Display The Value Of A Form Field At The Bottom Of The Page
Mar 5, 2011
I'm very new with Javascript, and I've been inserting a little here and there in some of the web pages I'm developing. but now I'm stuck on something that is probably pretty simple: display the value of a form field at the bottom of the page. I suspect it has something to do with Class and the DOM, but I'm still learning how those are related. Process of events: user enters a number into a form field. a javascript multiplies their entry with another value and displays the result in large type at the bottom of the screen.
I have a standard HTML form that asks the user for a dollar amount and a payment date. On the same page I want to display some acknowledgement text which displays to the user what they entered above.
For example, lets say the user entered 10.00 as the dollar amount, and 03/01/2011 as the payment date in separate HTML form text fields. Right before the submit button I would like to display to the user "By clicking on the submit button below, I agree to pay $10.00 to Company, Inc. on 03/01/2011".
I'm sure this can be done using jQuery... I'm just having a hard time finding an example.
I have a form with three fields. When the user changes the value of field1, the form displays either field2 or field3. This works fine for NEW records.However, I'm running into a problem when trying to EDIT an existing record. When the form is loaded, I need to test the value of field1 and display either field2 or field3. I've tried using the form onload event, but do not know how to access the value of field1.I'm using Javascript and div tags.This is what I have so far.
<script type="text/javascript"> function hide(obj) obj1 = document.getElementById(obj);
I hired a programmer to develop a drag and drop system for my blog. The user should be able to browse one of my blog entries and click, drag and drop an image from my entry to a fixed bottom bar on that page.The problem we are facing is that when dragging an image, it wont place it on the bottom bar until the whole page is scrolled down to the bottom of the page. This is a problem because some of the pages can be very lengthy
When I run the following code the script will not display the second id field from the form: function enCrypt( code ){ var form = document.getElementById( 'myForm' ); document.write(form.cipher.value); document.write(form.msgcode.value); } // end function enCrypt </script> <form id = "myForm" action = ""> <p>Enter cipher : <input id = "cipher" type = "text" /></p> <p>Enter message : <input id = "msgcode" type = "text" /></p> <p>Result : <input id = "result" type = "text" /></p> <input type = "button" value = "Encrypt" onclick = "enCrypt()" />
I thought this would be fairly easy. I want a line to be displayed on the bottom of each book image when the mouse pointer moves over them. I am using IE 8 and keep getting this error message: "Object Doesn't support this property and method"
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
when I click on a button, it should display below the button a random randomStrings(AAA, AAB, AAC, AAD, or AAE). The problem is that when I click on the button nothing is being displayed. Instead it just re-opens the web page I am on.
How can I get it so that when I click on the button, a randomStrings appears at the bottom.
question 2 is that in the future I want the randomStrings to display AAA, AAB, AAC ... all the way to ZZZ. Is there a shorter way to display the randomStrings than just AAA, AAB, AAC and so on.
Below is my code
<head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" /> <title>Create a Session</title> <script type="text/javascript">
I am trying to get to where the info from products_page.html in the forms is displayed on order_form2.html at the top above that form, depending on what product is selected. Right now I see parameters in the URL, but do not understand how to display them as they should.
I wish to send the javascript calculated value in a form from one page to another page form. I just need the one value sent. The value is "answer: in the code below. I would like to send it to a form page called "answer.html". I am not a computer person, and I am doing this in frontpage. I do not know how to write java or anything, I just copied this from a free script site and am trying to use it.
Here is the code I have. <table cellspacing=0 width=427 height=1 bgcolor="#FFFFFF" style="border-collapse: collapse" cellpadding="0" border="0"> <tr><td width="634" nowrap height="1"> <script language="JavaScript"> function findcalculatorcalculate(form) { a = form.debt.value - 0; b = form.faith.value - 0; d = a / b; form.answer.value = Math.round (d); } .....
I have a web form with several fields. If I copy & paste from a RTF document into a field, the javascript validation and field length are bypassed and cause the form to fail.
I am currently working on form which let the user submit a small (max 300 char) message.. Now I want the message to display on same page under the form, something like twitter.. I tried a lot using jquery but it is not working.
Can someone please give me idea where and how can I solve this?
this form look up some holiday destination which appears on this page with url: [URL] Now, I dont want to display result on this page, but on page B, in iframe.I found a way how to redirect output as a link to properly show in iframe on page B.
Page A contains:
<a href="pageb.html?http://www.domain.com/find.html?destination=italy&price=500">show on page B</a><br> Page B contains: <script type="text/javascript">
[code]....
In this case page B will properly load requested link in iframe.Problem is it is just a static link... I want to display search result from the form.
The online banking site I use has autofill=no set in their login form, and I recently switched from IE to Safari, which honors this. I'd like my account number to be filled in automatically like IE did (please, no comments on whether this is a good idea or not, I've already had this discussion in another group and I've decided the account number is not something I consider a big secret, since it's visible on every check -- that's what the PIN is for).
I'm trying to do this with a bookmarklet. The following works to fill in the account number and move focus to the PIN field:
(newlines included to make the post easier to read, they're not in the actual bookmarklet).
But this requires me to use two bookmarks, a regular one to load the site, and this one to fill in the field. I'd like a single bookmarklet that does both steps at once. I tried:
I have a page with 2 product forms to add to shopping cart each form has the same fields. when someone changes one of the dropdown boxes depending on the size it is to change the price to a certain value. This works ok whan you only have one form but now that there is two forms. When you change the second form dropdown box it changes the price on the first product.
OnChange='if (this.value<=16)ChangeHiddenPrice(90);' I suspect it has to do with how i reference the form field
function ChangeHiddenPrice(newprice) { document.getElementById('PRICE').value=newprice; }
because of the security settings in browsers i can't set the default path value of a file upload field in a form. i was wondering if there is a way to have javascript type one in when the page loads?
Stuck in the bottom-right corner of this page is a Social Media sharing tool floating over the page content. It's semi-transparency changes upon hover. It grows out from the corner upon hover as well. [URL] I'm thinking it's ShareBar but I don't see anything like it on the ShareBar site.
I want to have several forms on one page that are not displayed until a selection is made from the category drop down box(select element). The form displayed will depend on the selection made. Here is the code I have so far.

I have a form which open in a jQuery Fancybox Window. The fancybox window opens automatically when the page loads. When it loads, I would like it to set focus on the username field in the form in the Fancybox window. I have found that this must be done when fancybox is envoked, thus I have tried the below code which does not work :
the errors show up as necessary; however, when someone does not enter a required field, and the errors show up; the form displays itself at the middle - is there any way, a function I can use, to display the web page at the beginning(top) or at the end(bottom)?
I placed an anchor at the end of my long page inside a top <iframe>.
my entry field is in another iframe at the bottom. when i enter something and hit return, it adds a new line to the html file as well as <a name=END></a> tag (there is only one END tag at the end of the file)
I then request top frame to reload and goto END tag.
sometimes it works, sometimes it won't (IE). Is this normal ? Is it Frame related?
