Say I had a <div>. I want it to be the exact height of from the top lft corner of the screen to the bottom right. Not 100% height, but top left to bottom right. That distance. It has to work for all resolutions so is there some formula for that?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI want to find a way to place a button at the bottom right corner of an image. The button should still be inside the image, not under the image. How? I know how to create a link button using FORM and INPUT tag, but can I use innerHtml to insert the button into the IMG tag? If not, how to do it? I tried, but the button is always outside the image.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to have a Back To Top button in the bottom right corner of the viewport. I figured that Javascript would be used for this, and after some searching, I found this Jump To Top Link script at DynamicDrive. I'm sure I could easily change its appearance from a link to a button but I don't like the jerky scrolling effect. I wondered if you guys could explain to me how to make the button (or link in the script's case) stay in the bottom right corner of the viewport at all times instead of scrolling?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to find out how to center an element on a form that scrolls. I have code (below) that displays a dialog, but I can't figure out how to make sure the dialog is centered on the page when the dialog displays as the user scrolls down the page. The dialog is displayed from a click on a href tag. I thought I could get the x,y coordinates where the href was click, but can't figure out how to center since the href can be at either the upper or low end of the page when it shown.

For simplicity and debugging, I attempt to display an apple when the mouse passes over the center of an image.In IE, the mouseover hand shows as the mouse passes over the center of the image and the apple is displayed.In FF, the mouseover hand shows as the mouse passes over the center of the image but the apple does not display.(By the way, I'm certain the showhide function is fine,

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a script to open a new window and center it on the screen (to expand a photo). The problem is that when you click the link, it opens the new small window in the top-left corner, then moves it to the center.
Is there anyway to have it just load in the center? It doesn't look professional moving mid-load.
I want to make an image map (or maps) with links in certain areas of the picture (or pictures). This of course will be done in HTML. However, I want these links to be clickable only if they are in the center of the screen, like maybe in a "box" with customizable dimensions. The user will scroll around the page to navigate through the whole picture(s). If the user wants to go to a certain page, he/she will scroll the page to put the link in the center of the page and click on the link.

I hired a programmer to develop a drag and drop system for my blog. The user should be able to browse one of my blog entries and click, drag and drop an image from my entry to a fixed bottom bar on that page.The problem we are facing is that when dragging an image, it wont place it on the bottom bar until the whole page is scrolled down to the bottom of the page. This is a problem because some of the pages can be very lengthy

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get some thumbnail images that are displayed with ClueTip to be centered vertically & horizontally. The images are various sizes, though none is larger than 150px on a side, so I set ClueTip to have a width & height of 200px. The images are wrapped in a div so that I can have them display: none by default, yet assign display: block to the images themselves.
div.DownloadStatsThumb { display: none; vertical-align: middle; }
img.DownloadStatsThumb { display: block; margin: auto; }
The markup looks like so:
<a href="#" rel="#thumb_456" title="">foo</a>
<div class="DownloadStatsThumb" id="thumb_456">
<img src="/path/to/some/image.jpg"
width="150" height="101" alt="thumbnail image"
class="DownloadStatsThumb" />
</div>
The images are always aligned left & top. Eventually, I figured out that it was div#cluetip-inner that was the culprit. While the outer div has a height and width, the inner div has display:inline-block and so was shrinking down to the img size, essentially. I then added:
onActivate: function(e){
$('#cluetip-inner')
.css('display', 'block')
.css('width', '186px')
.css('height', '186px')
.css('vertical-align', 'middle')
.css('background-color', '#000');
return true;
}
The 186px is to avoid getting scrollbars and the BG color is to assure myself that it's resizing ok. However, the images remain centered horizontally only. Is there something else I've missed?
I'm looking for a cross-browser (IE, Netscape, Mozilla/FireFox, Opera, Safari) javascript that will keep an image (or <div>) in the lower right corner of the browser window whenever part of the web page has been scrolled vertically. I did find a script on the internet that was supposed to fit my needs, but I found it didn't work as advertised. (I included that script below.)
Requirements:
- I'm using "Frames" and the frame I want the image/div to appear in is the main content frame that sits against the right and bottom edges of the browser window. So the lower right corner of the browser window is the same as the lower right corner of my frame.
- (optional) If the frame content is small enough such that there are no scrollbars or if the page has not been scrolled vertically, then I don't want the image (or <div>) to appear.
- the placement of the image/div needs to take into account the width of the scrollbar(s).
- my focus is to display a button in this lower right corner that, when clicked, will scroll the page to the top.
I found the following script on another site that claims it would do most of this, cross browser, but I was only able to make it work with IE (and I'm using IE 6.0). When I tried it with Netscape 7.1, Firefox 1.0 (Mozilla 5.0) and Opera 7.54, the button didn't float as the page scrolled. I checked browser settings and javascript is turned on for all the browsers.
Can someone point me to a javascript that will do what I'm looking for, or help me understand why the following script isn't working cross browser? I've worked with javascript and the DOM somewhat, but am not a Master of the subject matter, especially when it comes to cross browser issues.
Thanks, and here are the instructions and script that I mentioned above (that I had founed from another site):

