JQuery :: On Link Click - Reload Whole Page - Show Only The Content For The Links
Aug 6, 2009
I'm using a jquery slider for displaying content on a webpage.
[url]
Like in the first examples i have 5 panels, and i have a meta navigation, contact, links ect. all thedifferent content for the meta-navigation is displayed via jquery in panel 5, and is working fine.
Now my question; when the user is for example on the second panel, and the clicks on links, the page should show panel 5 (which is the index page(default.asp)), and then show only the content for the links.
I tried different stuff for loading the defautl.asp page, but it doesn't work. how do i tell, that if i click on the link wirh class="kontakt" the page should load the default.asp, and THEN do all the jquery stuff?
Below is one example, what i tried, but did not work.
how to write a script where when a link is clicked in the left nav column, it will display text in the right main column. So, when you first arrive to the page, nothing will appear in the main portion of the site. Content only appears after clicking on a link. When you click on another link, the previous content is hidden, and the new text is displayed. Here's what I have so far:
HTML <div class="container"> <div class="nav"> <ul id="menu">
I searched before more and more but I can't find those things that exactly I want.
I'm on design a new website, you can see this page: [URL]...in this page I have 3 hidden DIV, and at top of content area I have 3 buttons (About, Karan Group, Contact), please click on those buttons and see action.
I'd write this motions by jquery but it's really really amateur! because I have to define all things like below codes (as working for output):
I have an existing jquery/ajax script that does a click function. After the click function, I need to reload a div on the same page.Isnt there a simple line of jquery that would reload a div? below is the click function. lets say i want to reload a div with id="lesson" after the click.
I'm using a .click event handler to add new classes to 9 list items. It does this perfectly, but once it's been clicked it reloads the page and everything resets!Here's the jQuery:
$("#diamond").click( function() { $("#storage ul li#1").addClass("box1-diamond"); $("#storage ul li#2").addClass("box2-diamond");
If I have 3 contents let say, div id=content1, div id=content2, div id=content3 and a next and previous button.
How can I to create a simple jquery script to show the next or previous content when clicked on Next and Previous button ? Show only 1 content each time.
I have 3 links that are clickable... And what I want to do, is when 1 anchor tag is open and the user clicks on a different link, it closes the previous link and opens the clicked one. Here's a link to the working page to see my example: Example Site on Temp server The green buttons on the right hand image are the clickable links and these are the ones I want to add the final animation to. Click on one link, then click on another.
I have a table that contains information that is hidden within a 'td' element. Users can access this information if they wish by clicking on a link that is held in another 'td' element on the previous row (table structure below):
I am running a simple show hide div script as follows: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function toggle_visibility(slideshow) { var e = document.getElementById(slideshow); if(e.style.display == 'block') e.style.display = 'none'; else e.style.display = 'block'; }
//--> </script> <a href="#" onclick="toggle_visibility('slideshow');">Show Gallery + </a> <div id="slideshow" style="display:none">slideshow</div> It works but the page reloads and returns the user to the top of the page not to the "shown" div. Any way to send them back to the shown div or stop the reload?
and dropdown menu in each page to switch between india and usa pages.
india.html page sells in INR and usa.html in USD with links to shopping carts for each currency.
link1(INR) link2(USD)
Except the link and the currency information(selling price), contents in both the pages are same.
So here comes the problem. Google hates duplicate pages!
I am looking for a solution where, a single page In That Page, a dropdown menu to select currency As the currency is selected, without page reload, the link to shopping cart and the pricing also should be changed according to the selected currency. So Single page should be able to handle both the currencies.
Im trying to prevent the user from clicking any other links on my page when the user have selected/clicked a href once.
Sometimes it takes a while before the next page loads so some user will try clicking other links or the same link.
I can prevent this when i use buttons by calling onclick and in a javascript getElementsByTagName("input") and then check the type to be type of "button" or "submit" which i then disable. It works.
This also works for href html tags by calling onclick and in a javascript remove all href, BUT it also stops everything, even the request that is about to happen.
If i use disable getElementsByTagName("a") on href like with buttons it does not get unclickable just get a grey color but you can click on it.
Any workaround to this? This is a seriuos web app so I want the solution where i disable ALL links on my page so it is not possible to click on any after the first time.
All the links is NOT in a form only links using <a href="gosomeplace"> click this link</a> .
I have four links which show a div and when you select another link it closes the current div and shows the new one. I'm trying to add a 'Close' button within the currently open div which obviously will hide the div and allow it to be opened again by selecting a link.
Code:
HTML Code:
My problem is that when the box has been hidden by the close link it will not be shown by the links.
