I have been looking for a plug in and/or a name for this type of menu hover effect. Seems like I have seen this all over then as soon as I try to find one to show someone I cant locate it. to this point I haven't been able to describe what i was going for but now I just came across this site which has a similar menu as the one I am trying to build. here is the site: [URL]at the top the menu and the way the hover slides from button to button.

i'm new to the forum and also to javascript.i'm having a problem that seems very simple, yet i cant get it to work the thing is i wan't to put in my website a Mailchimp form so users can subscribe to my email list. i've used the form they provide, but in the form there is several checkboxes were the subscriber can select wich subjects he is interest to receive email from us and the the bottom of this checkboxes there is an option "all of them".so what i want is when the person clicks on the "all of them" option all others gets unchecked and disabled ( that's because i want him to subscribe to the list "all" and not to all lists)
I am trying to create a specific menu using jQuery where i want to toggle a clicked menu item. I used toggleClass to accomplish this. All fine and well, but what i want is that once i click a menu item, the previously clicked item should have the active state/class toggled off.. The menu is variable. (I tried and tried and searched all over the internet, but i cannot find it... spent 5 hours trying to combine various selectors and if/else statements, but it did'nt work.)
How do I go about constructing a action menu which will be a dropdown when user clicks on the table row? I would like to dynamically construct the menu based on the row user selected/clicked and position the menu as a dropdown on the row.Any pointers on how to position the menu or links to tutorials?
I have a menu (structured in the old fashion UL/LI fashion) that is being controlled by jquery. Initial item selection operates as advertised. But when a "user" selects another menu item, the screen (div) does not reinitalize and react to the click of the new item.Here is my online site that I am working on.In my menu, only the Chemical and Small Arms items are programmed. Here is the code that is controlling say "Bullet" (under Small Arms).
I have an AJAX script which is used for a "live search" type function.When a user begins to type their search, after 3 characters, my AJAX script jumps into action and shows them a list of possible results.I has worked fine for months, and now suddenly I have found that it is causing a javascript error.I have traced the error down to the "open" call... ie: this.xmlHttp.open("GET", url, true);Like I said, this has worked for ages and I haven't changed these files since I got them working.
provide me with code to make a collapsible menu? What I'm looking for is a vertical menu, that will open up the sub-categories upon a mouseover. Clicking on the menu item will bring them to the specific page. Oh, and this might not matter, but I'd prefer if I was able to style the menu to fit with my site theme.
Some time back we assembled an Explore-type menu system (tree of folders) for a client site which has grown to be a pivotal function of the site in that deep navigation into the South African Education Law all hangs off this structure.
From our side, it has all worked perfectly and the client is about to launch the site, but claims that he has continual problems with some folders opening to pages where files cannot be found, and the menu system then locks up. Fine.... accept that. Except that we cannot replicate the problem. On several machines we have opened the tree structure hundreds of times, and with never a single problem.
The first indication the client has of a problem is when the site loads, and some of the "plus signs" (used to indicate that there are underlying folders) do not show. Just the red background. But if you mouse over where the "plus sign" should be - then the "hand icon" appears and the correct link is shown in the URL box. But if you click to the link it shows "done" but the link won't load. Reverse back to the menus and the buttons now no longer work and most don't display.
This seems to be happening only within the client's site which is a simple Windows Network connecting through a broadband DSL router to the internet. He claims that on three different office machines he can replicate the problem.
The problem is intermittant and will often work fine for an extended session. next visit to the site and the problems will be back.
Could this be a caching issue.? Or older Java engines.? Maybe we should be using a more universal javascripting routine. Sadly our in-house java skills are low and we've just hacked away at public scrips to get this working.....
