How can I make it to where an image will load in the corner of a website?Specifically, I have part of a template I want all people to see, however, some people either get it cut off or not shown at all because of their resolution.

I want to find a way to place a button at the bottom right corner of an image. The button should still be inside the image, not under the image. How? I know how to create a link button using FORM and INPUT tag, but can I use innerHtml to insert the button into the IMG tag? If not, how to do it? I tried, but the button is always outside the image.

I'm looking for a cross-browser (IE, Netscape, Mozilla/FireFox, Opera, Safari) javascript that will keep an image (or <div>) in the lower right corner of the browser window whenever part of the web page has been scrolled vertically. I did find a script on the internet that was supposed to fit my needs, but I found it didn't work as advertised. (I included that script below.)
Requirements:
- I'm using "Frames" and the frame I want the image/div to appear in is the main content frame that sits against the right and bottom edges of the browser window. So the lower right corner of the browser window is the same as the lower right corner of my frame.
- (optional) If the frame content is small enough such that there are no scrollbars or if the page has not been scrolled vertically, then I don't want the image (or <div>) to appear.
- the placement of the image/div needs to take into account the width of the scrollbar(s).
- my focus is to display a button in this lower right corner that, when clicked, will scroll the page to the top.
I found the following script on another site that claims it would do most of this, cross browser, but I was only able to make it work with IE (and I'm using IE 6.0). When I tried it with Netscape 7.1, Firefox 1.0 (Mozilla 5.0) and Opera 7.54, the button didn't float as the page scrolled. I checked browser settings and javascript is turned on for all the browsers.
Can someone point me to a javascript that will do what I'm looking for, or help me understand why the following script isn't working cross browser? I've worked with javascript and the DOM somewhat, but am not a Master of the subject matter, especially when it comes to cross browser issues.
Thanks, and here are the instructions and script that I mentioned above (that I had founed from another site):
Place the watermark on your page where you want it to appear on non-DHTML browsers (say, the bottom). Then nest it inside a <DIV> tag with the attributes id="waterMark" and style="position:absolute". Code:

I am a systems analyst and network admin for [url].... We already have an exisiting site, which has JS. We now need to add a lightbox effect onload that will basically overlay the page in grey and focus on a banner before you can access it. Thus, pushing everyone who visits to read a banner. I would also like to add an "x" graphic in the top right corner of the projected image to close the banner and return to veiwing our site.

So I have an image, id="image", and I have coordinates and some other stuff feeding out of it into an array on a mouse click. Now what I want is for a small image to appear on the place where the mouse is clicked as well. I was told jQuery would be able to do this?

I am working in Dreamweaver CS4 with both HTML and Javascript. I created a preview area and some thumbnails beneath. Each thumbnail is linked to a full size image. So far, so good. I'm attempting to follow a Javascript tutorial to make a lightbox. I added CSS rules and the javascript code in the hopes of having my thumbnail show the image in the clickable preview area when hovering. However, my fullsize image does not display in the preview area. Interestingly, when I hover over the preview, I see at the bottom of my browser that it is still linked, just not displaying. The preview area is blank.

In this program my basic intention is that as soon as the page loads, an alertbox will be called displaying the ALT value of image.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC
This is my test page.
It doesn't work. When i used plain javascript alert function in body tag with onload event, it worked well.
This (code) implementation just shows the text in strong tag and the image. There is no messagebox displaying the alt message. Please tell me where I'm wrong. I've already downloaded the jQuery library and it lies in the same folder as this code.

A plug-in that shows only a part of the image and not the whole image.
To be clear, I don't need resizing, just sectional viewing.
I have large images of map/newspaper, but I only want to center to a position and show a part of the image, how can I do that.
I have looked at a couple of the pop-up plug-ins and they don't do that. Also, I don't need pop up functionality.
For e.g. only show a specific part of map, or a newspaper.

