JQuery :: How To Access Checkbox Value Inside Table
Jun 14, 2011
I'm having problem with getting the checkbox state of a selected row inside table. I don't know if there is any specific function to determinate which row is selected so I've thought of the following... when the row is selected, style(background color) is applied to the tr element, so I thought that I could looked for the tr element which has that style and extracted checkbox state from it.
Something I was wanting to do with jQuery the other day was to obtain a reference to the original selector from inside the each function. I was looking through the documentation and for the life of me couldn't come across a suitable solution.I had to use an external variable instead and reference that from within the function, which seems to be a non-optimal solution.
Code javascript: $('li').each(function () { // how to reference the $('li') selector from in here
My issue is that I have a javascript function applied on page load via an addLoadEvent function call in the head to every row (dynamic number of records retrieved) on a table. On every row of the table I also have an element (image or button) that performs a different function that is assigned on the element itself.Unfortunately, when I click the element it also performs the function that was applied to the row in the page load. Is there any way to not call this function on element click?
<script type="text/javascript"> addLoadEvent(function() { function1(1); }) //function1 makes the table rows do something appearance wise.
In one of my functions I got the following lambda function. It works as intended, but I got a tiny problem. I'm trying to access the function-scooped variable "matched" and set it's value to "true". The problem is that it seems like the variable is existing as a local variable inside the lambda function, even if it's not declared inside the lambda function itself. So, the change "matched = true;" does not effect the variable that I declared.
Code:
//... code var matched = new Boolean(false); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if(xmlhttp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttp.status == 200) {
Well, it turns out IE8 has yet another problem. My code has a global variable (to the object) inside an object declaration that cannot be accessed by a function (that is also global).
The code is like so: Code: function myobject(params){ //public this.initialize = function(){...} //private some variables... //problem variable var mouse = new Object() mouse.x = 0; mouse.y = 0;
//this function is in an interval function moveslides() { /* this is where I have the problem
It seems that the function doesn't recognize that mouse.x, or mouse for that matter, exists. Mouse is global to the object, so why can't this function access it? */if(mouse.x) { code... }}} The page is at [URL] and works on every browser, including finnicky opera, except for ie. The full code is availabe when you right click and view the source on the page.
I have a table to which I am dynamically adding rows to. When a user clicks a link I need to select a checkbox and a textbox in each row to do some validation.
I have created a dynamic table to display data. I also added a checkbox field with a class name. I want to create a click event for when a user clicks on the checkbox. I can not get my selector to work.
Here is my code
function DynamicTable(data) { var table = $("#grid"); table.html("");
So I have a table with a column that contains checkboxes. I need to get the checked value of the checkbox for a given row. I'm new to jQuery so I only know how to get the html value of a table cell with something like this,
$(this).children('td').eq(0).html()
How do I get the value of a checkbox in a table cell?I have a function,
$("#MyTable tr").dblclick(function(e) { });
So when someone clicks on a row in the table, it pops up a form and populates it with the values from the table row, so they can update it and then submit the changes to a databaseOn the form is a checkbox, I want to set it to the value of the checkbox in the table cell in the selected row. Any suggestions on how to do this?
I've got it working; Clicking on the row will check the box, however now clicking the checkbox itself doesn't work I'm guessing because. It's registering as two events for that one click: One for the row that checks the mark. Two for the checkbox (which is now checked) that unchecks it. The user can click on the row but not on the checkbox itself.
Ideally since the checkbox table cell as some padding (user can click outside the <input>), I'd rather not disable the row click on that cell specifically. $('.rule_event_table tbody tr').click(function(){ $(this).find('input:checkbox').each(function() { if(this.checked) this.checked = false; // toggle the checkbox else this.checked = true; })});
I am trying to hide aTRthat does not have id or class. Example: <table><tr><td> <table><tr><td> <table><tr> <td>xxx</td><td class="SOMECLASS">SOMETEXT</td> </tr><tr> <td>yyy</td><td class="SOMECLASS"></td> </tr></table></td></tr> </table></td></tr> </table>
The row contains a TD with class Some Class and contains some text Some Text. I tried this: $("tr:has(:contains('SOMETEXT').SOMECLASS)").hide(); My problem is that the page has many nested tables and rows containing rows,so the selector above is true for all the TR's on the page and almost the whole pages is hidden. How can one change the selector to focus only on the row I am interested in?
I'm trying to dynamically build a table based on a checkbox being checked in the first td of every tr:
var tableID; var isChecked; var tableImportBuild; function importData(id) {
[Code].....
I should note that isChecked points to a checkbox inside a table cell. I'm trying to clone the entire row the checked checkbox is in. If I alert $(tableImportBuild).html() from within the each loop I do get the result I was expecting but for some reason I don't have access to that variable once outside the loop.
I have a asp.net gridview wich has checkboxes for user selection. What I want to do is retrive the value of a cell when the user clicks on the checkbox
I want to append a table inside a div (which I managed) and within a table a td cell (which I cannot). Here is the code: $('.calendar:eq(0)').append(function() {var d=new Date; $(this).append('<table></table>'); $('<table>').append(function() {$(this).text('<tr><td>9</td></tr>') }); I think that sth wrong with the syntax here.
I have this page where one enters statistics (Goals, Assists) and a function that sums the two and enters the value in a third field TP. I first implemented this function in a pop-up window only with the actual stats table, and it worked like a charm. When I tried to use the same functionality in a table that is placed inside another table and another <TD> tag, it does not work as designed. See problem description further down.
JAVASCRIPT CODE
PHP Code:
HTML AND PHP CODE (that is relevant)
PHP Code:
Problem: Instead of filling the TP field of the actual row, it fills all TP fields on the page, that is for all rows.
HOWEVER, if I remove the top row (<td width="817" bgcolor="white" valign="top">), so that the table is not inside that TD, it works fine.
How should I adjust the script to make it work inside the TD?
how I can use Jquery to append and remove data into a table by checking and unchecking html checkboxes?(Or any plugin for this?) I would like to generate an online order invoice from the following checkboxes:
< fieldset > <
[Code].....
I find these two example on the net but (The first example looks too similar to what I would like to do but with a table) but Icouldn'tfigure out how to modify them? [URL]
I make a table that shows invoice, JobName, and date.
It might show up like this...
Ok, then, when the user clicks one of those invoice numbers, I'd like to have a table expand from within that table that shows the details of that invoice
Details might look like:
So the final product would look like this when the "10001" invoice button is clicked:
Is this something I should use AJAX for? I'd like it to look pretty like what I saw in this "Welcome to ruby" page. The page seems to reference AJAX only once, and it's in the below snippet... I'm confused how it works since I can't find and AJAX imports
I tried messing around with an html tag table, but here's where I got... which doesn't even work without the complicated expansion effects:
I have a javascript function that catches a click event of a row in a table, but I am looking for a way to simulate a click in the first row on page load.
function onRowClick(row) { //Do something }
My table is actually a .Net Datagrid named dgrList, here is the grid
Now when I try to run something like onRowClick(document.frmRemoteScan.dgrList.rows(0)) ;
I get the message that dgrList is null or not an object, and when I loop throught the elements in my form, dgrList is not one of them (yes it is between the form tags).
My question, is there a way to reference the created table via javascipt? Or does anyone have a way to simulate the row clcik via javascript.
