcaration like: var theregex = new RexExp(regexsplice_IP_ADDRESS);
