I want two buttons: one for login and another for logout. Initially login button is enabled and logout button is disabled. When I click on login button, the logout button should get enabled and the login button should get disabled. And after that, when i click on logout, the login button should get enabled and the logout button should get disable.
Here's how far I could go with it,but it doesn't work.

I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
Here they are:

It seems like when I load javascript code into a page, that each item I add, such as an accordian vertical navbar, image slider, etc, that each time I add one, the page loads a second or so slower with each one added. I would like some of these features, but is this just a part of life, or are there tricks to avoid the slower load time? It is not major time but after the 2 items I mentioned, it added on about 2 seconds.
I read that $(document).ready(function() might slow me down but I do not see that statement in any of my .js files.

I have a jquery statement that enables or disables a button depending on whether a checkbox has been selected in a grid. This works fine in firefox but in IE the button is still displayed as disabled after checking the box. When you move the mouse pointer over the button is instantly becomes enabled. Showing an alert dialogue also makes the button display as enabled. Is there anyway to force IE to refresh the button display after running the statement?

I am trying out the Tablesorter in Wordpress 2.7.1 to make a membership list sortable. For some reason the sortable features isn't being enabled (or at least visible). Here are the steps I've taken so far: 1) In the header.php file I added the following code between the head
tags:
<head>
<script type="text/javascript" src="library/scripts/jquery-
latest.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="library/scripts/
jquery.tablesorter.js"></script>
[Code].....
But, while the table shows up on the page, the sortable features are not visible. NOTE: In Wordpress I have the WP-Table Reloaded plugin activated, but to trouble shoot this issue, I am not using the shortcode and using a HTML table directly in the page, for now.

What I want to do is have a page that only displays if javascript is enabled(or similar) in the sense that it tells users that js is not enabled and how to enable, what were doing is creating web forms and would only like them viewable if js is enabled so that we can validate client side and reduce server load. Main reason is validation client side, cause if the initial form works well we will expand it to include forms for every type of job we can. No idea to where to start as js is not a strong point.

Is there any method which blocks the website from loading, if the browser using is not java script enabled? I have a webpage with some details to be entered. This website is designed in such a way that it checks the exceptions in the entry and alerts the user regarding it which is done using javascript. but for some users this feature is not working. I guess its the problem with the browser they use. So how can I alert them to enable Java by adding something to the script? Is there any way which prevents the page from loading if java is not enabled in the browser?

I've been tweaking a small AJAX login / user search page and I've run into a problem. I have three buttons, "Submit Query", "Add User", "Delete User" and a JS using DOM to modify everything on the login.html page.
I have a single external CSS file that controls the login.html page, buttons included. The way it works right now is the "submit query" button is blue, "add user" is green, and "delete user" is red.
In my JS file I diable the add and delete buttons if that user name already exists. Disabling the buttons is working correctly but changing the color of the disabled buttons isn't working. Here's what I've tried so far:
if( Name != null ){
b2.disabled;
b3.disabled;
b2.style="color:blue;background-color:yellow";
- or -
document.getElementById('b2').style = "color:yellow;background-color:yellow";
b3.style="color:blue;background-color:yellow";
- or -
document.getElementById('b3').style = "color:yellow;background-color:yellow";}}
I even tried adding a .disabled class to my css file:
#b2 .disabled{
color:blue;
background-color:yellow;
}
But nothing has worked so far. If you'd like I can paste all of the code, i.e. JAVA, JS, XML, CSS, HTML if anyone would like a working AJAX example.

I've got a form inside a PHP script that posts to itself, does some
processing on the PHP side, and if it looks good, PHP sends a HEADER
command that redirects the user out. All was fine until I added a
button disabler onSubmit to keep users from submitting twice. Now the
form disables the button as requested but just refreshes the page... it
doesn't get to the HEADER command.
Any idea what the problem might be?
<script language="Javascript">
function disable(theForm) {
theForm.send_email.disabled = true
return (true)
}
</script>
<form action="<?=$_SERVER[PHP_SELF]?t=$_GET[t]?>" method=post name=form
onSubmit="return disable(this)">

<input type="hidden" name="updateidlist" value="<?php echo $updateidlist; ?>" />
<input name="orderall" type="submit" value="Order All" id="mFormSubmit"/>[code]......
I want to keep it as simple as possible.

When a button is clicked, the button then disables (as well as running its normal function).Obviously I'm used to using this.disabled=true but in this instance I cannot access the onClick in the <input> tag because the page is hard coded by a third party application.So I'm trying to make a function which locates the button, notices if it's been clicked and disables it on click. Seems easy to me! However I cannot make it work!Here are the two variations I've tried (both call the function in the page onLoad):
function disableButton() {
document.getElementById('submit').onclick=document.getElementById('submit').disabled=true;
}
[code]....