Is there a way in javascript that when you click on a url link on a page, the new page will load on the exisiting page without a page reload.(has to be client side solution) I'm using yahoo search, the complete sample app is below.
I have a list item, where only some of the items are linking to a quote from the client. The quotes are in another list, where each list item has an id corresponding to the client link. I want to show the client quote when you roll over the client anchor link. Currently when I mouseover it's showing nothing.
At the moment, when I mouseover one of the anchored client links, the content disappears, so it's not showing the correct client quote <li>. $(document).ready(function() { // see if the requested page url contains an anchor '#' var hash = window.location.hash.substring(1); // if no anchor, show the default blockqoute if(!hash){ var id = 'default'; }else{ var id = hash; } .....
I have a form and in the form is a checkbox use as a switch to hide and unhide a two textbox. When the other textbox is hide, the other is unhide such as the code below. When the user click the submit button on the first time and there is an error, it reloads and the id="fieldset.-in_honor" hide because it is set to hide initially but not empty. My problem is, I want to show the fieldset whichever is not empty after submit button is click and there is an error so user will not enter any more information to the other field. Is that possible?
/*toggle switch*/ <p><input type="checkbox" name="in_honor" value="" id="checkmemoriam" onclick="showHide(this.name);" />Please check to make this donation in honor of someone special.</p> /*hide textbox but unhide when the switch is on or the checbox is check*/ <fieldset id="fieldset-in_honor" class="fieldgroup" style="display:none"> <legend class="hide">In Honor Of</legend> <p>To make this donation in honor of someone special, please complete the two fields below:</p> <div class="formfield" <?php echo highlight('donate_honor_name'); ?>> <label for="donate_honor_name">Name:</label> <input id="donate_honor_name" name="donate_honor_name" class="text" type="text" value="<?php safeEcho($form['donate_honor_name'])?>" /> <?php helper_error('donate_honor_name'); ?> </div> <div class="formfield" <?php echo highlight('donate_honor_acknowledgement'); ?>> <label for="donate_honor_acknowledgement">Acknowledgement should be sent to:</label> <textarea id="donate_honor_acknowledgement" name="donate_honor_acknowledgement"><?php safeEcho($form['donate_honor_acknowledgement'])?>
I want to be able to click on a checkbox (or a radio button) and have it reload the page, but also keep the item selected. The code I currently have reloads the page but does not check the checkbox or select the radio button. The code is: <form name="myform" method="post" action="thispage.htm"> <input type="checkbox" name="checkbox" value="checkbox" onClick="javascript:window.location.reload()"> </form>
I have installed a flash mp3 player that streams music while browsing my website. Unfortunately there is a problem that any time you click a link to another page, everything reloads and the music restarts. Looking for advice on how to implement the music stream so it plays continuously and not affected by changing pages of the site. I would like to avoid any sort of frames implementation. Only other thing I can think of is some sort of AJAX implementation
Someone kindly produced some code for me so I could get my slides links to link to my other slide page. The thing is I am using the "pagerAnchorBuilder" option on my original slide and I cannot seem to get the new code I was given working with my code on my website. Can someone advise me on how I can get the new code working with thepagerAnchorBuilder.
I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
I need to get the page to reload with the anchor in the link when it is clicked in a dropdown menu. For example if I am on 'www.domain.com/about/#2' and I then click on 'www.domain.com/about/#3' the url changes but the page doesn't reload so I need the page to reload, but keep the new anchor (#3).I gave the links with anchors a class of 'reload' and tried this:
I'm basically trying to make it so a link click will hide and display a series of DIVs to make my site look a bit neater and more professional. The code I have WORKS, it can make a DIV appear and disappear easily enough but the issue I'm having is that it only works if you click the same link to show nad hide. Click a link to show a DIV then click another link and both will be visible.
But the only other code I tried to hide all but the selected DIV just results in my page becoming invisible (Its constructed with DIVs from top to bottom) so its not a suitable result. I'm basically after this: [URL]. Where you click on the link (in this case an image) and it shows what you need. I did try searching through their HTML and code but their javascript file appears as one long string to me so its hard to find any real useful detail.
This is the code I have at the moment: Code JavaScript: function showHide(shID) { if (document.getElementById(shID)) { if (document.getElementById(shID).style.display != 'block') { document.getElementById(shID).style.display = 'block'; }else { document.getElementById(shID).style.display = 'none'; }}}
And this is my current page in practice. [URL]. I'm assuming I might need an array but I need to stop it picking on every DIV and only the DIVs in my content area.
I am using jQuery BlockUI Plugin (v2). It works success but I have a small problem, when I click the link, it is bloclking the page but the main page goes up. Also same problem for link which is oppening new tab or new windows. main pages goes up when I click the link.
