JQuery :: Cycle -- Hiding And Showing 'prev' And 'next' Links
Sep 15, 2010well, I thought this wasn't a cycle question specifically, but it looks like it is. [URL]
in case it's not ok to just post link to my post about this on "using jQuery" forum:
this is code in cycle plugin to hide "next" nav at last slide, hide "prev" nav at first slide:
$('a#prev')[index == 0 ? 'hide' : 'show']();
$('a#next')[index == opts.slideCount - 1 ? 'hide' : 'show']();
but what if instead of just 'hide' and 'show' I want to call a function (because I want to, let's say, just change the font-color of the link instead of hiding it)? so I did:

May 24, 2009I just discovered that Internet Explorer is not showing the 3rd level of the menu. [URL](very much a work in progress) I believe it's a js issue and not a css one. I've removed all js/ jquery except the menu stuff and the problem still exists. I'm not sure what to do now. I know it should work because the examples on the superfish site do. Also, I just pulled up my test page that I made before integrating the CMS and they don't work there either. Maybe there will be some clue
here because it's the only js/jquery involved. [URL]

Jan 8, 2012I want to develop a multi-tab browser plugin, which requires all links in a page could open in new tabs within this multi-tab browser plugin. It's very similar to Multi-Tab functions of Firefox/IE, when opening a page in one tab, then any links in that Tab will open in another new tab(after setup from pref), i want to know this principle(how to implement this). I am thinking try this:$('a').click(...), while i am not sure whether it's good/enough.

Jquery :: Google Maps API Page Showing Error With IE6 / 7
Oct 22, 2009I have a problem with javascript in IE6/IE7, or specifically with jQuery. There is a page that uses the google maps API which shows an error when you navigate to the website and the page remains blank. When I press refresh I get no error and the page loads as it's supposed to (this happens only ie IE6, IE7/8 appear to work fine). The same thing happens with tinymce and the jquery.tinymce.js plugin, which gives an error in IE6/7 but not in IE8. I can't post the URL since it's a password protected "under construction" website. The error for the Google Maps Api I get in IE6 is

The google maps api page uses $(document).ready( fn ), while TinyMCE uses window.onload. And, as one would expect, in FF, Opera and Chrome all works fine.
JQuery :: Cycle Plugin, All Images In Pool Showing Up When Page Loads?
Jun 1, 2009I'm trying this Cycle Plugin, but whenever I load, lets say I have 5 images in the rotation pool, they all show up (briefly) whenever the page reloads, and then they dissapear (starting the rotation). Is there any way to avoid this? The images I'm using are 960 x 220, so it pretty much fills the screen before it hides.

Jul 12, 2010I tried finding a similar situation in the forums, but was unable to discover anything sepcific. I think I may be way off here, and or trying to do something bizarre, but what I am trying to do is change only part of the the url for all of the links on a page. So say I want to change:
href="/something/something/all"
to
href="/something/something/specific"
I think I need to use each() in combination with attr but I am not exactly sure how. This is what I have so far (with no luck):
$('a').each( {
$(this).attr('href').replace('all','specific');
});
I've successfully changed part of a single link based of it's enclosing div id, but if there is more than one link in the div, it replaces the entire href of all the other links in that div to be the same as the first one. So that's why I think I need to use each(). But again, I'm not sure how to do this properly in this case.

In old school HTML I believe you would use a frame but I know there is a better way to do it using jQuery. Jul 23, 2010I have an unordered list (ul#garment_selector) sitting in a div (div#program_scroller) and each of the list items has a link that I'd like to display an image and some text into a div on the same page. I don't want any fancy animations or anything like that, I just need to display an image and a related description/price into a new div, preferably without reloading. I have quite a few different lists of links and they change all the time so using an array to define the image/text is impractical for my needs.

Aug 6, 2009I'm using a jquery slider for displaying content on a webpage.

Like in the first examples i have 5 panels, and i have a meta navigation, contact, links ect. all thedifferent content for the meta-navigation is displayed via jquery in panel 5, and is working fine.
Now my question; when the user is for example on the second panel, and the clicks on links, the page should show panel 5 (which is the index page(default.asp)), and then show only the content for the links.
I tried different stuff for loading the defautl.asp page, but it doesn't work. how do i tell, that if i click on the link wirh class="kontakt" the page should load the default.asp, and THEN do all the jquery stuff?
Below is one example, what i tried, but did not work.

Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
Hidden Fields Are Showing On Page?
Aug 11, 2009I dynamically create a hidden form field with some javascript. It works fine, the field gets created and filled in with whatever the user types in the prompt popup. But even though I have specified type="hidden" it is still displaying the field contents at the bottom of my form.
