I am submitting a form using an image as the link to a js file. The image calls a js function which checks fields- issuing alerts for errors - if no errors it then submits the form.
I would like to have a final confirm box run from the function before the form is submitted. I guess I would have to use the return statement somehow but I can't see quite how.
On my form I have 3 submit buttons which handle different things.I am looking for a way to stop or continue form execution with a confirm box on the third submit button and the third only.I can't use onsubmit because that will trigger on all three buttons.

OK or Cancle.
And for update " Are you sure you want to update Quantity to....." OK or Cancle.

I will describe in short the scenario so that it would be clear.
The Scenario
I have some input elements made up in a html component on JSP page.
The table has many <tr>. These <tr> have been given ids, for e.g. <tr id="1">.
Now I am trying to pass a comma separated list of these tr ids to server side code or Servlet.
The comma separated list is formed with looping some logic on submit of JSP or more specifically a form.
The Problem:
When I submit the form sometimes I do not receive the comma separated values mentioned above at server side code.
This happens occasionally. Now when I put some delay through Java Script like setTimeOut() I do not face the issue.
Is Java Script behavior a bit non-sequential sometimes?

The target site then responds with either an error code (i.e. -10) or a reference number. The question is - How do I retrieve the error code?

I'm using the submit and ajax functions to check a form. When the form is submitted the submit event executes and within that event the data (a code the user has to fill in) is sent to the server to check if it's correct. If it is correct, the submit event supposes to return true (so the form submits), if it's incorrect the submit event supposes to return false (so submitting the form cancels).
Here's my code that should do this:

But here's the problem: While jQuery does the ajax request, the script continues. So it will return false - even if the code is validated - because the var submit has been set to false at line 4. When I submit the form again, the form is validated because 'submit' is true (but that's set to true the first time). How can I ensure the submit function waits for the ajax request to finish?
I am trying to get a form to call a javascript function on submit to send an ajax request. The site sits on one server and the php target file on another. I get a status of 0. From what I read, this is because the php file sits on a different server. I do don't believe I can get around the files sitting on different servers.I can set the php file as the form action, but I do not want to redirect, just send a request to the other server to modify some values in a DB. If I can not send an ajax request between servers, I was thinking an alternative might be to set the php file as the form action, run the updates, and then have the page redirect me back. Is there a better way to get around this problem

I'm trying to build a confirm dialog box. If found a nice plugin [URL] but the behavior is not like a normal confirm dialog box. You have to add a callback function to react on the ok/cancel buttons. Is it possible the simulate this behavior so I can have a function like this:

For my web assignment we have to put in interactive elements into our web pages. The one I'm having trouble is a confirm button for a form, (it doesn't send any info as we have not been taught any php or any form of server side scripting yet). What I have want the button to do is to check that all feilds have been entered info if they then thank the user and close pop up div, if not request the user to enter info into all fields.
My code does sort of I want but doesn't thank the person if it is all filled instead it says please enter info into all feilds and then closes.
Is there any body known about this problem?

I am having some difficulty in constructing a window.confirm() function that works with my code.So if the form data is valid, I need to use a window.confirm() dialog box to show the user's total cost based on the rental rate of equipment chosen and the reservation period. In the following .submit function, I am attempting to grab the value of the selected option in the facilityCodes dropdown list when I click the submit button and then during the submit function,select the facilityCode again in the dropdown list when the page reloads and then disable the list so that the user cannot change it.However,the situation is when I reload the page after the submit button is clicked the dropdown defaults to the first option and the list is enabled.I apparently am not understanding how.submit works so that I'm selecting the option I'm defining in my code below and then disabling the list AFTER the page reloads due to an error on the page.