I have come across a very interesting problem that seems to be impossible to solve. Basically a web application that I am working on relies on a JavaScript function called go to change the input named view to the page name and submit the form. This form's type is post, so no values are included in the actual URL string. There is also another input called action and it's value is view. This is to tell the application that the user would like to view a page. The problem is because of the variables being of method post, page refreshes and back and forwards return errors because the post variables view and action aren't sent with the required data. To somewhat solve this problem I have created a feature that tells the application that if the post value page is empty then to try and get a GET var called page. To insert this var into the go javascript function I simple add this code
This line basically adds &page=[page] to the action of the form. The problem is, this code doesn't work because action is also the name of a form element. Referencing document.go.action refers to the input element named action and not to the form's action. Changing the named of the action input value is out of the question (Way to much changing of code, and possible room for error). What can I do to change the action of the form without referencing the input named action. Here is my go form and the JavaScript code:
I have to change text input type to password input type and i am using jquery script. This script work for FF, Chrome and Safari browser but not worked on ie7, ie8.
Script is as:-
How can i update my script, so that it works cross the browser.
What is happening is $(this) is no longer based on .expand being the (this) that is clicked.
like if i have a button SOMEWHERE randomly on the page with this
<div onclick="Minimize('_alerts');">Click Here</div> this will minimize alerts but because the (this) in minimize function doesn't actually point to the right button that I want to add a class to.
Is there a way to modify the minimize function so that it finds the <div id="mytoggle"><ul> <li class="expand boxminimize" rel="_alerts"> using the rel toggle, and then changes the class of the li from expand boxminimize to boxexpanded??
just like the .expand click function I posted on the top of the post that works?
Another thing that has been driving me crazy is that css positioning is handled differently by different browsers. JS is not my area, but I can do a lot with CSS, and I do, but cross browser compatibility is killing me.
I can use an IF IE statement and only IE runs that segment of code, but I haven't been able to figure out out how to make ONLY firefox or ONLY opera or safari enact an encapsulated segment of code. The same type of IF statement doesn't work for them.
Is there a single method using JS that works for all browsers?
function result(){ var result = document.getElementById('resss').innerHTML; }
But what I actually want is to import data from a table of an external website. E.g. I want to get the innerHTML of a specific cell in column 3 and row 2 of a specific site.
I have a very weired problem (which is not easy to describe.. but I'll do my best):I have a html page with several forms , only one of the got the action="ComputeAndReturn" and the other forms got only name="" tag.the problem is that after i submit the form with the action , and than after a computatioon it returns to the original page, now... if i will submit any of the forms without the action=.they will act as if they were defined action="ComputeAndReturn" (altho they are not!)if they were defined from the first time with action="anything", and than i would submit the form with action="ComputeAndReturn" this problem would not appear (the other forms will keep their action="anything" and would not "imitate" the action= "Compute AndReturn" to them selfs...
any ideas how can i keep my forms without action="" , cause all i need them to do is be submitted to pass the submitted value to other form inside that page.[code]
I know how to invoke a URL with jQuery. How to do the reverse? Can a URL will lead to execute the following jQuery code just as the signin division is clicked?
The problem is that the height of the second level menu results in their being gaps in between each menu item so that as you move your mouse down the second menu items it quickly closes again. scripting novice fix this by telling me which variable I need to change either in the Java script or the CSS files.
How can I add an action to html generated by javascript?In the example below I add a link with the class 'example' to a div after a click on the 'test' link. (this is still working fine).Now, when I click the example link, nothing happens. How can I make this work?
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/ xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html lang="nl">
I set them all to hide - and provide a link to (show) each of them I need to make it so that the {click} of a link shows the corresponding paragraph AND hides the other paragraphs.
my spring mvc controller dumps a map variable to the jsp page.MyController.java
Map map=new HashMap(); map.put("optionMap",optionMap;// value of variable optionMap is like//key=optionGroup1, value="<option value="abc">abc</option><option value="def">def</option>"
there is a single selector in the jsp page. which has two options "optionGroup1", and "optionGroup2" respectively.when user click optionGroup1, value of ptionMap.optiongGroup1 will be inserted in a multiple selector
