View 1 RepliesThere are two input fields in a form, but only one of them is required, they are not required at the same time. Either A or B is required. ( A is required OR B is required). In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time. How to implement this constraint in Jquery form validation?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI've created a admin center, that has two seperate login permissions. Admin which can edit listings, etc... and Viewer which can only view listings, and edit 1 or 2 of the listings details and not all of them like the admin. I've seen web-sites where certain text input fields are sort of Grayed out, not allowing for user to type, click in or change anything in that field. Sort of like the html text input field has been or is disabled. How can I get certain html text input fields to appear disabled, and the text that's inside un-editable or unchange-able?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a form that has a reset button, and when it's closed, the form is reset. However, at least in testing on my own machine, I notice that the form fields are remembering past input (on Firefox 4 anyway). Once this goes public, I don't want the form remembering anything in case the website is viewed on a public machine. How can I keep the form fields from remembering any past input?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been looking for the past 2 days for a script that I can add and delete table rows.
I have found a lot but so far all of them add an input field but I desperatly need a textarea or ideally a section of input fields.
I have tried to change the code from input to text area but none of them worked.
Have you come across to a similar script.
I would appreciate any contributions.
What I am trying to do is a page where the user will add their employees details so we can order business cards for them. So I have fileds such as, Name, Tel Num, Email, Cell etc.
I have this order form where the customers can change the quantity by intput in a text field.I would like to have the text field changed with select fields, but doing so in the form, the script is not doing anymore.Can anyone have a look and tell me what to change in the scritp to accept select fields in place of the text fields.

It is a photo and text post form. The photo and only first letter of text are posting to database. I am using Jqtouch, jquery, and phonegap.

Here is my java script:
It's possible to declare inbut fields outside of a form, is it possible
to post these values to the server? E.g. attach them to the posted form?
-i have two drop down menus. -each drop down menu has its on event handler "onchange=doSomething()"
-i want to call yet another eventhandler to the same drop down menus "onchange=doMath()"
my question is, can a drop down menu perform two different events?
of should i combine these functions. i tried combining them, and i lost the purpose of both functions.
how to clear all input fields after submitting data?
[Code].....
i always find everyday on how can i clear the input fields after submitting on it.
So I am trying to validate many input fields inside a form before I send it off to mysql.
The page link is: [URL]
I am 99% sure it a JavaScript issue and I am a beginner with JS. My JS code is as follows:
function validate(form)
{
//Pull values from form
var email = form.user_email.value;
var confEmail = form.conf_email.value;
[Code]....
I'm trying to change the color of the labels according to what input field is wrong. It seems to loop through and keep my labels black. It shows the email red for a millisecond though.
I have one form on a page with 'n' text input fields grouped in blocks of the same input fields. Something like this:
<div id="block1">
name_1
lastname_1
address_1
phone_1
...
</div>
<div id="block2">
name_2
lastname_2
address_2
phone_2
...
</div>
...
The number of fields for each block varies because the page is constructed by a server function. What I want to implement is move up and a move down buttons on each block to move what the user has entered in say, block 4, to block 3 (and move the block 3 contents to block 4). And the contrary too.
Given a drop down list such as:
Code:
<SELECT NAME=sections >
<OPTION>Merge</OPTION>
<OPTION>Nuke</OPTION>
<OPTION>Merge & Nuke</OPTION>
</SELECT>
If one selects Merge, then i want another form displayed with input fileds etc.
Can anyone show a script (i.e. javascript) that does just that or care for a example?
I'm now working on kind of invoice form which in it the user can add as much input field as he wants.
The problem is that after adding a new input field - the content in the other fields is deleted.
Code:
I have a form that collects information about up to 5 items. I would
like the user to be able to select from a drop down menu how many items
for which they want to compare information, and then have the form
change the number of input fields accordingly.
In other words, if the user selects enter info for 3 items, then input
fields for only 3 items are shown, if they change it to 4 items, then a
fourth column shows up in the table with the appropriate input fields.
I am not new to jQuery but I just want to ask the best way to approach this. Basically I have a textfield in which the user is going to type in a number (for example 20) and after this textfield lose focus jQuery will be triggered to create whatever number of textfields the user put before (in this case 20).
So, to illustrate: How many users do you have: [ 2 ](and after the field above lose focus, the below will be generated)
Fullname: [ ]

