JQuery :: Menu Action Not Clearing Screen Display?

I have a menu (structured in the old fashion UL/LI fashion) that is being controlled by jquery. Initial item selection operates as advertised. But when a "user" selects another menu item, the screen (div) does not reinitalize and react to the click of the new item.Here is my online site that I am working on.In my menu, only the Chemical and Small Arms items are programmed. Here is the code that is controlling say "Bullet" (under Small Arms).

my spring mvc controller dumps a map variable to the jsp page.MyController.java

I have a navigational element that is distinct from the rest of my navigation and is a graphical icon. Therefore, I'm not using the standard <li> elements to display it. I'm simply using an <img> tag. The <li> tag for that nav element is not being displayed. I do however want the subnav to display when you mouse over the image. I have been looking for a plug in and/or a name for this type of menu hover effect. Seems like I have seen this all over then as soon as I try to find one to show someone I cant locate it. to this point I haven't been able to describe what i was going for but now I just came across this site which has a similar menu as the one I am trying to build. here is the site: [URL]at the top the menu and the way the hover slides from button to button.

My aplication starts with a simple login window (login_page.aspx). Once
the login/password is validated I redirect to an html which contains 3 frames.
(mywebsite.html)
The web site I am working on has 3 frames: left frame is for the
menu, top frame is where the user enter the search criteria and main
frame is where the results are displayed.
I want to display the login screen as soon as the Session Timeout
expires, so I realized I should redirect to the login page when the session
ends. (Global.asax in VB . Net, I Included code in session_end function)
The problem I am having is that the login window is open in the last
frame used, and I want to delete the frames. I mean I want to display the login page
in a normal document without frames in the same active web browser screen.

I am having serious problems over a JavaScript function. I have 2 x 2 dimensional arrays of data to display on the screen, each array being 18 x 18. The arrays and displaying them is working fine, I have 2 lots of X and Y variable (LocX1, LocY1, LocX2 and LocY2) which I use to reference the cells of the arrays.
I have 2 similar (but not identical) functions to move around these arrays using links on the screen.

As you can see, I have tried multiplying the variable by 1, adding zero and using the Number command. All other directions work fine and all links are identical, just passing a different 'direction' through an onClick.
P.s. I miss placed this post before, and it was sugested I re-check the links that set the functions off. They are all identical (all 8), except for the 'north' 'south' etc. bit.

We are conducting a ceremony in an Auditorium where 336 People are gathered and afterwards we want to choose 20 of them randomly. We want to display the whole act of choosing them via projectors on the auditorium screen with a little animation. Basically the concept of the animation goes like this:

I developed a dropdown menu using Spry (Adobe Dreamweaver). It is a vertical menu with multiple sub-menus.Some lists are very long and the menu goes below and off the page.I found a great example of what I want my menu to do: Coins Paper Money | eBayOn the side, it says "Browse By:" and there is a vertical menu. If I shrink the page up vertically a little and watch the sub-menus pop out, I notice they get pushed up if the parent is close to the bottom of the screen, which ensures that none of the options go off the page, they get pushed up.

A UI built using HTML and CSS has limited screen space. One of the elements is a div tag (<div id="mtext">) that will contain text of variable length. If the text is > 500 characters, I am displaying it as a link. When the user clicks the link, I want the text to be displayed in a layer above all the rest of the elements in the page. How can this be done using javascript..

i'm having with a superfish menu i have tried to add to my wordpress site.The menu seems to work fine for the base-level (top parent pages) menu items.But the drop down menus seem to flash on screen for just a second and then disappear when the mouse hovers over the menu items.To see an example, please check out the top menu on this temporary development page: http:[url].....I have tried adjusting the z-index in superfish.css file but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.

I installed a template on the following site and did not actually write the javascript dropdown menu seen at the top of [url]
The problem is that if parent list items Ministries and Parish Leadership have enough children, they expand out right off of the screen of low resolution setups.
I am totally new to javascipt programming so excuse my ignorance when I ask how to make the children items to expand out left instead of right if it's detected that the menu has hit the right side of the browser window.

I have come across a very interesting problem that seems to be impossible to solve. Basically a web application that I am working on relies on a JavaScript function called go to change the input named view to the page name and submit the form. This form's type is post, so no values are included in the actual URL string. There is also another input called action and it's value is view. This is to tell the application that the user would like to view a page. The problem is because of the variables being of method post, page refreshes and back and forwards return errors because the post variables view and action aren't sent with the required data. To somewhat solve this problem I have created a feature that tells the application that if the post value page is empty then to try and get a GET var called page. To insert this var into the go javascript function I simple add this code
document.go.action = document.go.action+"&page="+page;
This line basically adds &page=[page] to the action of the form. The problem is, this code doesn't work because action is also the name of a form element. Referencing document.go.action refers to the input element named action and not to the form's action. Changing the named of the action input value is out of the question (Way to much changing of code, and possible room for error). What can I do to change the action of the form without referencing the input named action. Here is my go form and the JavaScript code:

Love this menu. This menu will be appearing in module on right hand side of page. So I need the submenu to display on left, not right. So how to make this a right to left menu? I've played around a bit and have had no luck yet. I've used the navbar on another site and I'd really like to use this vertical menu too.

I'm building some forms, and when they are submitted, I'd like to integrate a method that will fade out the screen a bit, and show an animated "processing" .gif. Basically when the "submit" button is pressed, the form is being submitted to it's destination. The page will hang on the form until the next page is ready to load. While it's hanging there after submitting, I'd like the screen to fade out, and display an image in the center of the screen. I'm hoping this can be achieved with CSS, as I try to use as little Javascript as possible.What's the best way to achieve this? I figure if anything a javascript "onsubmit" function will be a good start. Can the screen be faded with CSS?

So I have a form with a few tables in it. One of these tables is to enter new values, and the rest of the tables are to update existing values. I need to be able to empty all values of elements within the table for entering new values on a button click, but I'm having trouble doing this with jquery.
I'm trying to find all elements inside of the table with id of "new_details" and then set all text box values to "" and uncheck all checkboxes but I'm not getting anywhere.

By luck I had somehow found a way to collect data with a form, perform
calculations with JavaScript and display the form and calculated
results on the same screen.
Now I can't figure out how to do that again. The only methods of
reporting the calculation results seem to display a completely new
screen/window.
I just want to collect some numeric input data with slider widgets or
text boxes for an alternate method and display additional calculated
results 'real time' as the slider is adjusted. If this can't be done,
after a text box entry is made. Ideally the results would display
without a 'submit' button click.

I have the following code that I'm using to cycle through each element in a form field, and clear whatever text is in it. If the user clicks out of the field without typing anything then the script is supposed to return to whatever value it started with (e.g. "Enter your name...").
