Create A Single Report From Multiple Forms On Separate Pages
May 18, 2011
I have made a site with 5 pages, each page contains a form. Each form is a checklist with a dropdown to choose an answer for each individual item.
Here is a same of the form code:
I am trying to write a script that will be called with onclick event from the "Next" button. This script will collect all the "notOK" option value/names and send them to a document, concatenating the info from the next forms until a single report is created with a list of all the "notOK" values. One the user gets to the end of the last form, there will be a submit button which sends the entire report to a specific email address.
Here is the script I have so far, which pulls the "notOK" values for each page:
This piece of code works great for an individual page, but I need to expand it to send the data to a report instead of window.alert, and I need to add some way of concatenating the data from each form to a single page, doc, etc.
It doesn't appear to be possible to validate multiple forms on a pages that only has a single <form> tag, using the JQuery Validation Plugin offered by Jörn Zaefferer. The reason I need to do this is because my pages are created with ASP.NET whose architecture generally calls for a single page-wide <form> tag. In my designs, I'd like to submit my data using a custom ajax call to a web-method, and link it to a click event on a button.
Below is an example: <! DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTDXHTML1.0Transitional//EN" "[URL]" > < html xmlns = "[URL]" > .....
I'm not sure that I fully understand the documentation for the Validation plugin, but it doesn't seem like this is possible, as the plugin seems to need a <form> for each form.
I have a JSP page with several forms on it. Some of these forms are generated dynamically, and each of them submits some information to a database.
Handling one form is easy, as I can simply make the form post to itself, and handle the data using a single bean. Since I have multiple forms, I now have a problem. Several of the forms on the page handle the same type of data (same input names), and a 'setproperty *' call for each of the form beans would change data in several beasn, not just the form/bean that sent the data.
I am attempting to write a separate JSP with a single bean that handles a form submission. However, I'm not sure how to make this page go back to the referring page from which the data was submitted.
I have a php page with java script embed in it, i have 3 forms in a single page ... namely form1, form2, form3 . form 1 and form2 have a text box , these text boxes get input from users. Now my task is to get the value of these 2 tex boxes in form3 when the user click the submit button, so that i pass the values in those text boxes to next page for calculation.
I tried the following code in form3 but it result in vain :
I have several forms on a page, one for each "product". Each form is essentially a row with product information. I have a "Add to Cart" button. Now, I want this to work so that when you add a product to the cart, it does it without refreshing the page (AJAX?)
I found this [url] and it works to an extent... it updates the DIV for the first product only (and understandably)
I am having trouble creating two slideshows on a single page. I know that there is a problem of one slideshow overriding the other, but I can't figure out what to change or where in order to make both functional. I've seen other posts related to this, but those I've tried don't work for me. Here's my partial code...I only included the parts I think are necessary.
<script language="JavaScript1.1"> var slideimages=new Array() var slidelinks=new Array() function slideshowimages(){ for (i=0;i<slideshowimages.arguments.length;i++){ slideimages[i]=new Image() slideimages[i].src=slideshowimages.arguments[i] } } .....
I have several forms on the same page that need to use the datepicker plug-in. I have datepicker working PERFECTLY on one form. Now I need to add other forms on the page. I haven't been able to get two datepickers working on the same page nor can I find any documentation on whether it's possible. What do I have to do to get two datepickers working in two separate forms on the same page?
I am creating a form to enable advertisers to create listings on an accommodation directory site. One of the form fields is a drop down with the following optionshotelguestHouseselfCateringinnholidayParkcampingThe top part of my form is the same for all these accommodation types. However I need to include a section specific to the accommodation type. This section will include groups of radio buttons and checkboxes allowing the advertiser to choose which facilities/amenities are available. For exampleA hotel may have 24 room service campsite may have a shop on siteI was planning to have a separate div for each of the accommodation specific sections and toggling the display based on the choice of the accommodation type from a drop down list.I have just had a horrible thought that it may be possible if javascript was not enabled that either none of the sections would be displayed or even worse all of them at once.
I am a novice/moderate html programmer and I wonder how to tell the browser from which start point and to which end point in the text will each page be printed.
In other words, I have a single html text that contains different informations that are displayed alltogether in the same browser. When I print this page, the browser should put each different subject in a separate page and not having it all mixed up. Is it possible? How should i do it?