I got this working in chrome and was happy until I got to check out IE8! Enough said about that.The code I have now will work (in both chrome and IE8) if I manually set the height and width of the image but I cannot get them dynamically, for instance if images have different sizes, I've been trying for a while now but cannot get anywhere with it.The code I am currently using (of my own creation) is;
$("#lightbox_image_container").html('<img id="lightbox_image" src="http://www.veritywebdesign.com/gallery/gallery_images/image.jpg" />');
$("#lightbox_image").load(function() {
// image_width = $("#lightbox_image").width();
[code]....
How do I get the height and width dynamically after loading the image?

I want to display an image using javascript instead of HTML (or use javascript to change the HTML code dynamically when an update is made). I have created an XML file, which contains text data which is displayed in HTML by using Javascript.What I am having trouble with is getting Javascript to grab the image URL from the XML file, and then display that image in the correct div. How does one show an image by using javascript? and how do you get javascript to get the url from the XML?
So what I want to do is create a function that grabs the url (relative) from the PIC tag in the XML ("newssmall.jpg") and then uses this URL to display the image on the HTML page.This way, only the XML needs updating when updating the news section of the site.

I'm having problems displaying images on a site. Basically I have a to change an image each time a button is pressed on a piece of hardware. This is the code to detect a button press
// Check Button
tstileo = new Image();
tstilec = new Image();
tstileo.src = '/images/1.jpg';
tstilec.src = '/images/2.jpg';
document.getElementById('btn0').innerHTML = (getXMLValue(xmlData, 'btn0') == 'up') ? document.Image=(tstileo): document.Image=(tstilec);
So when the button is pressed/unpressed it should display tstileo and tstilec What format should my HTML code be to display the image ? This is whats there at the moment
<span id="btn0">?</span></p>
When running all I get is text saying [OBJECT HTMLImageElement] This site is being hosted on a microchip, btn0 is a press button switch on the board. The idea is to use this as a remote monitoring system. It runs Javascript XML HTML and CSS. I have spent hours searching for a way to do this ( simple ? ) task but haven't got any further than this. :confused:

I've got the images now, the sizes, and even the title and description from the metadata.The images run in the window on my page, and all that is working fine.....NOW I'd like to display the title of the image either ON or UNDER the image as it displays. The images are running from a javascript script, and I HAVE the title available to the javascript (it, like everything else, is in a two dimensional array the javascript is using)...In my rummaging around I found this:
Code:
<td id="imgwindow" name="imgwindow" align="center" valign="middle"><img src="" id="slide" style="border:1px solid white;">

i have 5 main divs in the above screen as Header, menu, content, login, footer. so i applied the corner plugin for it as,
$('#header').corner();
$('#menu').corner();
$('#content').corner();

Does anyone here know of the javascript I'd use in a situation where I didn't want to display a certain image when the client is using IE6? I'm fine with displaying it in IE7 and Firefox, but don't want it displayed in IE6. The image is a PNG with a transparent background.

I have an imagemap that I am using to collect user ratings (the image is of a gradient, and the more to the right they click, the higher the rating). I want to essentially keep the same functionality with a small addition:
I want a slider image to display under the user's mouse when the user is hovering over the imagemap, and I want it to move horizontall whenever the user's mouse moves over the imagemap. This would make the imagemap look like a slider, except the user would still be able to instantly rate without needing to drag a slider (it would simply follow his/her mouse).
I'm not very familiar with JavaScript, though. If anyone could give me an idea how to write something like this or possibly write some sample code, I would be very grateful. I imagine that something like this is very simple (i.e. just taking the user's horizontal mouse coordinates and overlaying an image), but I really do need help writing it. I don't want to sound lazy, but the project I'm working on has more to do with server-side programming, so it wouldn't be a good idea for me to spend a few days learning all about JavaScript in order to accomplish this small bit of functionality.

I have a half dozen bookmarks for rounded corner plugins, but am wondering if there's a "state of the art" plugin kicking any booty on that these days? What I'd *really* like is to just be able to set -moz border radiuses in CSS and have a plugin magically use those to create rounded corners in IE and Safari (IE mainly... using excanvas or something with it is fine, too).
