Code To Selectively Tick Form Checkboxes

A web page I'm creating will allow a visitor to download a number of PDF files. A form on the page has one checkbox for each of the PDF files. I also wanted to add a checkbox to select/deselect all the PDFs.All works fine, but I also want the visitor to supply their name and email address before downloading, so I want to add another checkbox before the submit button to allow them to opt in/out of having their email address used for further mail shots.Unfortunately since the code selects/deselects all checkboxes on the form, it also ticks/unticks the opt in/out checkbox.
Is there a way - possibly by targeting the opt in/out checkbox's ID - to filter it out of this mass selection/de-selection process?I'm sure it's pretty straightforward but as I say I'm a Javascript novice.

I am writing an accounting sofware, and I have difficulties with the form used to enter the debit and credit for a given transaction. I have used the Jquery validation plugin demo, but I don't know how to hide a specific input cell and replace it by blanks. In accounting, you have either a credit or a debit. So I have an indicator tick box at the beginning of each line which defines whether the line is a debit or credit, and if so it hides the credit cell or debit cell.

I am trying to create a script to randomly assign recipients to givers for a Secret Santa.he participants are placed into groups. A giver cannot be assigned a recipient with whom he is grouped. I want to return all of the assignments in a table. I have made the following script. When I run it, it seems to get stuck in a loop. Any ideas why this might be? I have a simple script that counts the number of check boxes that are checked and then when reaches a certain number displays an alert. It is triggered by the onclick event.My question is, by keeping with the onclick event how do I make JS run something different when a box is unchecked.So bottom line - if it is checked the counter goes up...if it is unchecked the counter goes down all being triggered by the onclick event - is this possible.

I am creating a form using a system called SORCE.The load an article page, only check boxes.I have three checkboxes and want to disable the other 2 when one of them is checked. I have ability to enter javascript code behind each checkbox and there is already some code behind each check box. Below is an example of the code behind the first check box:

a global checkbox onclick that takes the name of of the checkbox and manipulates to get the name of the textbox to be enabled/disabled or a global checkbox onclick that when acheckbox is checked, the textbox in the next td is enabled, when it is not checked, the next textbox is disabled (and alltext is removed from the box).

I am trying to sum the "value" of multiple checkboxes who's values are all numeric, and then alert via pop-up the value of the sum when a Sumbit button is clicked. I thought I figured out how to do it using some jquery, but for some reason the Submit button doesn't fire anything.

I have some checkboxes in a form that I'd like to validate (check to ensure that at least one has been ticked):

I have checked over my code several times and cannot find what I've done wrong with my first script, which is to check/uncheck all checkboxes in a html form. Nothing is checking or unchecking, and I am seeing the "Error on this page" in IE whenever i first click one of the two buttons. Here are the steps I have taken1. I found a script on this forum that does almost what I want from this thread: [URL]. Instead of a dropdown, I'd like to have a list of names using check boxes, so that you have the option to send an email to one or all of the people. When you choose your selections and click submit, an outlook email will pop up with your selections in the to: field.
Here's the solution using a drop down, this works (and works well), but doesn't quite do what I need :

I am trying to allow a user to easily uncheck/check all checkboxes in a form by checking or unchecking a checkbox. The checkboxes would be in a form like so:

<input type="checkbox" name="checked[]" value="3">
<input type="checkbox" name="checked[]" value="4">

I use an event handler to call a function:
<input type="checkbox" name="checkall" onchange="checkall('checked[]', this.checked)">
And here is the function:

all = document.getElementsByName(box_name);
action = (current_state == "checked") ? "false" : "true";
for (i = 0; i < all.length; i++) {

The event handler should pass the name of the checkboxes and whether the "check all" checkbox is currently checked or not to the checkall() function. Nothing happens when I check/uncheck the "check all" function.

I am trying to make an option calculator for my site. The user will click on various radio buttons and checkboxes, before pressing the calculate button. The button will then add up all the values to show the overall figure. The code shown below is what I have so far.

The first javascript is to show the value of the radio button with the textfield attached - when the user puts a number in the textfield, it will update the value of the radio button. The second javascript is to check the document for the clicked radio buttons and checkboxes. It then adds up all the clicked values to show the answer. The problem that I am having is to put these two javascripts together so as the radio button is updated with the text field value as well as adding up all the clicked values.

I work for a very large company that has zero communications between IT and the employees...so there is very little possibility of having any code changed.I need to use a web based system that submits orders for my department. The problem is i must order by "task number". I could have 20-30 task numbers so to complete the order I need to go to my company's page and fill out 15 form fields and submit for each task code. It is a terrible pain. 14 of the 15 fields are the same for each order... only the task code changes.

I have created my second Form to File Web Form but basically I took my First Web Form coding (with the Java Script) and manipulated it so that it suited my needs for my 2nd Form (both are very close to being the same).For some reason, I can't get my Java Script validation to take effect. I found his basic code online for a popup login but I don't know how to get the information from it either into php variables or whatever i need to do code...
I put the css on a separate page and just copied the login link and the javascripts. I don't know how to get the information into php variables so i can check it with the database.
I know I'm just asking for the answer but I don't know javascript and i don't want to spend a month learning it just for a login form. If your going to just say go learn javascript then don't post .

I have a form with two basic radio buttons to confirm deleting a record from a database. But I also want to add an extra popup box to confirm a second time, just to be 100% sure this record should be removed from the database.
I followed a few articles I found from Google to get the code, but I have no expierence with JavaScript.I get a popup box when I click the button but it doesn't do anything. When the user clicks cancel on the popup box, I want nothing to happen at all. But when they click "Continue" I want the popup box to submit the form in its current state.
There is a lot of PHP and I'm not sure that I can even post all of it here, but this is the rendered page, so I think that is all that will be needed?Its ok the customer data is displayed on this code, its a sample database to test. The data isn't real.

1. The user presses DELETE on another page, and is directed to the delete_confirm.php
2. The customer information is displayed in a form.
3. The message is shown "Do you want to delete this record".
4. The user selects the "Yes" radio button and submits the form.
5. One additional security the user gets a popup box "ARE YOU REALLY SURE?"
6a. The user clicks "Continue" and the page is submitted. (PHP will handle accessing MySQL)
6b. The user clicks "Cancel" and nothing happens. They just stay on the delete_confirm.php page.
The form works fine with the submit button, but I wanted to add just one popup box as extra security.
