I think I am messing up with the single quote and double quote.
I have an asp form where one field has potential for entry of single quote (usually a possessive -bob's-).How can I replace "'"with "`" before it is passed forward generating an error.
Does anyone have code to restrict input of a singli quote and a backslash in input field? I need to make sure this code works in IE, FF, Opera. Well, all major browsers
I am writing an accounting sofware, and I have difficulties with the form used to enter the debit and credit for a given transaction. I have used the Jquery validation plugin demo, but I don't know how to hide a specific input cell and replace it by blanks. In accounting, you have either a credit or a debit. So I have an indicator tick box at the beginning of each line which defines whether the line is a debit or credit, and if so it hides the credit cell or debit cell.
i have a long string contain html tags, javascript code, in a variable, & of corse it contain both ' & " in it.now i want to put all the stuff somewhere in my page, so i assume should use .html() for this. but i think because of this ' & " it does not working. what should i do?
I want to get the cursor start and end position of a selected range in a text-field or text-area. i tried lot of functions in various forums. but when the last character of the selection is a new line character JavaScript ignore it in IE6. any one having idea ?
A web page I'm creating will allow a visitor to download a number of PDF files. A form on the page has one checkbox for each of the PDF files. I also wanted to add a checkbox to select/deselect all the PDFs.All works fine, but I also want the visitor to supply their name and email address before downloading, so I want to add another checkbox before the submit button to allow them to opt in/out of having their email address used for further mail shots.Unfortunately since the code selects/deselects all checkboxes on the form, it also ticks/unticks the opt in/out checkbox.
Is there a way - possibly by targeting the opt in/out checkbox's ID - to filter it out of this mass selection/de-selection process?I'm sure it's pretty straightforward but as I say I'm a Javascript novice.
I am trying to develop a small web based inventory programme. In the programme, after orders are placed for supply of an item, the materials are to be recieved by the stores. For this a "goods received page" is used. On start the page loads items as per the purchase order in the database. Javascript is used to calculate the cost of each item and total cost of all items. since the number of items vary from order to order I use the following code to load the page. ( PHP is used in the server side).
<input type='text' size='10' name ='rqty[]' value='1.000' align='right' onchange="recalculate()"> <input type='text' size='10' name ='rqty[]' value='2.000' align='right' onchange="recalculate()">
[Code]....
My problem is that the above will work whenever there are two or more items and the variable qty is actually an array. But it does not work when there is only one item. In other words, it does not recognises a single element array. value of rsize is returned as undefined. Splitting the loading process with seperate naming for single items as rqty and multiple items as rqty[] is not possible as option to be given to delete items from a multiple item page. This may end up in a single item page eve n when there are multiple items at load time.
I am trying to grab all text between <START> and <END> and have the following bits of code, but neither are returning anything. I use JS so rarely that I can't see where the problems are -
var ermtext = response.match(/<START>(.*?)<END>/i); if (ermtext) { result.ermtext = ermtext.replace("$1");
I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.
I require to highlight the text on the webpage. For that I am using document.getSelection() function to get the selected text and then replace the text with the highlighted text. It works fine but have some problem with that.
If user has selected a single word rather then a long text to highlight, and if it's a common word, It will find many words in the text and will highlight the first word it encounters no matter user has selected it or not.
So I need to have a function that returns me the start and end index of the selected text from the html text.
I am creating a little html editor, and I want to highlight a chunk of unformatted text, click a <buttonand put a <pand the beginning and a </pat the end. I assume there is a DOM element relating to this, can anybody help please ?
i have a table with three columns , quantity and rate amount.when user puts in quantity, and rate their multiplication is given in amount. and then these amounts will be added and total will be given.in the table you can add and delete rows dynamically.
I have taken a class on PHP and started making some math homework and drills for the tutoring I do. I have asked my kids for feedback and they are telling me that it is inconvenient to hit tab to go to the next text box (They have small arms/fingers..)I then thought of a brilliant ideaLets say it was 12 divided by 3. If they wrote a 4 in the input area, the JavaScript would recognize the correct answer and automatically move to the next box. However, if they wrote a 3 in the box, the JavaScript wouldn't move over.This kills two birds with one stone. The inconvenience of hitting tab or clicking on the next box disappears, and they are forced to put in the correct answer.Ironically, I have learned PHP and skipped over JavaScript. Which code would I use to do this?
Code: <style> body { /*Remove below line to make bgimage NOT fixed*/ background-color:black; background-attachment:fixed; background-repeat: no-repeat; [Code]...
when i run it, i have to wait the 9000 timer to c the first image, and i need the page to start with an image and then start the rotation, i have assigned background-image by css, and tried also to use document.body.background, but when i do this the rotator doesnt work.
Is it possible to do the following with JavaScript? Get information from form Generate form results as a single text string $_POST string to PHP so it can be passed from one page to next. This is to get around limitations of my host. I have Parts 1 and 2 done. I need to know how to do 3.
Address Line Fields: text should be input into these fields manually Primary Address field: text should be dynamically populated into this field based on the text manually input from the Address Line fields.
The below are the manual input fields:
Address Line 1: Text1 Address Line 2: Text2 Address Line 3: Text3 Address Line 4: Text4 Address Line 5: Text5 Address Line 6: Text6 City: Text7 State/County/Region: Text8 Zip Code/Post Code: Text9
The below is the Primary Address field which should look like this when the text has been input into the manual fields:
In other words, as I type the text in the Address Line fields, the text is added to the Primary Address field or textbox separated by commas automatically/dynamically.
Is this at all possible with javascript and is there some code that can do it?
Here's what I have so far, which handles characters as they're typed in. Could someone please show me how I would loop through all the values that are entered if a block of text was pasted in, and then grab the ascii value(s) that are > 128?: Code:
