Sep 27, 2010I wanted help for a JavaScript code. You might think I'm lazy for not writing it myself, but the truth is I am not a JavaScript coder. I just have a really simple website and I am trying to do something for which I know JS is required but I don't know how to do it. I've also searched around but couldn't find the appropriate code.
What I want to do is to make an html page load a different background image every time it refreshes.I will have a list of background images and I want to be able to add in this list, without having to change anything else in the codes after I do this (I think this is made by making an array of images and by putting .length somewhere in the codes, but I don't know exactly how I should do this).I already know how to do an external file (.js) and link to it from my .html page.Now I want the code to put in the .js file, and the code to put in the <body> of my .html file.

Nov 15, 2011when I click on a button, it should display below the button a random randomStrings(AAA, AAB, AAC, AAD, or AAE). The problem is that when I click on the button nothing is being displayed. Instead it just re-opens the web page I am on.
How can I get it so that when I click on the button, a randomStrings appears at the bottom.
question 2 is that in the future I want the randomStrings to display AAA, AAB, AAC ... all the way to ZZZ. Is there a shorter way to display the randomStrings than just AAA, AAB, AAC and so on.

Dec 26, 2011[URL]..Default.aspx I have both a carousel with images andalso animagemap(notnot published yet)with coords that when clicked i want to write to a cookie file which image or image map coordinate was clicked, so when they are hyperlinked to the next page the correct div opens based on first reading the cookie written to on the previous page. Anybody have a basic script for reading and writing to a cookie using jquery in this fashion?

May 29, 2009I have a pretty basic HTML form, it doesn't go to a database or anything, it just gets emailed directly to the owner of the website with their customer query.However, the owner has now asked that each query be assigned a random reference number of no more than 16 digits which must also be visible to the customer.I presume this will be relatively easy but I'm a complete beginner with Javascript which I assumed would be necessary for generating the number. I've sort of figured out how to generate the number but I can't figure out how to get that number into a read-only field on the form so that it will be both visible to the client and sent with the rest of the data on the form to the owner.I've had a number of attempts but this is what I'm trying at the moment:

Run A Gif Animation And Random Image Function From A Html Button Onclick?
Aug 25, 2010Trying to click (onClick) an animated gif image of an on/off switch to start a second animation which is located on a different location on the web-page (a 7-frame animation of a generator with moving parts) immediately followed by a random image selection function placing an image in a 3rd location on the page (next to the generator image). The random images are supposed to look like the result of the generator animation---the item that �pops out� of the generator.
We thought the process to achieve this would be an �OnClick� on the on/off switch-animated-gif to start two javascript functions (generato animation function & random image function). To further complicate matters, we are doing this website in iWeb. We�re using iWeb SEO Tool to add the javascript to the header and HTML snippet in iWeb to place the HTML code. Not sure we�re actually doing the snippet right though---is it supposed to relate to the images---or is it separate? When the gifs are place on the iweb page, they work in the browser upon page load---the �on-click� & the random image function are NOT working...so we know we�ve done something(s) wrong.
We�re thinking that we�re probably missing some code that describes where the 3 different image-spots are on the page (image #1 is the on/off switch gif, image#2 is the generator gif, image#3 is the generator output.png)....or just aren�t coding the string of functions correctly---or maybe our strategy for achieving this is just no correct (?).Here is the code we have tried that didn�t work.

Clicking the link repeatedly gives the same FF error message, for line 2 of different pages from the array—which seems to indicate that the random part is firing. But no page loads. How To Generate A Random Page In A Frame
Jan 13, 2011So to start out, this is my first post on CodingForums! :) I've only recently started learning web development so I figured it would be a good idea to get involved with some active forums.
I am trying to open a random page in a frame, but I am trying to call the Javascript to do so in another frame. I currently have an html page with a frameset which has two frames. One of the frames is a toolbar that sits at the top of the page and it has an image that acts as button. When the user clicks on this image, the bottom frame generates a random page from an array of links I have hardcoded into the Javascript. The bottom frame is just set to google.com as a default because I couldn't really think of anything to put in an html file there.
The problem I'm having is when I click on the image to open a random page in the bottom frame, nothing happens. The code for all the files are below. code...