Here is the code that is controlling say "Bullet" (under Small Arms).

I'm very new with Javascript, and I've been inserting a little here and there in some of the web pages I'm developing. but now I'm stuck on something that is probably pretty simple: display the value of a form field at the bottom of the page. I suspect it has something to do with Class and the DOM, but I'm still learning how those are related. Process of events: user enters a number into a form field. a javascript multiplies their entry with another value and displays the result in large type at the bottom of the screen.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I click on a button, it should display below the button a random randomStrings(AAA, AAB, AAC, AAD, or AAE). The problem is that when I click on the button nothing is being displayed. Instead it just re-opens the web page I am on.
How can I get it so that when I click on the button, a randomStrings appears at the bottom.
question 2 is that in the future I want the randomStrings to display AAA, AAB, AAC ... all the way to ZZZ. Is there a shorter way to display the randomStrings than just AAA, AAB, AAC and so on.

I thought this would be easy but I'm stuck and I can't describe what's really simple so I've drawn a diagram. [URL]. I have a div containing an image like 1 in the diagram. I only want to show the top of the image like 2 in the diagram. When I hover over the div I want the image to scroll up to show the bottom of the image like 3 in the diagram. [URL].
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"[URL]">
<html xmlns="[URL]" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>
<title>untitled</title>
<style type="text/css" media="screen">
*{
margin:0;
padding:0;
}
#wrap{
margin:50px;
width:700px;
}
ul{
list-style:none;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div id="wrap">
<ul>
<li><a href="#" id="one"><img src="img.gif" width="250" height="200"/></a></li>
</ul>
</div>
<script src="[URL]"type="text/javascript"></script>
<script>
$('li').hover(function(){
$(this).find('img').animate({top: + (-200) + 'px'},200);
})
return false;
</script>
</body>
</html>
This is meant to be a very simple animation. Everything seems to be correct, but it doesn't seem to run. Basically it is a system where the image is 50px taller than the box it is being displayed in. When you hover over the image, the image is meant to move up via jquery to show the bottom (previously hidden) 50px and cut off the top 50px.
Here is my Site: [URL]
Here is my HTML:
Code:
<div id="container"><div>
<a class="none" href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><img src="/themes/smo/portfolio/<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, 'portfolio_img',true).".gif"; ?>" alt="" /></a>
</div></div>
Here is the Jquery:
Code:
$(function(){
$("div.container div a").hover(function(){
$("img", this).stop().animate({top:"-51px"},{queue:false,duration:200});
}, function() {
$("img", this).stop().animate({top:"0px"},{queue:false,duration:200});
});
I think its something to do with the container class.
