How To Change 10 Image Sources Efficiently

May 14, 2010

I have 10 images on a blank page, all have the exact same source. I want to change all 10 of their sources with javascript to all be one new source(from source1.jpg to source2.jpg in code below). [code]I know I could run a loop and change all 10 of them individually in the loop, but I can't help but think there is a more efficient way. I was thinking of just making them div tags of all the same class and use the image as the background and then using javascript to change the class property. Basically I am asking what you think is the fastest processing time for the user, while also keeping the code very small.

Replacing The InnerHTML Property Efficiently

Jul 19, 2010

While I am an amateur beginner when it comes to JavaScript, I feel that I can at least handle the scripting language to a level which suits my needs, however earlier today a friend asked me if I could lead her to the right direction with a class task of hers. Basically, the project at hand is to create a snippet of JavaScript which, when the user clicks the content of an HTML paragraph element, should replace said paragraph with a <textarea> and allow the user to alter the paragraph's content. Of course the textarea should be accompanied by a save and a cancel button, but seeing as it is a JavaScript class she's taking, the saving shall only be client-sided.

However, the catch is that she will not be allowed to use the innerHTML property.

So, to the question: how would one go (if it is possible, but I highly doubt it isn't) with making something like:

I do feel this could be done in a more smooth looking and operating way by using the contentEditable attribute, but apparently the teacher asked for a textarea.

How To Efficiently Implement 10 Fckeditors On One Page

Nov 2, 2007

i have 10 textareas that need to be converted in to identical fckeditors (same toolbar, skin and dimensions) right now im repeating the block below 10 times where the just the new FCKeditor ('textareaID') is different. the page weighs in at over 700KB ... fckeditor.html, fckeditor_gecko.js, fckeditor_area.css, etc are all loaded multiple times

im sure there is a better way of implementing this so each of those pages are only loaded once. does anyone know how?

var oFCKeditor = new FCKeditor( 'homeBody' ) ;
oFCKeditor.BasePath = "fckeditor/" ;
oFCKeditor.ToolbarSet = "Basic";
oFCKeditor.Width = 500;
oFCKeditor.Height = 300;
oFCKeditor.ReplaceTextarea() ;

Page Working With Dynamically Loaded Iframe Sources Passed By URL?

Mar 3, 2010

I've been trying to get this page working with dynamically loaded iframe sources passed by URL, but I can't seem to get it working.Here's the relavent code:

<script type="text/javascript">
function delineate(str) {
URL = str.indexOf("=") + 1;[code]...

I used the hidden form to change the url to text - advice from another website. I'm sure there are better ways to do it, but I'll explore them as soon as this thing actually works..The types are in a subfolder named types, as shown. The document.write was placed in as a debug helper, and it displays the proper file location of whatever I select with the combo box, but the iframe doesn't change it's src to the selected page! I've tired the last line of the last <script> with several different methods, none of them producing any effect whatsoever.

ContentFlow - Change The ActiveItem Onclick To Just Bump It Over To The Next Image As If The Next Image Had Been Clicked

Jul 20, 2010

I am using ContentFlow from [URL] It is very well documented on their website. I got the whole thing working great on my site. What I don't know is how to change the ActiveItem onclick to just bump it over to the next image as if the next image had been clicked. As of right now it opens the image source in a self window. I don't want that. Can anyone give me a clue or maybe the whole answer on how to get it to click over to the next image? I believe the answer lies in the contentflow_src.js file.

Text Swap - Change Each Image To Different Image On Mouseover

Jun 15, 2010

I'm failing to get a pure CSS way to achieve this, so trying JS. Several small images in a row, each different. Want mouseover to:

1. change each image to different image on mouseover (each image has its own mouseover image version).

2. produce different paragraph of text below row of images on each mouseover.

I can achieve it with mouseover on text links or on an image, but not with the two events, viz mouseover image swap + mouseover text swap. Would also want to be able to style the text.

Click On One Image To Change Another Image On The Same Page?

Jul 16, 2010

I have a page which is a large graphic sliced up into various pieces for better loading. It's a drawing of a bedroom and I need to have it set up so that when a user clicks on a link that is mapped to a frame hanging on the wall, it opens the doors of a cupboard. The photoframe and the cupboard are in different images.

I thought of using a Javascript image rollover but I can't see how that can be used to change a different image rather than the image that has the link in it.

I've done a little Javascript editing. Am happy to upload the code and images to the web if required.
