This JavaScript is linked externally and was written to add a hover action to navigation links. It downloads quick and works great, however, the code is written to apply to all image links on the page. I need a declaration that will make the action apply Only to the navigation links. Not sure the best approach here. getElementById,or another var?
JavaScript: window.onload = rolloverInit; function rolloverInit() { for (var i=0; i<document.images.length; i++) {[code].....
I am new to jquery, and love it so far, but I am more of a designer, not a developer. I am learning jquery to enhance my sites, and I am having a problem figuring out buttons.
I have them working in firefox and safari, but in IE links do not work.
Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea how this can be done. I am trying to show/hide navigation links based on server names or ip addresses. So if, someone visits a particular url/ip address he/she sees only a particular set of navigation links. I am sure this can be done using some kind of Java script or VB script, just not sure how. I have two servers with different server names and IP addresses. Based on user's input I need to display the hyperlinks which then directs the user to other utilities. For this I need to create a script which takes the user input and show/hide those link based on server name or ip address.
for example -if the user types in- http://wxyz.com or 166.xx.xx.01 then only two hyperlinks will be shown but if the user inputs- http://uvwx.com or 166.xx.xx.02 then we want to show all the hyperlinks.
I am trying to customize the navigation on The Simple Controls Gallery.so that instead of the play buttons being displayed the anchor links are the ones that are being cycled through.immediately received an error indicating that an element had not been called correctly. How do I call those anchor links correctly.I place the javascript call on the links themselves which provided me with the functionality of pressing each one to make the gallery advance forward or backwards, but how would I make it so that as the images rotate the anchor links hightlight giving an indication of what the current image link is?
Why my submenu links dont work and why the submenus are taking a set height. I'm just learning jQuery and cant figure out what I've not set properly. [URL]
how to write a script where when a link is clicked in the left nav column, it will display text in the right main column. So, when you first arrive to the page, nothing will appear in the main portion of the site. Content only appears after clicking on a link. When you click on another link, the previous content is hidden, and the new text is displayed. Here's what I have so far:
HTML <div class="container"> <div class="nav"> <ul id="menu">
I have a problem with my menu. I am trying to add and remove classes when clicking on the main menu links. For instance when on load, the 'Home' is the current tab clicked, but when I click on 'Contact Me' I would like the class current to be removed from 'Home' and added to
'Contact Me' instead.</div> <div> </div> <div>The code im using is the one below.</div>[code]....
I have several drop down lists of links with one of the drop downs being a "My Favorites". My intent is that when the user clicks on a star image next to the links, it is cloned and appended to the favorites menu, where it can then be drag and drop sorted. To remove the link from the favorites menu, the user can either click on the "x" button to the right of the link on the favorites menu, or unselect the star on the main menus.
I have successfully cloned the link and appended it to the favorites menu by selecting the star and enabled the drag and drop sorting, but I am having trouble removing the link form the favorites menu when unselecting the star and when clicking on the "x". Here is what I have so far:
var me = ''; $('div.star').toggle(function(me){ var me = $(this).next('a').text(); $(this).addClass('favorite').next('a').clone(true).appendTo('ul#myFavs1').wrap('<li></li>').before("<div class='dragHandle'><img class='png' src='_images/dragHandle4.png' width='11' height='11' /></div>").after("<div class='remove' title='Remove from Favorites'></div>").attr('id', me); return me;}, function(me){[CODE]...
So, I clone the link, wrap it, add a drag handle and the 'x' button, give it an id of the text of the link which all works fine. I have a different part of the script that uses the drag handle to drag and drop the links...that works fine. The issues I am having are that unselecting the star does not remove the link from the favorites drop down and clicking on the 'x' does not even fire the alert. The z-index on the 'x' is higher than all the other elements in the li.
what I'm trying to do is to have a vertical menu where one of the list items if triggered (click or mouseover are both fine) moves to the right and then slides down a submenu with other 4 lists items. I got this working while I was just trying this effect alone thanks to this script:
What is wrong with this code it is supposed to start with a white rectangle and then on mouseover display the menu. The animation is working but when the menu is displayed, you cant use any of the inputs or click any of the links.
Here is the code: Code HTML4Strict: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <script type='text/javascript' src='jquery.js'></script> <style type='text/css'> div.fadehover { position: relative; } .....

I have an external JS file with an array of menu links called (menu.js).
The code is shown below:
I have called the javascript in my websites main page (index.html), but it does not work.
The html code is shown below:
The javascript for the array of menu links works when it is inserted directly within the html file, but when it remains external and is called in index.html it does not work. I am not sure why this is the case.
I have a small doubt in jsp coding..I want to disable certain links on user login.These links come under a menu list.Clarifying more on this..I have created a web application which has got a login page..After login it redirects me to my home page..now when an administrator logs in he/she should be able to view all links on the menu list whereas when an user logs in he/she should only view a certain number of links based on his/her privileges..how can i write this code.
Entire Code Sample:[URL]I can get this code to work no problem if I create a second iFrame ("iNav") just to load the DHTML menu into. EX:
Code:
var FirstLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where first level appears var SecLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where sub levels appear var DocTargetFrame='icontent'; // Frame where target documents appear
However I would like to avoid this as I really just want the single iFrame on my page and then dynamically load content into the iFrame via the DHTML menu.
i downloaded Anylink drop down menu from dynamicdrive.com. i am able to get it to work with text links, but they dont show you how to set it up for image links. here is the page im talking about.

here is the css to my page that just contains the regular links dropdown.
@charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body { margin: 0; /* clear for browsers */
I came up with the idea of making the links in the back of the circle (i've got a total of 10 links), invisible and put a globe in the middle (as background) - making it look like the links in the back go behind the globe and comes back from behind it again. I've tried to do this myself with .this.style.invisibility="hidden";
I have a drop down jquery menu with links and a image slide show with links. When I mouse over on the drop down menu, the drop down menu links go behind the image slide show [URL]
I needed a sidebar menu that, when a user clicks the <h3>, a submenu expands. When the user then clicks on a different menu item, the previous submenu disappears meaning only one submenu can be visible at one time.
Now the code I have at the moment (from jQuery forums) works. It now needs a bit more refining so that it works the way I intend.
When you first load the page, all of the submenus are collapsed which is a real pain as each submenu has 20 - 30 selections.
Is there a way to have them all hidden initially?
Is there a way to get an open submenu to close by clicking on the H3 title again?
Since the site is local only, I posted up a sample on my JSfiddle account.

This one, which I also found on google, did what I wanted, but without the smooth slide animation. - [url]
When you then click on one of the H3's, it kicks into action and works great!
I wonder if it's possible to implement a menu like the one ofcbs.com?Basically, when mouse over some of the menu items, a menu panel shows up with a few columns of links. The many panel disappears when the mouse moves out. I think it's quite neat and I'm hoping to be able to do something like that with jQuery.
