JQuery :: Detect Click Event In Table Cell With In DIV's?

Sep 8, 2010

My program retrieves a table via an ajax call and places it in the ocvfitems div below. The first cell in every row is defined as: echo("<td class='tdclick'><a href='#'>$fnum</a>"); When the td is clicked I need the function to be called. It worked before I created the table via ajax. The table does display properly and the column is underlined as a href. I believe that the first line of the function is the culprit but I can't seem to get it to work.

JQuery :: Re-bind Click Event On Button In Table Row?

Jul 1, 2010

I'm making a Vacation Rental application and it works... for the most part. The following will describe what a property owner will be doing when they subscribe to this site to add their vacation rental property to the site.

They first enter information about the Property Site itself, location, address.etc., and then they add specific attributes about the property, such as how many rooms are in the house, bathrooms, accommodations, etc.

Here's an image for the page:

When the "Add Button" button is clicked, it opens a jQuery dialog to allow the site owner to enter information about the room, such as the Room name, description, how many it sleeps, etc. This all works, for the most part.

Here's a shot of the dialog:

When the site owner clicks the "Save" button, the data in the dialog is sent to the server via Ajax (Json). Again this all works.

After a successful transaction, the server controller returns HTML of the table of rooms for this property site and then the jQuery success option replaces the existing HTML table with the new table that has the new row that includes the new room information.

Again, this does work.

What doesn't work completely correctly is, in each row of the table are buttons to "Edit" the room, or "Manage Beds" for the room, and after the table is dynamically replaced via the jQuery script, the button click events in each row are no longer bound.

So it's the "Manage Beds", "Edit" and "Delete" buttons that lose their event binding after the HTML table is replaced when a new Room is added or edited.

Is there a way to re-bind the button events after the table is replaced? I'd really like this to be bullet-proof.

JQuery :: Binding Click Event To Specific Cell In All Rows Of A Table?

Jul 1, 2010

in a table I want to have a specific click event (calling a function) for the first cell of each row and another function call e.g. for the third table cell.I assigned different class names to these cells and used this script:$("#tab_kat tr").find(".firstCell").bind("click", function() { ... });And the same for ".thirdCell".But is this possible without assigning class names to reduce the size of the code?Something like that:$("#tab_kat tr td.cells[1]").bind("click", function() { ... });

Function On Table Row But Not On Image Inside Table Row?

Sep 1, 2010

My issue is that I have a javascript function applied on page load via an addLoadEvent function call in the head to every row (dynamic number of records retrieved) on a table. On every row of the table I also have an element (image or button) that performs a different function that is assigned on the element itself.Unfortunately, when I click the element it also performs the function that was applied to the row in the page load. Is there any way to not call this function on element click?

<script type="text/javascript">
addLoadEvent(function() { function1(1); })
//function1 makes the table rows do something appearance wise.

Put An Expanding Table Inside A Table

Apr 25, 2011

I make a table that shows invoice, JobName, and date.

It might show up like this...

Ok, then, when the user clicks one of those invoice numbers, I'd like to have a table expand from within that table that shows the details of that invoice

Details might look like:

So the final product would look like this when the "10001" invoice button is clicked:

Is this something I should use AJAX for? I'd like it to look pretty like what I saw in this "Welcome to ruby" page. The page seems to reference AJAX only once, and it's in the below snippet... I'm confused how it works since I can't find and AJAX imports

I tried messing around with an html tag table, but here's where I got... which doesn't even work without the complicated expansion effects:

JQuery :: Check If A Table's First Row Is Even Or Odd?

Dec 6, 2010

i have a table that displays items for my shopping cart. i use ajax and prepend the added item to the table. For my employees sake,i zebra stripe the rows to make the cart easier to view and i highlight the first row in a blue color. When my employee scans an item it is prepended to the table so its always first.

when a new item is scanned i prepend it to the table highlighted. when another item is scanned i am able to remove the highlight of the previous scanned item and add highlight to the new scanned item. my problem is, after i remove the highlight it makes the background white and for everyother item scanned after. The logic im thinking is after i remove the highlight, check wether to see if the row is odd or even and to color it white or the zebra stripped color. Is there a better way to do this. otherwise i would like to know how to check if the row is even or odd.

JQuery :: How To Select TR Inside Another Table

Oct 1, 2010

I am trying to hide aTRthat does not have id or class.
Example:
<table><tr><td>
<table><tr><td>
<table><tr>
<td>xxx</td><td class="SOMECLASS">SOMETEXT</td>
</tr><tr>
<td>yyy</td><td class="SOMECLASS"></td>
</tr></table></td></tr>
</table></td></tr>
</table>

The row contains a TD with class Some Class and contains some text Some Text. I tried this:
$("tr:has(:contains('SOMETEXT').SOMECLASS)").hide();
My problem is that the page has many nested tables and rows containing rows,so the selector above is true for all the TR's on the page and almost the whole pages is hidden. How can one change the selector to focus only on the row I am interested in?

JQuery :: $(this).parents('tr') Problem, When Table Inside TD

Jun 24, 2010

I have this page where one enters statistics (Goals, Assists) and a function that sums the two and enters the value in a third field TP. I first implemented this function in a pop-up window only with the actual stats table, and it worked like a charm. When I tried to use the same functionality in a table that is placed inside another table and another <TD> tag, it does not work as designed. See problem description further down.

JAVASCRIPT CODE

PHP Code:

HTML AND PHP CODE (that is relevant)

PHP Code:

Problem: Instead of filling the TP field of the actual row, it fills all TP fields on the page, that is for all rows.

HOWEVER, if I remove the top row (<td width="817" bgcolor="white" valign="top">), so that the table is not inside that TD, it works fine.

How should I adjust the script to make it work inside the TD?

JQuery :: How To Access Checkbox Value Inside Table

Jun 14, 2011

I'm having problem with getting the checkbox state of a selected row inside table. I don't know if there is any specific function to determinate which row is selected so I've thought of the following... when the row is selected, style(background color) is applied to the tr element, so I thought that I could looked for the tr element which has that style and extracted checkbox state from it.

<table><tr>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox"/></td>
<td>Text</td></tr>
<tr style="background-color:LightBlue;">
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox" checked /></td>
<td>Text</td></tr>
<tr><td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox"/></td>
<td>Text</td>
</tr></table>

If we assume now that second row is selected, how would I get the state of the checkbox (checked, unchecked)?

JQuery :: Clone Table Row And Clear Inputs And Table Cells?

Dec 8, 2010

I have a table that I wrote/borrowed a function to clone a row in a table. I want the new row to be cleared of data.

$("#addrow").live("click", function() {
//clone last row to variable
var row = $('#dataTable tbody>tr:last').clone(true);
//clear text boxes

The code to clear the text boxes and selection boxes work great. The code to clear the text from the table cells that do not have a form element do not work at all. The .Client and .Project cells that I want to clear are populated by an ajax call and the .total cell is populated by a function that sums the values the text boxes.
