How can I make it to where an image will load in the corner of a website?Specifically, I have part of a template I want all people to see, however, some people either get it cut off or not shown at all because of their resolution.
i am pretty new to jquery and hope this is the right place to ask. my problem is the following. when i mouseover a certain element on a page, i want that a certain image is displayed in the top right corner of the page, no matter where the it is currently scrolled. how can i achieve that?
I want to find a way to place a button at the bottom right corner of an image. The button should still be inside the image, not under the image. How? I know how to create a link button using FORM and INPUT tag, but can I use innerHtml to insert the button into the IMG tag? If not, how to do it? I tried, but the button is always outside the image.
I'm looking for a cross-browser (IE, Netscape, Mozilla/FireFox, Opera, Safari) javascript that will keep an image (or <div>) in the lower right corner of the browser window whenever part of the web page has been scrolled vertically. I did find a script on the internet that was supposed to fit my needs, but I found it didn't work as advertised. (I included that script below.)
Requirements: - I'm using "Frames" and the frame I want the image/div to appear in is the main content frame that sits against the right and bottom edges of the browser window. So the lower right corner of the browser window is the same as the lower right corner of my frame. - (optional) If the frame content is small enough such that there are no scrollbars or if the page has not been scrolled vertically, then I don't want the image (or <div>) to appear. - the placement of the image/div needs to take into account the width of the scrollbar(s). - my focus is to display a button in this lower right corner that, when clicked, will scroll the page to the top.
I found the following script on another site that claims it would do most of this, cross browser, but I was only able to make it work with IE (and I'm using IE 6.0). When I tried it with Netscape 7.1, Firefox 1.0 (Mozilla 5.0) and Opera 7.54, the button didn't float as the page scrolled. I checked browser settings and javascript is turned on for all the browsers.
Can someone point me to a javascript that will do what I'm looking for, or help me understand why the following script isn't working cross browser? I've worked with javascript and the DOM somewhat, but am not a Master of the subject matter, especially when it comes to cross browser issues.
Thanks, and here are the instructions and script that I mentioned above (that I had founed from another site):
Place the watermark on your page where you want it to appear on non-DHTML browsers (say, the bottom). Then nest it inside a <DIV> tag with the attributes id="waterMark" and style="position:absolute". Code:
I have some javascript code that does some GET and POST requests that are required. Sometimes it doesn't fully execute for the user because they close or click onto another page before the javascript is completely done. Is there anyway I can let all of the javascript load first and slow down the actual page load of the website.
I am a systems analyst and network admin for [url].... We already have an exisiting site, which has JS. We now need to add a lightbox effect onload that will basically overlay the page in grey and focus on a banner before you can access it. Thus, pushing everyone who visits to read a banner. I would also like to add an "x" graphic in the top right corner of the projected image to close the banner and return to veiwing our site.
The problem: When the website loads, the background shifts up to incorporate the catfish popup and allow the content to not be masked. This is a cool function, though I don't want this to happen.
Question: How do I stop the website from adjusting up?
(I tried modifying this: catfishheight = 90; // total height of catfish in pixels catfishoverlap = 90; // height of the overlap portion only (semi-transparent)
This does allow the catfish to cover up the content, though the background image still shifts with the catfish load.
Well, i have already built a website using a)MySQL b)HTML c)PHP and d)Javascript.My website consists of basic html pages/templates which have links to the left and point to another templates/pages.For example, i have 4 templates
Each template consists of links to another pages, that means that they don't contain only text but links too and a search engine.Well, i'm thinking of adding some animation in my website using the jquery library.Let's say we have an accordion which has 4 choices and when the user clicks on the first choice the 1st template(NEWS) appears inside the slide of accordion, not in a new page!!!This is what i would like to do, to place in each slide one of my templates. CAn this be done?
