what i'm trying to do without sucess , can't find anything on google.. Is trying to arrange a button to do a "CTRL+T" (Select all) effect in the HTML i'm currently viewing. Is this possible in Javascript?
I dont want to select the text in a textbox ! I want it in the whole .html i'm currently viewing.
I would like to select a text, in my HTML page. Is that possible? About the page [URL], it seems to be not allowed by jQuery... For exemple if my document is:
<html> Hello word! </html>
I would like to select each "l" letter and replace by L [URL]. But I don't know how to select just a text.
I have a question in javascript, that is, is it possible to display a value of an variable in another html page when a button is clicked? For example, i set a value in page_1. html as abc=5 and when a button is clicked the value of abc should be displayed in page_2.html.
I was just wondering whether there is a way to hide an element on another page after clicking on a button?Basically, I have a login page, and for testing purposes, I want it so when you click a button, it runs some javascript in a file called ajax.util.js, and I have a jQuery file attached to the HTML file as well URL..., and I am using Google App Engine, which im not sure whether thats relevant. I tried using the show and hide functions provided by the jQuery file, but no luck, i want to hide an element which is a link with ID admintools. I have also tried getting the element by ID and changing the display style to none and hidden but still no luck. Im not sure whether its only possible to hide elements in the login.html page.
What I want it to do basically is click on the submit button in the login page, it will then run a javascript function which redirects you to index.html (which i am doing using window.location), and then hides an element in the index.html page (id=admintools).
What is happening is $(this) is no longer based on .expand being the (this) that is clicked.
like if i have a button SOMEWHERE randomly on the page with this
<div onclick="Minimize('_alerts');">Click Here</div> this will minimize alerts but because the (this) in minimize function doesn't actually point to the right button that I want to add a class to.
Is there a way to modify the minimize function so that it finds the <div id="mytoggle"><ul> <li class="expand boxminimize" rel="_alerts"> using the rel toggle, and then changes the class of the li from expand boxminimize to boxexpanded??
just like the .expand click function I posted on the top of the post that works?
I read about window object and specifically about creating popup windows. The code below produces a popup window when a link is clicked:
Code JavaScript: var Survey = { init: function() { var surveyLink = document.getElementById("survey"); Core.addEventListener(surveyLink, "click", Survey.clickListener); }, [Code]....
I would like to add a "Close Window" button on survey.html page and when that button is clicked, the window would close. How do I do that? I know that I should use (reference to popup window).close(), but how and where do I attach even listener to that button?
I want to add something to my forum. Specifically, I want to add a HTML and Picture button for when you go to reply. Like posting an article here, there are also these options (font, alignment, insert image) I do not know how to achieve this but shouldnt be too hard.
I have a web site which main page is index2.html I need a script that when I refresh the page it takes me to index3.html or index#.html in a random fashion. the list of index numbers is 10 so far.
I tried to load 1 html through ajax and javascript and it worked. But i want to load more than one and i cant.I thought that it would be a good idea to put the ajax files to the external websites and put the same load button.I tried this idea but it doesn work.I can only load one external website.
I have it set up so that there are three frames (frames and the use of javascript are encourage for practice) "bar" on the left with navigational options, "main" in the center where the body of the drill is presented, and "feedback" along the bottom where the feedback will appear.
My issue is that I have everything working except the form! I'm not sure how to make it so that upon clicking the submit button the feedback is presented in the "feedback" frame. This was suggested to me but isn't working, maybe I have a mistake somewhere? Or is there another way I can do this?
