JQuery :: Simple Animation - Image Move Up To Show Bottom
Mar 30, 2010
This is meant to be a very simple animation. Everything seems to be correct, but it doesn't seem to run. Basically it is a system where the image is 50px taller than the box it is being displayed in. When you hover over the image, the image is meant to move up via jquery to show the bottom (previously hidden) 50px and cut off the top 50px.
Here is my Site: [URL]
Here is my HTML:
Code:
<div id="container"><div>
<a class="none" href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><img src="/themes/smo/portfolio/<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, 'portfolio_img',true).".gif"; ?>" alt="" /></a>
</div></div>
Here is the Jquery:
Code:
$(function(){
$("div.container div a").hover(function(){
$("img", this).stop().animate({top:"-51px"},{queue:false,duration:200});
}, function() {
$("img", this).stop().animate({top:"0px"},{queue:false,duration:200});
});
I think its something to do with the container class.
I thought this would be easy but I'm stuck and I can't describe what's really simple so I've drawn a diagram. [URL]. I have a div containing an image like 1 in the diagram. I only want to show the top of the image like 2 in the diagram. When I hover over the div I want the image to scroll up to show the bottom of the image like 3 in the diagram. [URL].
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "[URL]"> <html xmlns="[URL]" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>
My div has this CSS on it: {height:300px;overflow-y:scroll;overflow-x:hidden;}
After loading some content with append() I want the scrollbar to move to the bottom of the div so the last row of the recently added content is visible, as if the user had moved the scrollbar to the bottom manually. I have tried all the obvious solutions: //lets assume I've got the height as vHeight from scrollHeight and it equals 800 $(elem).scrollTop(vHeight); $(elem).attr('scrollTop',vHeight); $(elem).animate({scrollTop: 800}, 'slow');
None works. I also tried using the DOM as in document.getElementById('elemId').scrollTop = vHeight. Nothing sets the scrollTop property.
I am currently studying javascript - talk about a whole new world!!I need a simple code for a web page where the thumb images are lined up and when the mouse moves over the image, a larger size of the image is shown above the smaller images.
I have spent hours on the net trying to find something, but can only find either overly complicated or having to download plugins.
My question explains everything, I have a div inside a parent div. I need to move it inside another div and on the UI show the animation of it moving.
The only way I can think of is, select the element, copy the html(), copy the offset() position and remove element from original container. then add a copy of previously removed element to page/document set the position to the copied offset and animate()
After animation is complete, remove it from the page and add it to the secondary container.
Is there any better and easier way of doing this ? any plugin may be ?
I am working on a ajax chat system right now and I've ran into a little problem. I have no idea how to go about doing this but I know there has to be a way of doing this because I've seen it done before on other ajax chats I've seen. How do I ago about moving the scrollbar of a div to the bottom so that it shows the last that has been entered into the chat.
If you need me to explain more then just let me know. But basically I'm wanting the scrollbar when it overflows in the window of a div to go and to the bottom when someone enters something new to the chat.
I am trying to include Dock MAC style Menu in my page which is floating.Here I am facing a problem is, when we hover on menu icon, without scrolling page at bottom, the menu iconsare not getting bigger in size, as it should be.And when you reached at bottom, moving scrollbar down, those icon gets bigger when we hoverI have placed the script just before the end of body tag. I also tried placing the code in starting of body tag, then the reverse thing happen. The icon gets bigger without moving scrollbar down and when we move to bottom, or scroll, the effects lost.
I have a roll-over image at the top of one of my web pages, I want it that when you click on it, the page moves to the bottom and sets focus in the first text-field in the first form. Its a contact button, with the first field being name, I've tried for like 3 hours solid and getting very fed up.
I am trying to create an Image menu for a site I'm working on that is rather simple in essence. When the user hovers over a button I have the menu will move left or right depending. I have not got a great deal into it yet as I have become stuck, as I'm new I figured it would be easier to troubleshoot if I build up the program bit by bit.
