i am using ajax to retrieve the img url path how am i going to use the img url path i retrieve and display as a image and i using javascript language anyone know? how to do that i try the follow way but don't work what wrong?

I am new to JavaScript and I am having a difficult time finding what I thought would be easy to find.I have 4 text strings that when a user runs his/her mouseOver, I'd like to display a corresponding picture in a display area. I thought that would be easy enough. However, it gets a bit complicated for me since I am also using CSS to position the display area. For some reason all I can find out there are examples using HTML tables for display image positioning. I don't want to use tables. I'm not sure if this will make a difference but my style sheet is external. Also, the text does not link/go to another page.

I can make it work very well without an array, using separate conditional statements for each radio button, but that is cumbersome. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a script that uses jQuery to POST data through AJAX to a PHP script, that uses that data to create a dynamic JPG image. The PHP script returns the binary image data as output using the PHP header image/jpeg command (so far so good).
Now I want to display that image in the client, but I haven't been able to find a proper solution for this yet. After reading up a bit I understand a possible solution would be to have the PHP script encode it in base64 and return the string to the client as a data URI. However, that solution won't suffice because it is not supported by IE < 8 and still limited to 32K images in IE 8.
For the moment, I am writing the image to a tmp dir on the server and return a filename to the client. However, there must be another way to solve this more elegantly through. how I can use jQuery/JavaScript to display the returned binary image data in the browser?
i have a website where i change the content of a div using jquery, however i also want to change the background image at the same time but cant seem to get both to work together, not sure what im doing wriong but i think its something to do with the script and return false

Using a UI dialog I'd like to load in 10 or so images. Each would be unique and after you click on one the following needs to happen:
1. Image appears on the parent page in a specified ID.
2. A "hidden" field is updated so that when the user submits the db is updated with their selection.
3. Dialog closes automatically.
That's it. Basically it would work similar to "datepicker".I'm using the latest 1.4 and ui and been making great progress as learning basics. I need to do the above and it seems like such a no brainier and or it should already exist but after 2 days of searching and trial and error...

I want to create something similar to what they achieve with this script:[URL] I know I could just download their script, but it's for a website that will be commercial in nature, and my cousin doesn't want to pay 29 pounds (which is a lot in AUD!) for it. What I don't know is how to change the ActiveItem onclick to just bump it over to the next image as if the next image had been clicked. As of right now it opens the image source in a self window. I don't want that. Can anyone give me a clue or maybe the whole answer on how to get it to click over to the next image? I believe the answer lies in the contentflow_src.js file.

This is my first post on this forum but by the looks of it , it seems to be full of people who know what they are doing so I humbly ask your advice on this issue. I want to build a javascript function which can retrieve data from an SQL database by calling a php script. For this I use the script underneath. There is off course a php-part to this but the problem is not situated there since the script runs smoothly if I put the returned value (ajaxRequest.responseText) into an html-element like a <div> for instance.
If I don't do this however and just want to assign it to a javascript variable (like shown below : window.out_text = ajaxRequest.responseText) it will not show when I call document.write(window.out_text); EXCEPT WHEN THERE IS A DELAY. So If I put alerters in there to slow down the generation of the final html, it seems to be able to write the javascript variable to the screen. Is this a bug in the ajaxRequest.readyState? Or am I doing this wrong? And especially: How can I solve this. Someone else on this forum must surely have already ran into this problem?

I'm failing to get a pure CSS way to achieve this, so trying JS. Several small images in a row, each different. Want mouseover to:
1. change each image to different image on mouseover (each image has its own mouseover image version).
2. produce different paragraph of text below row of images on each mouseover.
I can achieve it with mouseover on text links or on an image, but not with the two events, viz mouseover image swap + mouseover text swap. Would also want to be able to style the text.
I want to make an moving image. In time it should change to other image with other button. Also it could be changed by user. The change should be dynamic like moving from left to right.

I have a page which is a large graphic sliced up into various pieces for better loading. It's a drawing of a bedroom and I need to have it set up so that when a user clicks on a link that is mapped to a frame hanging on the wall, it opens the doors of a cupboard. The photoframe and the cupboard are in different images.
I thought of using a Javascript image rollover but I can't see how that can be used to change a different image rather than the image that has the link in it.
I've done a little Javascript editing. Am happy to upload the code and images to the web if required.
I'm stuck with a "problem" on a website development. The basic structure ofthe websiteis that:
- There's only one main .php page
- There's a large div in it, initially blank
- Clickin on a link the div is filled with a portion of html code from another .php page, using load() functionplus # selector.
Now, teorically, my main page contains "more html elements", and initially I wrote some rows that changes the color oftexts when the mouse in on it:

Simple. The problem is that the effect works on elements already written in the main page, but not onthe elements that come from the asynchronized html! How can I apply the effect on the "new" code too?