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function CheckCheckbox() {
I have this normal HTML page, starts with <!DOCTYPE ...... and end with </html>, nothing special, what I need is to get every character from the beginning to the end.I've tried $("html").html(), but this cannot get the <!DOCTYPE line and also the <html> line, but only the codes inside the <html> tag, how can I get all ?
exporting field value from one html to another html page. I have created such a script, but it opens the second html page in a new window every time. I need a script which would recognize the existing open window rather than trying to open a new window. Here are the two pages
Page 1 ( from where the field values are getting exported)
I have an external page with some rudimentary html in the source code missing many tags.. a bit like the below. On a page hosted elsewhere I need to take the html from this external page and add and remove certain parts of it and add some styling such as line breaks before ^FIELD01. I've looked at jquery and AJAX but cant find anything to suit my needs. I think what I am struggling with most is having this page in a variable to then be able to edit it.
I'm doing 1 web-system, where login page in .jsp but other functional page in .html where I use javascript to do function. So if user knows any other html page's url then they can browse directly any of those page. But I've to prevent them & send to login page if they try to browse with out login. Very sad I can't do it
Below is the code for a Captive Portal Splash Page. I have tried to research how to fix the button at the bottom of my page but I can either add a link (which does not require checking the box to agree to terms) or simply how it came to me without the ability to send customer anywhere.
On page load it will evaluate this drop-down and repopulate it determined on their values. If there is an S in any of the values the drop-down will generate an option for 'S' like so.. <option value="s">S Option Text</option> And for the first code example in this post - the Javascript would be able to repopulate the drop-down with the following:
I have a HTML form containing multidimensional selects listing equipments and their quantitites. This allow the users to select the kind of equipment and quantitites they would like to book. Upon onChange select event I would like to parse the data into a multidimensional Javascript array in order to check equipment availability for booking. But I can't figure out how to parse and upon JS HTML DOM reference I am not even sure it's possible. Code:
I have a dropdown menu. the code is as below[code]...
I need to give user an option to select from the list or enter a new value. how do you do this ? I can add another option say "new value" and when he choose this user should be able to add the new value
Suppose that I have this as choices in my select lists:
Kid List John Jane Rumpelstilskin Fruit List Apple Mango Orange
And if I select Rumpelstilskin in the kid list, I want to make sure he wouldn't be able to pick Mango, no matter how hard he tries. I tried using onblur + onclick + onkeyup + onkeydown + onfocus then all of them contains the same validation function, but still when I change it the last value is the one that gets selected. How would I do it so that if I press down and Rump is not chosen but Mango it's okay, but when I change to Rump it automatically validates and revokes him of Mango? And in any way imaginable? Is there an onall method for html? Here's some test code I'm fiddling with so as not to be labeled as not showing some code:
I'd like to put a button on a page. When clicking the button, the table below it gets selected so the user can do Ctrl C to copy the entire table without using the mouse to select the table which can be big. How do I do it using javascript? I tried:
A while ago there was a discussion how to implement a select list that would call a function right upon new selection is being made w/o clicking any additional buttons:
[Link]
The main issue was to overcome IE's accessibility bug: if user scrolls the list using arrow keys (or an alternative input device) IE fires onchange event on each scroll, without <Enter> confirmation. This way a simple <select onchange="myFunction"> makes your list unaccessible for non-mouse users. Recently I needed to bypass this issue myself (because in big interface with many select/button pairs it gets crowdy and ugly).
IMHO the solution appeared to be too simple to be good. It works on IE and Opera 8 (except Opera seems doesn't support accesskey (?) My FF is died today (my fault, not Mozilla). Does it work everywhere else? That would be really great....
As you can see the image has an onclick associated with it.I want to do a similar thing with the selection of the font-size.As the action needs to occur after the client has selected the size, probably I will need "on buttun up" ( or is it onRelease ? ) this one <select name="x_size"> ?or on all the option statements ?
I want to have a combobox with bookmark options. After you select a value from this combobox you can bookmark it with a push button. This should popup a bookmark dialog from the browser bookmark dialog.
Lets say we have 3 options in the value's. Google, Yahoo, Bing When you select Google and you push Place bookmark you should get a browser bookmark dialog with a title "Google search site". The url would be just [URL]
I also want Yahoo with the url [URL] and the bookmark title Search at Yahoo! and Bing with the url [URL] and the title Search at Bing