I have a set of input fields that can be dynamically duplicated/cloned or removed and submitted. I'm looking for a ways to configure the form for easy processing without having to loop through each input field inside the divs:
<form action="dummy.php" method="post">
<div id="customer1">
Name: <input type="text" name="name1">
[code]....
I've created two form fields (username, password).When a user comes to the page, the word "Username" is shown in the first form field. The word "Password" is shown in the second field. When a user clicks inside the field, the word inside the field erases automatically, allowing them to type in their username. Everything above is working, except I'm running into some problems.
1st: I need to figure out a way to include an if statement, that displays "Username" once again, if they did not type anything in the username field, and they clicked outside of the field. This will be the case for the Password field as well.
2nd: If a user types in their username in the username field, then types in their password, but clicks on the Username field once again to fix a typo, it completely erases their username from the field, making them have to type it all again.
I'm a absolute beginner in Javascript But have manage to create a script that disable one textfield when a checkbox is checked.
Code:
function disableTextField(form) {
if (document.getElementById("notDone").checked == true) {
[code].....
I have a small shopping card which has text fields named
quantity_4, quantity_10... (quantity_{orderid_here})
Customer can update quantity fields and then update form by clicking on update button. But then I wanna read all quantity fields, but there are more fields than only quantity.
So it should be something like this I think
for (i=0;i<this.form.items.count-1;i++){
myfield=this.form.items(i)
if insrt(myfield.name with "quantity_")
check every char at myfield.value
}
I am so bad at javascripting so 2 main things i need
to get collection of formfields(how?) and then compare fieldname with a string(how?)
Jqtransform Firefox Input Problem Basic problem is the text inside of the form input is lower than it should be.

Ive been making a script for an order form, originally i had a drop down list of quantities, but having orders something of more than 500 leaflets at a time, is not good on a quantity list, the script below is what i have so far but cant understand why the sub total field at the bottom wont update, it worked fine with the list/menu.

I want to do is add the values of seven text fields on a form and pop that value to an eighth field. I thought the code below would work, but I get "NaN" on the sum field.
Code:
function addHazWaste() {
document.getElementById('HazardousWaste').value = 0;
var HazWasteTotal = 0;
var HazWaste1 = 0;
var HazWaste2 = 0;
var HazWaste3 = 0;
var HazWaste4 = 0;
var HazWaste5 = 0;
var HazWaste6 = 0;
var HazWaste7 = 0;
HazWaste1 = parseInt(document.getElementById('HazardousWasteSentToLandfill').value,10);
HazWaste2 = parseInt(document.getElementById('HazardousWasteSentToWasteToEnergy').value,10);
HazWaste3 = parseInt(document.getElementById('HazardousWasteIncinerated').value,10);
HazWaste4 = parseInt(document.getElementById('HazardousWasteRecycled').value,10);
HazWaste5 = parseInt(document.getElementById('HazardousWasteReused').value,10);
HazWaste6 = parseInt(document.getElementById('BiohazardousWasteSentToLandfill').value,10);
HazWaste7 = parseInt(document.getElementById('BiohazardousWasteIncinerated').value,10);
HazWasteTotal = HazWaste1 + HazWaste2 + HazWaste3 + HazWaste4 + HazWaste5 + HazWaste6 + HazWaste7;
document.getElementById('HazardousWaste').value = HazWasteTotal;
}
If I run a separate function that just sets all form field values to zero (including the first line of this function). The summing works!!! Why won't it work the way I wrote it??? It won't work if I set the default value for the sum field to zero, either...
