Possible To Display Value Of Variable In Another Html Page / When Button Is Clicked?
Mar 26, 2009
I have a question in javascript, that is, is it possible to display a value of an variable in another html page when a button is clicked? For example, i set a value in page_1. html as abc=5 and when a button is clicked the value of abc should be displayed in page_2.html.
I have the save button. When Save button is clicked which I presently configured like "<INPUT TYPE=button VALUE="Save" ONCLICK="savemethod()">
I need to write the code so that when the save button is clicked, I need to set the form variable in savemethod() so that I can use that variable later in the code. After it sets the variable to something(either integer or true), I will write something like this [code]...
I have a form that is used to generate and Email (this is done with PHP), in this form i have two buttons one is to send the email and one is to preview the email. Currently I have my script set up so when the send button is pressed the form action will be set to go to the send_email.php page, and when the preview button is clicked it will go to the preview.php page. When a user clicks on either button it opens in the same window, What i want is when the preview button is clicked a popup will come up with a a preview of the email.
This is how it is currently working.
function to change action:
Code:
function changeAction(url){ document.email_list.action = url; } send and preview buttons:
[Code]....
So basically I just need the preview to open in a popup window when the form is submitted using the preview button. I don't have any code for this because I don't really know where to start, A
UPDATE: I got the preview to come up in a popup but I can not get the data from the form submission into that popup window.
when I click on a button, it should display below the button a random randomStrings(AAA, AAB, AAC, AAD, or AAE). The problem is that when I click on the button nothing is being displayed. Instead it just re-opens the web page I am on.
How can I get it so that when I click on the button, a randomStrings appears at the bottom.
question 2 is that in the future I want the randomStrings to display AAA, AAB, AAC ... all the way to ZZZ. Is there a shorter way to display the randomStrings than just AAA, AAB, AAC and so on.
Below is my code
<head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" /> <title>Create a Session</title> <script type="text/javascript">
What happens is that when I click on a button, a random string from the RandomString variable appears below the button. e.g I click on the button and it displays 'AAB' and then if I click on the button again it may display 'AAE' and etc.
The problem is that sometimes it displays 'undefined'. I don't wanit 'undefined' to appear but why does it sometimes display 'undefined' rather than a Random string.
I'm creating a web page that randomly shows images when when a button is clicked. I appear to be having 2 main problems with it so I'll begin with what seems to be the easiest one to tackle.as the user scrolls down the page I need to keep the button statically, in the top right corner.here's the relevant code:
I'm currently trying to simplify my advertising workload by serving ads to each applicable page in the following way which just seems, well, wrong:
1) Created a .html page with a table (bleh) formatted with CSS
2) On each page place an <iframe> tag (bleh) to "serve" the ad
3) When I need to update the ads, edit the .html and all update
There are several problems with this, most notably that it seems like a crude way to operate in general, and the iframes annoyingly throw up w3c validation errors due to the inline css formating.
I actually really like how a typical adsense unit presents its ads, but I haven't been able to figure out how to duplicate them effectively except for the above methods. I have a few questions about this issue:
Is there a simple javascript solution for presenting ads similiar to adsense that are easy to edit for multiple page delivery (like with the iframes)?
Are there any other ideas that do well as far as differing javascript ad types? I always notice the bottom-of-the-page ad that pops up on the first visit to sitepoint, but is that javascript?
I can't seem to extract XML from an somepage.xml document and display it on a regular webpage. I have no way of reading its contents.
I read up on some microsoft way of doing it, but not sure that is gonna fly (need it for most browsers), so can this be done easily with json/ajax?
I have an xml file in normal format:
www.somedomain.com/somepath/somexml.xml
<products> <items> <item>blah</item>
[Code]....
So, how do I get that data to manipulate and display in my html? I don't even know where to begin with json/ajx etc.. and how to call the xml file etc..
I have an XML file that i am importing the information into a HTML document. The page renders in Mozilla Firefox browser and in Opera but it does not render the information in Safari or iE 8. Can someone tell me what adjustments i may need. The code is intended to create a table with the XML information and display it on the HTML.code...
I have some script that looks at the appName, and based on that I want to open a seperate page. Not sure how to. I can get an alert to show up, but need my other page based on the name.
<script type="text/javascript"> var name=navigator.appName; if (name == "Netscape") {
A question for the experts - let me first say that I'm not a coder, but I'm sufficiently competent to mess around with somebody elses code!
This is what I need:
I'm developing a website for a private railway, and wish to display a 'today's trains' panel on the front page of the site - there are up to twenty timetable diagrams, each of which has its own small html page file.
I need to figure a way of calling a different timetable panel to be displayed according to day of the year (ensuring that the correct timetable is displayed each day). Obviously I have a copy of the complete timetable, and it seems I need some code that will call a particular page according to what's happening that day.
Does anybody have any idea how a simpleton like me can set this up?
I have a form that launch a file chooser to allow the user to select a picture. On clicking submit i want to open another page and use the file the user chose and display it. Is there a way to do it without php or asp... i mean just html and jquery?here is what i have up to now:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I want to store the sourcepage of a html page in a variable; how can I do this? this page is not the one who contains the script, the page is delivered by a textbox
I was just wondering whether there is a way to hide an element on another page after clicking on a button?Basically, I have a login page, and for testing purposes, I want it so when you click a button, it runs some javascript in a file called ajax.util.js, and I have a jQuery file attached to the HTML file as well URL..., and I am using Google App Engine, which im not sure whether thats relevant. I tried using the show and hide functions provided by the jQuery file, but no luck, i want to hide an element which is a link with ID admintools. I have also tried getting the element by ID and changing the display style to none and hidden but still no luck. Im not sure whether its only possible to hide elements in the login.html page.
What I want it to do basically is click on the submit button in the login page, it will then run a javascript function which redirects you to index.html (which i am doing using window.location), and then hides an element in the index.html page (id=admintools).
[URL]..Default.aspx I have both a carousel with images andalso animagemap(notnot published yet)with coords that when clicked i want to write to a cookie file which image or image map coordinate was clicked, so when they are hyperlinked to the next page the correct div opens based on first reading the cookie written to on the previous page. Anybody have a basic script for reading and writing to a cookie using jquery in this fashion?
