JQuery :: Load Part Of Page With Ajax And BeforeSend Callback

Dec 10, 2009

I would like to achieve such thing, as to load some part of other page, like this:

$("#content").load("example.com/main.htm #content > div");

but I need to do a beforeSend callback, to fade out the current content, wait until it is fully hidden, and only then fade in with the received ajax request. But doing this, for example, with .ajaxSend, the content loads much quicker, then fadeOut is complete.

JQuery :: Replace Part Of All The Links On A Page?

Jul 12, 2010

I tried finding a similar situation in the forums, but was unable to discover anything sepcific. I think I may be way off here, and or trying to do something bizarre, but what I am trying to do is change only part of the the url for all of the links on a page. So say I want to change:

href="/something/something/all"

to

href="/something/something/specific"

I think I need to use each() in combination with attr but I am not exactly sure how. This is what I have so far (with no luck):

$('a').each( {
$(this).attr('href').replace('all','specific');
});

I've successfully changed part of a single link based of it's enclosing div id, but if there is more than one link in the div, it replaces the entire href of all the other links in that div to be the same as the first one. So that's why I think I need to use each(). But again, I'm not sure how to do this properly in this case.

JQuery :: Ajax - Script Which Loads New Content Onto The Page When The Main Navigation Links Is Clicked

Sep 21, 2011

I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.

I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.

The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.

Here they are:

AJAX :: Create A Page Which Pulls Dynamic Links From An XML File

May 23, 2011

I'll admit to being a newbie with JQuery, XML and Ajax. I'm trying to create a page which pulls dynamic links from an XML file. Here is the page: [URL] Here is the link to the xml file: [URL] I can get the url to pull as text, but I cannot make it into a link, no matter what I seem to try. I'm sure it's a syntax error - but I just don't know enough to know what it is. I'm also going to need to pull a URL for an image, and I am guessing that the process is similar.

JQuery :: Load Part Of PageB With Ajax Into PageA With Head Section

Sep 4, 2011

When you load part of pageB with ajax into pageA, what happen with the head section (title, meta, css link and script link...)

I mean, what is the best practice when you insert into the DOM a part of pageB with all the code (title, meta, etc...) that is associated with pageB. (initially i was inserting the whole pageB because of "gracefull degradation", but this inserts the whole pageB DOM into the pageA DOM).

JQuery :: Ensure Links In A Page(a Page From Any Possible Website) To Open In A New Tab?

Jan 8, 2012

I want to develop a multi-tab browser plugin, which requires all links in a page could open in new tabs within this multi-tab browser plugin. It's very similar to Multi-Tab functions of Firefox/IE, when opening a page in one tab, then any links in that Tab will open in another new tab(after setup from pref), i want to know this principle(how to implement this). I am thinking try this:$('a').click(...), while i am not sure whether it's good/enough.

AJAX :: How To Extract Part Of HTML From Response

Apr 28, 2010

I'm trying to come up with what is probably a kludge. What I'd like to do is take the responseText from an AJAX request -- which will be a full HTML page -- and parse it first to find if there is a <form>...</form> in it. If not I'll display a success message and all is fine, but if it's there, then I want to extract just that form section and display it within a <div> in the page.

This is where my JS skills are failing me. Can anyone point me to the applicable functions, tutorial, or whatever that would show me how to find the <form> and extract it and then replace my div contents with it (just innerHTML?).

AJAX :: Functions Never Work With PHP - Tree Folder Which Calls Another Page To Be Loaded Into A DIV By AJAX Again

Apr 14, 2009

I'm creating an AJAX page that is built using a PHP Class, ie the php looks a bit like this: PHP Code:

$wp_page->addjs('../var/savepolicies.js')
$wp_parser->page = "userpolicywindow.php";
$wp_parser->addlink("Home","../index.php","");
$wp_parser->addlink("Logout","javascript:logout();","");
$wp_parser->getpageid("501");
[Code]...

within this page that has been created, there is an AJAX tree folder which calls another page to be loaded into a DIV by AJAX again. Code:

[Code]...

I don't know why it doesn't work because the page has been loaded with the JS file, but as soon as the link is added afterwards it doesn't work. I take it this is because it doesn't know where to find the JS, but how can I overcome this?

Jquery :: Create Some Links With Window.open Method - When I Alert What Is Being Built, The Links Don't Work?

Mar 10, 2010

I'm using jquery/ajax to create some links with window.open method. Here's the relevant code:

$("#content").empty();
$.ajax({
type: "GET",[code]..........

Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.

JQuery :: Xmlhttpresponse - Consumed Ajax Text - Basically Html 4 - Changes The Links - Hrefs

Apr 24, 2011

Ive gone thru a few exaples of the 'hello world' equivalent for ajax; the classic example having main.html with div id="main_panel", then having ON THE SAME folder of the main.html file, the few files for getting via ajax and then render its content inside div id=main_panel and so on, happy with that;my question is: All of those examples, always get those 'few files', lets say, one.html, two.html, and so, in the same folder where main.html resides; I want to achieve to have the 'some files' in a different folder, lets say, /editors/ relative to the path where main.html is; Ive done this, the ajax call works fine; the PROBLEM is that the xmlhttpresponse (consumed ajax text) wich is basically html 4, changes the links (hrefs) in those to the path of main, lets say, for example, one.html has a link that points to itself, not an anchor, just a link pointing to itself as we often use for pagination of a grid, well, that link href attribute is changed to the path of the main.html file, and not preserving the original href attribute... why? where should I start from? changing the context parametere prior to calling ajax get?

Requesting Consecutive Tables Through AJAX And PHP, Links In 2nd Disabled

Jun 23, 2011

On a webpage, I have a table (generated on page load through php/html) on the side that has several links (one on each row), and when you click any of them it calls a javascript function (href='javascript:newtable()') that uses an ajax requests to populate the table again (performed by a php file echoing an html table that is placed into a div innerHTML on the page), this time with new items and links on each row/cell. In this second table, none of the javascript links or buttons work after the first row.

For whatever reason, after calling consecutive ajax requests to re-populate an HTML table, the links in the first row of the 2nd table work and call javascript functions, but for any row thereafter the links or buttons no longer work.

<form id="mylists" name="mylists">
<div id="table" style="overflow: auto; height: 250px; width: 250px;">
<table id="myplaylists" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" width="225px" style="position: relative; left: -7%;">

Ajax :: Tabs - Column Of Links That Use To Load Content Into The Adjacent DIV

Sep 27, 2010

I have a column of links that use ajax to load content into the adjacent DIV, and I have used the loadobs function to load the JS and CSS files along with the external file. Now within the external file I have used javascript to create a 3 tab section; when you first load the page it is fine BUT if you navigate away from the page and then try going back and loading the same external page then the tabs stop working and all the content of the tabbed sections stack ontop of one another as though the javacript isnt working?

It is a work in progress but the page I am having the problems on can be found at [url] if you click on the top link in the left hand column called Tara - Female vocalist you will be able to see where the tabs are.
