IE, Chrome, and Safari all display this page correctly[url]...
here is what i mean by Firefox displays it incorrectly
in firefox:
1) type 'f' into the search field
2) you should move over to a youtube video
3) now click the Search tab at the bottom
4) you should notice the a portion of the video remains visable.
the site uses jquery for the slider.

I am trying to make a simple image change involving an animated gif using javascript. After 5 seconds, the original image (which is simply a transparent pixel gif) changes to an animated gif.
in the body:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
[Code]...
I know this isn't a problem with the gif itself, because displaying the gif in firefox does not produce any issues. Does anyone know why these problems are occurring in firefox? I'd like not to have to use a broken src link to make it work, and it's weird that that's a way to solve the animation issues.

This is a really awesome script that I'm sure all of you can put to use if you haven't yet heard of it. However, I'm trying to get it to fade a background image on my css styled navigation for my a:hover. Here is the script with a little simple tutorial on how to set it up: [URL] My only other knowledge is in PHP, so after about 2 hours of fail in this client-side language
This is the link to my site so far: [URL] You can see the script working as it is on my little yellow MW logo on the right side of the navigation. So in my scenario, I am looking to fade button.png to button-hover.png (both repeating on the x axis).

The objective is to have an image fade to another one progressivly while the mouse is over, when its not it fades back to the original, whether or not it faded to the target completely or not. That is, if it takes 1 second to fade completely to the other image, and you take your mouse off it at 0.5 seconds, it will begin to fade back to the original. I have a problem where I want to give this ability to multiple images (thumbnails) on a page, without having reams and reams of code and instead just have one function accomadate any number of images.

I am trying to get the following image fade code to work but can't seem to figure out what the problem is. The images appear quickly (don't fade one to the other) in Firefox and Google and in IE8 when the image fades, even though the images are the same size, the new image starts out smaller and grows to the final size.
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!-- Begin
// Set slideShowSpeed (milliseconds)

I've been trying to figure this out for days.. I just found a script that Old Pedant made which is close to what i need: [URL] But two concerns:
1. how can i have it so when i click the thumbnail, it fades in a different image (rather than just a larger version of the thumbnail)?
2. how can i have it fade in and out from simply hovering over the thumbnail (rather than clicking it)?

I need to fade an image into another one using javascript, without any looping or cycling. So just one fade after x number of seconds. Can easily be done on Flash, but I want browser compatibility for mobile users who dont have Flash support. Also I do not know any javascript at all! I just want to add this effect to the site.

I want to display an image using javascript instead of HTML (or use javascript to change the HTML code dynamically when an update is made). I have created an XML file, which contains text data which is displayed in HTML by using Javascript.What I am having trouble with is getting Javascript to grab the image URL from the XML file, and then display that image in the correct div. How does one show an image by using javascript? and how do you get javascript to get the url from the XML?
So what I want to do is create a function that grabs the url (relative) from the PIC tag in the XML ("newssmall.jpg") and then uses this URL to display the image on the HTML page.This way, only the XML needs updating when updating the news section of the site.

<img src="ball.gif" style="filter:alpha(opacity=50); -moz-opacity:0.5">
Is there a way I can alter / adjust this so that the left hand side of the image is say 75% opacity and then it fades to 25% on the right hand side?

I'm having problems displaying images on a site. Basically I have a to change an image each time a button is pressed on a piece of hardware. This is the code to detect a button press
// Check Button
tstileo = new Image();
tstilec = new Image();
tstileo.src = '/images/1.jpg';
tstilec.src = '/images/2.jpg';
document.getElementById('btn0').innerHTML = (getXMLValue(xmlData, 'btn0') == 'up') ? document.Image=(tstileo): document.Image=(tstilec);
So when the button is pressed/unpressed it should display tstileo and tstilec What format should my HTML code be to display the image ? This is whats there at the moment
<span id="btn0">?</span></p>
When running all I get is text saying [OBJECT HTMLImageElement] This site is being hosted on a microchip, btn0 is a press button switch on the board. The idea is to use this as a remote monitoring system. It runs Javascript XML HTML and CSS. I have spent hours searching for a way to do this ( simple ? ) task but haven't got any further than this. :confused:

The images are running from a javascript script, and I HAVE the title available to the javascript (it, like everything else, is in a two dimensional array the javascript is using)...In my rummaging around I found this:
Code:

I'm making a landing page and wanted to fade a css background image (actually 2 of that part of my divs)
<body>
<div id="outer_wrapper">
<div id="inner_wrapper">
<div class="content_info"></div>
</div>
</div>
I couldn't find an exact example or of a way to do this. I've been struggling on this for hours. All I'm trying to do is fade in those divs after a certain time has passed (like 5secs after the page loads)

So I wrote a code to simply display an image when a link is rolled over:
[URL]
The problem (which you may have already noticed) is that when you rollover the two links fast, the images appear below each other. What I want to do is find a way to make the images appear on top of each other so it will look more like they're crossfading without changing the shape of the site.