The link is here [URL] Click on description. Move the scroll bar on the right to the bottom and then click on description again. Instead of the thumbnails scrolling up to hide the description, the main image and header move down. Any tips on addressing this. My brains are a bit frazzled at the moment. Do I need to fix the vertical scroll position somehow. What properties do I need to be looking at? (Note : I'm currently animating the height property of the description box.) Second question. I did have auto margins in the wrapper centering the page. When you click on description it causes the scrollbar on the right to appear, which shifts the page over to the left. I've since fixed the margin, but again is there a way around this so that I can center the page again?
The main one I find is to use translate to move the canvas around, which just seems odd to me. I don't even fully understand how it works. But the one I was looking at used clearRect. In examples given looked as though it had to redraw the canvas every frame. I'm just mucking around with a simple poker game, figured I'd have the table in one layer and anything that moves on a top layer? By doing that I could only clear each card as it moved around...yes?
I hired a programmer to develop a drag and drop system for my blog. The user should be able to browse one of my blog entries and click, drag and drop an image from my entry to a fixed bottom bar on that page.The problem we are facing is that when dragging an image, it wont place it on the bottom bar until the whole page is scrolled down to the bottom of the page. This is a problem because some of the pages can be very lengthy
I am a newbie in programming...recently I have developed a very simple (probably too simple!!!) javascript code that trims strings and shows animation....the code should be self explanatory....and i have included comments in the snippet so everyone understands what I did....just save the txt file as .html and double click to see the output in browser...
I have a simple hide and fadeIn. When you rollover a word it will reveal the definition. The problem I am having is if you move the mouse around quickly from one word to the next word sometimes it gets hung up and a definition will not hide. The result gives this hanging defintion and whatever the other definition the mouse is rolledover.
Here is the code I'm using:
There are about 70 words in a box with the definition being reveals on the right hand side. Is there a way of making sure there is always only one definition being shown?
I'm trying to graph line with a delay between each line drawn - my code is: var jg = new jsGraphics('Canvas'); jg.setColor('maroon'); jg.drawLine(40,130,80,120); setTimeout('jg.paint()',10000); jg.drawLine(80,120,120,110); setTimeout('jg.paint()',10000); Unfortunately it draws all the lines at the same time i.e the setTimeout function doesn't like the paint method.
What I want to do is have 5 <div>s displayed in a fixed position on my page. The divs will contain text and pictures. Only one div is displayed at a time, and every 5 seconds, the next div slides over the top of the current div (from right to left) until it is completely obscured. At the conclusion of the fifth, it starts again with number 1.
I'm trying to attempt a simple animation, as indicated by the following code. The intention is to move the object (a paragraph element node with id message) to the right by 200 px and down 100 px, by 1 px a second.
However, there seems to be a bug or my methodology is incomplete as the browser returns the Textvalue of the paragraph without any styling.
I'm trying to make a simple page where I can move a div around by hovering the mouse over the different links. My problem is it wont stop once activated.
i have a slideshow at [URL] which utilizes the following code. how can i get rid of the fade effect and just have one image transition to the next cleanly with no fade animation?
/* * jQuery Cycle Plugin for light-weight slideshows * Examples and documentation at: http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/ * Copyright (c) 2007 M. Alsup
I'm working on a page, where I want to use jQuery to build a "Portfolio" div that contains pics and info about some of my work. I found a bunch of cool tutorials about making a slide show, but they all have a sliding animation. With my page, the sliding animation would look awkward. I'm fine if it just replaces the current div with the next one. I'm just planning on using a previous and next button (Within the same div) to cycle through these.
I want to have a big image and say 5 small thumbnails underneath. When the user clicks a thumbnail, the image loads where the previous big image was. Is there a standard way to do this?
ill admit im extremely new to jquery i come from the flex/flash world and looking to see what the hype is allo about. with that being said. im trying to perform a simple screen scroll after all this code has run but nothing seems to work
I have a series of links on a page whereby when the user hovers over the title then an image appears next to the link so it basically shows/hides the image on mouseenter and mouseout. I'm presuming this is a fairly basic jQuery request but I've been hunting around for a while now and can only seem to find more complex examples that I can't seem to disect.
The code in my page is:
So when the user hovers over the "Link" then it will show "myimage.jpg" next to the link.
