Can't Get The Radio Buttons To Work Properly In Browser
Oct 31, 2009
I can't get the radio buttons to work properly in my browser. If you don't press one the alert box does not tell you that you have to tick either male or female. Also I noticed you can tick both but it won't say you must choose only one, how can I sort this..
case "radio_hidden":
if (fld.value != "1")/* radio male or female button should be checked*/
{
fld.valid = true;
In my quest towards becoming a guru in Web Development led me to start learning Scripting few weeks ago and i started with Javascript there is this video tutorial that i have on my drive which was putting me through, the going was good but i got stuck when some of the examples demonstrated in there did not perform the way it was performing on the Instructor's system, yeah he said it in the tutorials that some of the Jscript codes may not function well in some browsers especially the older browser,he uses Firefox and Internet Explorer on his system while i use IE and Google Chrome on mine.
Well the Tutorial is actually old(i think it's 2006), but cos i use IE9 and 5.0Chrome browsers which i believe are newer i expect the codes to run on them. There are some of his examples that did not work on Firefox browser but at least they work on the 4.5IE he was using but to my surprise, despite the 100per cent copy and paste that i was doing for some of his example few of them did not still work properly on my own IE browser;codes like that one that aids text scrolling, onunload method and other few ones.So "Web whizes" help me out on what i need to do to give my scripting experience a jolly ride into becoming a wizard in my Web Development.
I'm having a problem with my radio buttons. On FF and Chrome they work just fine, but in IE, they does'nt appear as sellected. In other words: they do their job, but when you click'em, they stay unckeched. The genetarion code:
var item = $('<input type="radio" />').attr('value',pid).attr('name',name); self.append($('<p />').append(item).append('<label>'+desc+'</label>'));
java and i am having trouble getting radio buttons , check boxes and pull down lists to work in my form whenever i put them in there they just come up as undefined. And if i try to put any if statements in the hyper links stop working as the program cannot run. Obviously as i am doing something very wrong.I am at a loss and have spent hours on it and just cant get these things working.Any thing with a typed answer works great such as first name or last name here is the code i have written so far
<script> function hidediv(divname) { if (document.getElementById) { // DOM3 = IE5, NS6
I'm trying to create a questionnaire style series of radio buttons which are hidden and then a different set of radio buttons displayed depending on the previous answer. eg
Q1 Is it a man? (if select yes then display)
Q2 Is he called John? (if no then display)
Q3 Is he called Gary? and so on...
I've been testing using the code below but wondered if anyone had any ideas on how this could be done easily?
I have written probably a rigged way of disabling and enabling fields and radio buttons. The only problem is that when i add the radio buttons to turn on and off the input fields wont work any more.
<script language="javascript"> function enableField() {
I can't get the form validation and the postioned layers/radio buttons working at the same time is either 1 of the other. I have provided the code html/css/javascript code below [URL]
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
Im trying to configuere a form that a.a radio buttons that allow the user to choose between quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies and show image when click on my radio button.how to get the image to display whenthey click on the radio button?
how I can make each radio button call a different page. For example If i click on radio button 1 and click submit it will take me to [url].... and if I click radio button 2 and click submit .
I have a set of radio buttons each with an onclick event that has a numeric value. When the button is clicked an input box called "Total" is updated with the new value. The problem I'm having is that if a radio button is checked and one clicks on it again then the onclick event is triggered.
Is there any way to prevent the onclick event from triggering if the radio button is already checked?
I have 3 radio buttons with the same name ("myradio"). The value of each is a different URL (eg. value="http:[url]...)I have a link underneath these (<a href="#">Send</a>). I would like the selected radio button's value to be inserted into the href of the link, and if the user selects a different radio button that this changes.
I have a form with 4 radio buttons, the scenario is, when a user click on a radio button a hidden content will be displayed and the other three radio buttons will be disabled so that at one time a user can only click and view single radio button and the hidden content.Here is my code to show hide the hidden content but i need when the user select one radio button the other radio buttons should disable.
what i need to do to add all the radio botton and check box. i already finish the add formula on the checkbox but i do not know how to add the two selected radio buttons to my checkbox buttons.for example:
I have 2 tables with Add/Remove Row buttons. The first table's Add Row button adds a row that belongs in the second table, and the Remove Row button gives me an Object Error. The second table works properly. The JavaScript for both tables is identical except for the ID's. When the tables are put into seperate html files both of the Add buttons work properly, but the remove row button from table one is still giving me the Object Error.
I want my radio buttons to become submit buttons as well. So when a user clicks on a radio button it submits the action and refreshes the page accordingly. As of now using only using onclick="this.form.submit()" the page only refreshes with no change. Here is a copy of the entire form. It is a custom shipping options form (I did not create it).
i have a web based system, i would like to create code for the system for the webpage to display properly in every browser but i do not know where to start from.
In the past few days I've been trying to make this script work but why the following script works on IE but not on other browsers? It seems that IE waits for the <img> tags to load in the #slideshow and then starts the slideshow. The other browsers seem to load the slideshow while the XML parser is trying to load img tags. It only shows the first image and doesn't do anything else. What could cause this? I tried delay(), load(), ready().
i looked in one of my other projects that i recently finished, and the code seems to be identical.Basically it should generate an array of Canvases where individual letters can be written. Later other javascript code will try to determine which letter was written (letter recognition).The error that i keep getting is "ChangeThisID is Null".
I am trying to use the jquery radio buttons and everything looks well until I press the submit button.What is passed on in my POST variable for the radio buttons is the string "on" and not at all the name of the button. All of the buttons just returns "on".[URL]
Can someone tell me where the problem here is? I can't get the "squared()" function to work properly...it supposed to put the squared value into the iframe area....
I'm pretty new to jquery and I've been working on a little project to see what I can do. The issue is when I first visit the page and click the first link that appears in the main section it displays the popup box as wanted. Now when I click another day, for instance sunday and try to click the first link it doesn't do anything. And if I click back to Saturday the first link also doesn't do anything.
It seems something is not properly activating or maybe a command is overwriting and not allowing it to work like it does when you first hit the landing page.
I was on HTMLDrive.net looking for some cool effects for my site, and when I tried to put two of them in a page together it would not work properly. I can get only one to work at a time. It seems that they somehow interfere with each other, but I don't know how. Now have a little experience with JavaScript and jquery, but nothing I tried would work. Here is what I have in my page header right now:
[Code]...
The first one is an accordion navigation panel and it comes with a JavaScript file to link to in the header. Other than that there is no more JavaScript involved with it. Here is the link to it: Accordion Navigation The other one is a image slide show that uses jquery. it has the jquery script, a script file of it own, and some JavaScript right in the page header. Here is the link to this one:
