AJAX :: Update Part Of Page After Insert Data In Same Page
May 21, 2009
I am currently programming Script Adds data to the database but if i want to Shown the data that have been added Requires refresh the page to show the Data that have been added . and I do not want this method.I want to when adding data to show updates as soon as the addition of data.This can be done by Ajax , and An example of this method used Google Gmail.
I have a form which goes to my insert page which inserts the data into the table. Except I didn't want to do a redirect to another page so I thought I would do an Ajax call. Both pages work until I change it to an ajax call.
I am pretty certain that it is because I took out the <form action="insert.php"> because otherwise the page would redirect but if that is the case I don't know my way around it and if it isn't the problem I'm not sure what is.
I am current building an information database for the company I work at...basically just a place for employees to get information and answers from. It is all hosted on a local server and I can only use javascript, html, and css. I've got everything made there is just one thing i want to add to it. Basically an "alerts and updates" page that only some people can edit without having to know html so if im not there they can post important updates. No computers have access to the internet so I did try some rich text editors but none of them worked. The layout I'm going for is kind of like this.
Alerts and Updates Click on links to show updates: update 1 * update 2 * update 3 * update 4 Stuff goes in the update [edit button] You click edit it prompts you to login, bring up something to edit the text in that specific update you hit submit and it changes the info that was on there. The update links are linked to a script I wrote that just display the info below so when the page loads you see whats in update 1 then you click update and it changes the content to the next one.
i was using $.ajax method to get my ajax page on my main page,which is working great.But now if i have links in that ajax page then i can't open them in that same div,the links are opening in new window,but i want to open in same part,i tried google it and then found, i have to use iframe instead of div.how to do with only use jquery and div.
I am using this to update the page with new content every 60 seconds
Code:
$(document).ready(function() { var refreshId = setInterval(function() { $('#contents').load('src.php');
[code]...
What I am trying to do is, I want to load the page only if src.php has new contents, I tried this, but now luck
Code:
$(document).ready(function() { var refreshId = setInterval(function() { var current_html = $('#contents').html(); var new_html = $.load('src.php').html();
In my jsp,Struts project i am using the javascript calendar control for selecting the date and by using function calcage() i am calculating the age of the user but problem occurs when the page refreshes OR when user updated the other values such as name ,contact no. Then the value of the age is set as 0 in the textfield as 0
when i load page it does nothing only blank page, may have code in wrong place but not sure so can someone show me a working example so i can find out what i'm doing wrong also i would like the part of page to refresh evey 120 seconds is this possibe with jquery?
I followed the video tutorials on this site - pretty good. I'm now able to delete records and remove the tr on he fly. Im also able to insert a new record i my db, i the background. But how do i update my page so the post shows up? Code:
but I need to do a beforeSend callback, to fade out the current content, wait until it is fully hidden, and only then fade in with the received ajax request. But doing this, for example, with .ajaxSend, the content loads much quicker, then fadeOut is complete.
I am facing some problem with this when i am trying to sent the data in krnlAddComment1.asp page and there is only an insert query exists. after run the query successfully, response.write "...." revert back to me
I have a problem, I am by no means new to PHP/Javascript but am finding an error that I cannot ridicule how to stop.Ok Ill try and explain it in simple terms:I have two divs, div1 and div2,In div1 there are links whitch are fetched from the databaseIn div2, content from links href ? in div1 is collected through AJAX.No I have a php preg_replace function that replaces it to look like <a href='#' onclick=\"showTopic(0,$char,'$1');\">$1</a> Now when you click this, it inserts into the "tpm" table in the database,(this table holds the links for div1) But it will not update the links unless i refresh the page? I would like to knoe how to update the links in div1 without refreshing, because refreshing = going back to the start of the code i am working on.
Im using keyup function to track text typed in input box. The idea is to perform incremental search in db. This works fine. After this I update the html dynamically to display the filtered resuts and at the same time I must dynamically rewrite the html for input box code. After this the keyup function is not working anymore, allthough the id tag is the same? How should I get around this?
I am using a Jquery/PHP/MySQL login script which is supposed to display an error or success message when the user enters their username/password and also if the username/pw is successfull go to a secure page. Right now as I have it coded, this isn't working properly. Basically nothing is displayed either way.Also,wasn't sure if I just needed to replace, the ?secure-page part with the file name of the page I want to go to if successful?Here is the code as I have it now.
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html>[code].....
I am trying to incorporate two javascript files (using jQuery) and they are creating a conflict.If the main js is on the page part of the page does not work. If I do not include it my menu and some related features do not work correctly.One code is long so here is the link to it: *I removed Link* (this is the main code for the menu etc)The other js is:
I've been learning a lot about jscript and PHP while I've been building my site...now I'm curious about using a little ajax. I have an internal email setup on my site where users can contact one-another...when you click on Inbox, Sent, Drafts, ect it calls a php script and reloads the page. I'm considering for my next release, doing this with jscript but my question is this...
When I print info to the page that I'm on, how hard is it to get rid of the old data that was there? This might be the easiest thing in the world but i don't even know what to call this on google. Also, if that's the norm, how hard is it to add data to a page with out getting rid of whats already there? I've been reading about ajax and I've been using jscripts to check my forms and do simple things but I'm really interested in learning what I really have the power to do here...
Well i do have a mysql query in one php page(php_1) & I want to submit the variables to the query in different php page(php_2) via form action but how am I supposed to do it without redirecting to php_1..All I need is to post the data to the first php page query so that It performs some action over there & thats all... So hoping sumone who knows ajax might helpme out with a sample code or point me in the right direction.
php_1 page :- $query = ("SELECT * FROM state4 WHERE (LONG_HI<'".$_POST['Ymax']."')"); php_2 page:-
I have a section at the bottom of one of my pages that gets data that can be further filtered by weeks. Users can click on any of the weeks to see the data that applies only to that week. This works just fine, but when the function finishes and replaces the html content of the div, the page jumps to the top so that the user has to scroll back down to see the results. I'd like to avoid that. [code]...
It's nothing terribly complicated. The 'weekSelection' links are disabled until a stakeholder is chosen, then they're good to go. The weird bit at the url variable is just some ASP.NET MVC stuff.The StakeholderForecasting div gets its contents replaced and all will be good as soon as I can maintain the page's position.
I am writing a form that grows using ajax server responses to info as the form is filled in and everything is fine in standards compliant browsers but IE is having a problem. I have two js functions on the page that collect form data, send it to the server, and then write the server response as innerHTML to specified divs on the page. This works great in FF but in IE it runs the first function but fails on the second function and the two functions are identical except for the server routine.
The div that is populated with the server response so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the coding because if one works, and they are identical, the other should work too so perhaps IE is choking with the way it is handling two ajax objects on the same page? You will need to add something to the shopping cart first at [uRL] and proceed to checkout, then on the checkout page look in the url and change ste_chkout_proc to ste_checkout_proc and load the new url to see the dev checkout vs. the live checkout.
could someone please point me in the right direction for creating an AJAX page that displays "live" data from a mysql database? I need the page to update its self every time data changes in a mysql table.
How do you print part of an html page using the javascript print() function? Is it possible to put the printable area inside a <div></div> block and print it, or can you use a hidden style then print it?
Is there a site on the www which has some information?
