all of the table columns shrink to the minimum size for the content,
ignoring the style width settings. Any suggestion as to why this might
be the case?
I'm trying to create a script which allows multiple different tables to be shown on mouseover of an area (in this case, a table cell). However, I want the tables to appear in a long list for those who have JS disabled. For obvious reasons I don't want two copies of the tables in my html, and obviously only want the mouseover section to appear for those with JS enabled.
The basic problems I have so far is that I can't get the div "plaintables" (which contains all the tables) to be hidden when JS is enabled, and when I mouseover (activating scim()), I get the message [object HTMLTableElement] rather than the actual table.
Pretty much just starting out with Javascript, so this is probably something really simple I have done wrong.
Just incase it matters, I don't have access to the contents of the <head> tag (This is for a site with an existing template) - it would be easier if everything could be done in the <body> section.
I have the non-standard element <testele></testele> In every browser except IE, this bit of JavaScript will successfully change the content of the above element: document.getElementsByTagName("testele")[0].innerHTML = 'hi'; However, if I change the <testele> to just a <span> (in the HTML and the JavaScript), it now successfully changes the content of the element in every browser, including IE.
I am dynamically building a part of my HTML page by setting the innerHTML of a DIV element. Immediately after I do that I try to retrieve the clientHeight and clientWidth of the DIV element in order to determine what height and width the element actually ended up being. But I always get 0 as both the height and width. The contents of the DIV, i.e. the HTML code that I inserted into it via the innerHTML, does indeed get displayed on the page. But I suspect that the browser doesn't actually update the page until AFTER my JavaScript code has completed and "returns control" to the browser.
Does that make sense? Is there any way I can force the browser to update the page BEFORE my code completes its processing, so that I can properly retrieve the width and height of the element I just inserted into the page?
I am currently making a website with 2 Frames, top and bottom. Top Frame will be a table.Bottom Frame will be a row with the information from the last row *you* clicked in Top Frame.
I have folloowing code. The problem is that there are possibly 300 rows. If I set 200 of the rows' style.display = 'none', will the user see weird thing like: they may see all 300 rows first then it suddenly reduced to 100 rows? I need to load all the rows first for some other reasons which probably doesn't appy here. I want the user to just see 100 rows right from the start.
I'm populating a table from my database using .Net and within this application, I am then comparing the value the user has entered to the first column of every table row in the pre-populated table.For some reason, when I loop through each row in the table and return the value in the first column...the value always stays the same when in fact i know its different by just looking at it on the screen and in the html source.I throw up an alert message for each time it loops, and it its looping the correct amount of times, just not returning a the correct value.
I currently have a table that shows a background image and I have 1 TD with 100% width and height and in that TD I have a DIV that moves by margin-left and margin-top via JavaScript and the height is approx 20px by 20px, so basically I have a map with a character that moves when keys are pressed.
My problem is I'm having trouble setting limits (where the character cannot go inside the TD). etc if it reachs a X and Y then it would stop, but it's not that easy, I currently have this in a IF function when the keys are pressed:
But that code doesn' work correctly because I want the numbers in exclude.x to match the oppisite of exclude.y so 50 and 50, 50 and 60 but instead its like this 50 and 50 or 60 or 70 or 80 or 90.
I just want it to be set so it matches the number...
However, I have a few <td> tags that could have the same ID's but in different forms of the document.
How do I gain access to those "elements" if the ID's are ambiguous and I know the name of the form? Also, what says the jury for non-unique ID's in the same document?
given a cell from a table... function Tbl_GetCell(tbl, row, col) { var theRow = tbl.getElementsByTagName("tr")[row]; return theRow.getElementsByTagName("td")[col]; }
I can set attributes like width, height, and align, but how can I set cell style info?
cell = GetCell(tbl,row,col) these work fine... cell.align = "center"; cell.height = 22; but this doesn't... cell.style = "font-weight: bold; text-decoration: blink"
I've created a table in HTML but I need to specify the cell width client side. I need to loop through the cells and set the size based on the rendered size of some other elements.
I'm using the following doctype <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
This is causing me problems in Firefox. The width attribute is being set correctly but the actual table cells aren't being resized. Has anybody seen this before and does anybody have a workaround?
I have a table with onw row and one column.I have set class for column also written function for click event for class.Now added table row dynamically and set same class.But click event works only for existing row not for newly added row.
OK, I am very new to jQuery so bare with me here. I am trying to get the document body height and set it as the height of a table, after the page has been loaded. Below is an example of what I am trying to do.
[Code]...
I am not sure where to place the jQuery code, before or after the table tag...and I am not even sure if any of my jQuery code is correct. Once again, i need to set the table height AFTER the document has been loaded and then dynamically change the height of the table.
I have a table that I wrote/borrowed a function to clone a row in a table. I want the new row to be cleared of data.
$("#addrow").live("click", function() { //clone last row to variable var row = $('#dataTable tbody>tr:last').clone(true); //clear text boxes
[Code]....
The code to clear the text boxes and selection boxes work great. The code to clear the text from the table cells that do not have a form element do not work at all. The .Client and .Project cells that I want to clear are populated by an ajax call and the .total cell is populated by a function that sums the values the text boxes.
I have a need to select all table rows in the outer table of a cascading table structure, that is a table with contained tables. I tried to use the "Context" section of jQuery, but the table rows of the sub tables are being selected as well.
I am trying to get a scrollable table working. The table is placed inside a div and the ros are placed within the tbody. Can anyone suggest me a way to adjust the height of the scrollable table container with respect to the last row in the table? I am new to this scrollable table.
how I would dynamically add another table once text fields in the existing table is clicked on. So pretty much what I have is a table with 5 textboxes lined up horizontally in the first row along with couple of buttons in the second row. What I want is that once one text box is clicked, another table like the one above is created and appears below that initial table. So this is the inital table that should be replicated on each click:
I think I can make a good interesting list of postings under this subject header, 'All browsers are cool but IE.'
Anyway, the following code will show a table with an input box labeled, 'name', on all browsers (Gecko, KHTML, Opera) except IE. Is there anybody ever hit on this issue before?
I have two tables and i need move some rows from first table to move second table. I found on web how move rows in one table but i don´t know how moving in between two tables. Do you know where i found some information or example?.
I have a query(JQuery) here. can you plz help me in fixing the issue with this code. That is when I click on <tr> of first table that should get removed from first table and added to second table. It is happening fine and good. But when I double click on the <tr> that is added to second table no event is triggered. Why?
I have a site with 2 side by side tables with matching data. The left table is a drag-n-drop implementation so you can reorder the values in the database just by dragging and dropping. It works wonderfully. I want the right table to reflect the changes instantaneously. I got the right table to reload itself with the following jquery line:
