JQuery :: Automatically Convert Plain-text URLs To Links?
Jul 26, 2009On my site, I would like to have jQuery automatically convert all plain-text URLs to links. For example, if I have the following in the BODY tag of my Web page: Go to [URL]to go to the Google Groups home page. I want it to be converted in to this: Go to <a href="http://groups.google.com">http://groups.google.com</a> to go to the Google Groups home page. I'm sure the prepend() and append() functions will be used, but how do I tell jQuery how to pick URLs out of the Web page, if they are not surrounded by separate tags? I'm sure if each URL was in a SPAN tag it would be much easier.

Mar 7, 2011I'm having issues with jquery and the tabs I'm using. My tabs work but... I want some more functions and that seems to be a big problem for a Javascript and jquery newby.

I really don't know if this is correct but it works! What doesn't work is the active class. If you use one of the buttons in the first tab you go to the right tab but the tab itself has no class called active and that ruins the style.

I also have one other question: lets say that all the above is my second page and I have my frontpage in which I also have buttons. I want somebody to use the button and end up in the third tab of page 2. My link is something like

I read that using this should lead you the third tab but it's not working for me. You go to the first tab of page 2 instead.
I've been reading a LOT! Jquery for dummies, I googled, read the forum and other forums. I posted on a Dutch forum but no answer. I've added a lot of different code but it doesn't work.
Tabs Shooting. Content Not Showing On 2nd And 3rd Tabs?
Jun 10, 2011I'm having trouble figuring out why content isn't showing up on the 2nd and 3rd tabs of a tabbed content section embedded on a page. The content shows fine for the first tab but not at all for 2 and 3.

JQuery :: Tabs : All Content Divs Showing At Same Time
Apr 2, 2009For some reason, when my first div loads, I'm seeing all 3 text show up even though they're in different <div> containers:

Here's a print screen: [URL] so you can see that for some reason all of that text is showing up at the same time. Do I need to hide the other divs first? I even tried that with adding $('#Tabs div0').hide(); // Hide all divs but it did not help. I would assume out of the box, it would hide the rest of the divs for me and only show the default first.

this is code in cycle plugin to hide "next" nav at last slide, hide "prev" nav at first slide:

Jul 14, 2011I am using superfish for the first time and I have a relatively low level of HTML/CSS/JS knowledge.Whenever I include the line <script src="js/superfish.js" type="text/javascript"></script> in my HTML, it will disable all links on my website and when I click on the link, it does nothing, it doesn't even give me a 404 page not found error.Whenever I take the line <script src="js/superfish.js" type="text/javascript"></script> out, all of my links work fine. I have not altered superfish.js at all from the default file.

May 24, 2009I just discovered that Internet Explorer is not showing the 3rd level of the menu. [URL](very much a work in progress) I believe it's a js issue and not a css one. I've removed all js/ jquery except the menu stuff and the problem still exists. I'm not sure what to do now. I know it should work because the examples on the superfish site do. Also, I just pulled up my test page that I made before integrating the CMS and they don't work there either. Maybe there will be some clue

Once the transition is complete and the shopping cart is closed and returns back to position all the links on the website are deactivated and no matter where i click it wont take me anywhere. Ajax :: Tabs - Column Of Links That Use To Load Content Into The Adjacent DIV
Sep 27, 2010I have a column of links that use ajax to load content into the adjacent DIV, and I have used the loadobs function to load the JS and CSS files along with the external file. Now within the external file I have used javascript to create a 3 tab section; when you first load the page it is fine BUT if you navigate away from the page and then try going back and loading the same external page then the tabs stop working and all the content of the tabbed sections stack ontop of one another as though the javacript isnt working?
It is a work in progress but the page I am having the problems on can be found at [url] if you click on the top link in the left hand column called Tara - Female vocalist you will be able to see where the tabs are.

The thread title doesn't quite cover my issue, so I'll try to explain a little further.I built a website for a client who tells me that when he hovers over a word on his page it pops up a link to a competing site. I assured him that I didn't put the links in there, that it's a script or program running on his computer creating those links as he views the page.So my questions:
1. Is there a name for this evil? 'Popup spam ads' or something?
2. Anyone know of a way to build in javascript or any other method to stop this from happening to his site?

Nov 9, 2009I am using jQuery tabs and when I have very long content within the tabs, my browsers scroll bar reflects the content in the tab with the most content.
Example, "Tab 1" & "Tab 3" has a very long scroll bar, even though it has no content (because of Tab 2) and you can scroll down through the empty space

So what happens is, that Firefox shows it correctly, but in IE it just writes ALL of the raw XML file data straight in a row (it does not use the stylesheet) why?
I have been trying so many solutions already. Could there be something in the XSL file that IE rejects but Firefox allows to be shown?