Which are the disadvantages of adding in each slide of the accordion a different template for my site and remain in the same slide when the user clicks in one of the links of the template?Consider that i'm using dynamic content and not static, i have a MySQL database behind.Also,as i have seen in most examples the options of accordion usually contain an image, a content, a text or links to another pages which open i new windows and tabs!!!i would like to have a template which loads in the same slide each time the user clicks on a link of it.
I am pretty new to jQuery and my programming skills are almost non-existent.
But I was wondering; is it possible to create something which will load a page (or php include) when the website has been fully loaded with a loading bar?
The reason why I want this, is cause I am building a website and it will have a ping (to severs) script, but it takes a "long" time to load (depending on the servers that are being pinged). So it can take anywhere from 2 or 3 seconds to 10 seconds (or even more). So it would be nice that first the website would be loaded completely and when that's done, it should load the ping script and show that it's loading with a loading bar.
I'm writing a blog post that uses multiple videos from YouTube and Yahoo Video, but I'm not happy with how long it takes the page to render. Apart from using an ajax-y method to load the videos, are there any tricks that would make the page load quicker with multiple videos from different sources?
I am trying to include some javascript in my website which rotates some stored images. I have attached the code for the index page of my website as i am having some problems getting it to work. Can anyone see where i am going wrong? This is my first attempt.
I'm trying to add java script to my website so it loads my background image. I followed a tutorial from here, http://thecodecentral.com/2008/02/21...t-image-loader and so I copy and pasted this code into note pad:var loader = new ImageLoader('http://www.website.com/htdocs/image.jpg');
loader.loadEvent = function(url, image){ //actions to perform when the image is loaded //alert(url + ' is loaded');
only first image in the all_images array loads and the rest stays hidden. it works first time i load the page, but any other time it loads only one image. i understand it might have to do with the cache. what could be possible cause for breaking the .each() loop after first iteration? i'm using jquery 1.3.2, png fix and php
Basically, i've got a very large website as the client wanted a fancy horizontally scrolling one. As such the images/javascript effects take a little while to load.Basically i'd want an animated gif to act as a loading image and then once the website has completed loading the whole page fades in (this includes all images, text, javascript functions etc etcI can do it when loading an image but am stuck with how to do it for say a whole website.
I want to use the Drop Down Image selector II script on a website, to display fabric, as there is a large number of samples, I want to break the list up alphabetically. Is is possible to use the script more than once on a page, when I tried to do this the script did not work, if it cannot be used more than once on a page, has anyone seen a program that could be.

And saved the file as imageloader.js. I didn't put the actual website or image in this post because I don't want it to get referenced when searching my website in google. When I open the page, there is no loader, the image takes a couple seconds to load when you first go to my page like usual. Am I doing something wrong? did I call the file a wrong name? should I reference imageloader.js in the html code of the webpage?
I would like my page to load (and show a loading.gif in place of the main not-yet-downloaded image) and then download the main image. Uisng jquery, how can i achieve this? Ideally, i'd also like then to be able to switch that main image using links, again showing a loading.gif prior to display.
I have just joined this website in order to get some answers for a problem I have my own shoe selling business and have recently created my own website. I taught myself a few tricks from books and a friend was on hand to help me also. What I would like to do is make images of my shoes 'rollover' images so you can turn the shoe picture around when you hover your mouse over it. Here is an example which in fact allows you to zoom in on images (I would like this function AND a turning 360degrees rollover of the image too: DuobootsObviously I am a complete amateur and only know simple HTML codes and have found other advice I have received inconclusive
I am trying to put an image on the front page of my website that changes to one of two random images on mouseover. This part was easy, and has been done (I got the code from [URL] But what I am finding difficult is to make each image link to a different page. For example, if the user mouseovers the main image and sees the 'thumbs up' image, then clicks on it, they should be taken to the 'thumbs up' page. And if the user mouseovers the main image and sees the 'thumbs down' image, then clicks on it, they should be taken to the 'thumbs down' page. The site is here: [URL] I think using 2 arrays is the way to go, but am not sure.
