JQuery :: Ajaxing A Random Page?

Trying to combine a random script with jQ "load()":from a collection of pages

var pp = ["page1.htm", "page2.htm", "page3.htm" ];
in folder "loadpp"
loading into <div id="pagehere">
function loadPage() {
$('#pagehere').load('loadpp/' + pp[ Math.floor(Math.random()*pp.length) ]);
}

I've tried several combinations of quotes. Clicking the link repeatedly gives the same FF error message, for line 2 of different pages from the array—which seems to indicate that the random part is firing. But no page loads. Loading any page singly works ok. Sure, it must be something simple I'm missing...