I have a web page with two forms. I would like to click on a button and email both forms, one after the other to two different email addresses. I am new to jquery and I can't figure out the syntax but my attempt is below. I can do this with javascript but it only works in IE and FireFox but not in Chrome.
I have a single form on a single page with some js that is supposed to take the first and last name entered and add them to the select list. There seems to be some kind of communication stop between the js and html, because nothing happening.
Here is the code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> /* <[CDATA[ */ function Member (){ this.lastName = ""; this.firstName = ""; this.position = ""; this.phone = ""; this.email = ""; .....
I'm trying to search for the correct code to make my form work. I have 3 select boxes - one with 2 options, one with 8 options, and the last with 2 options... All of this adds up to 32 different url paths. Can anyone tell me how to get this done? This is what I have so far: (and yea, I know I suck... I honestly have absolutely NO clue)
I am trying to change each forms .submit function like so (below) but each submit button gets the function of the last iteration. I want each form to have a different submit function without using onclick events.
var x = document.getElementsByTagName("form"); for(i=0; i < x.length; i++){ var ele = x[i].elements;[code].....
I am new to Javascript and am trying to add some functionality to a website but have come across a problem when trying to utilise two seperate Javascript onloads events. I have a text scroller to display the latest news and I also have a javascript lightbox gallery. Both of these events work perfectly on their own but when I try to include both on one page only one of the events is executed. My code is displayed below:
I have to create a dynamic HTML page that actually contains two separate HTML forms. Can anyone tell me how can I create two forms in a single HTML page.
I am trying to create a form (a quiz to be exact) and I know how to create one in php. The only problem with this is that the location that I am planning on installing the quiz does not allow me php access, a cgi-bin or even internet access . Iam able to use html pages from a location stored on the desktop or in a network folder.
My idea is to have the first page be the actual quiz with the users selecting the answers. The following page (whether its a popup, text file, or a new page) would be where the answers are displayed and then ultimately printed to paper. Most of the scripts that I have found that would do something similar are email style scripts (I am unable to use this method)
This is what I have in php and is the type of format I am looking for in javascript. (I'm not very proficient in php as I just started and I have no clue about javascript) Code:
I would like to create different pages with dynamic tab titles. I would also like to have multiple level of tab. Currenlty I tried the kooltabs but I have problem for instance my last tab is having the final submit button and when my first tab is having the error I can show the contents of the first tab but the tab is not highlighted to reflect its content. What I am trying to do is create a CV where you turn the pages without reloading the web page. I have successfully done this using the code above but the links don't work in Internet Explorer until I have gone through all the pages. Netscape and Opera Works Fine!
The above consists of two pages for convience but my final site will be approx 6 to 7 pages long.
Can anybody help get the links working on loading up 1st time without having to go through all the pages or is there a bug with IE?
i have a developed some static pages (around 140) of them which basically is used like a quesstionare or a workflow. If the user answers yes or no then another page opens up bases on the input given by the user.
Now my people want just a single page instead of all the 140 since it takes a lot of space on the server. presently this is still not hosted on the server. Is it possible to embed all of them into one page by writing different functions? i did try and it gives me the next questions by creating a dynamic page but when the yes and no button do not populate. is it possible?
How would I seperate a text string such that it would appear on seperate lines ie. Initial Input: StrMsg = "This is an example of a string that will appear on seperate lines" "Hoping that this fully works, there will be no errors and all will be well" "This is the last line of text."
I am creating a website that uses columns (example) and I would like to be able to click left and right buttons to scroll horizontally one column at a time without the header and footer scrolling with the content.
I have tried using Scrollable and JCarousel but both require you to scroll through a set of list items. I need to be able to scroll 320px at a time. Is this possible?
I've recently begun this week going through tutorials to learn some jQuery. My whole motivation was to create little windows that aren't entire new pop up pages. Think of being on facebook, going through some pictures and clicking the "Share" button. It's a new window that pops up but not an entirely new page if that makes sense.Unfortunately the w3schools tutorial didn't really point me in a direction to be able to do this. Any ideas on where to learn it?My real intentions are to learn how to do something like the pop up that you see when you first load this page:
