Access Elements Of One Frame To Another?

May 20, 2011

I am trying to access elements of one frame to another by doing the following:

Code:

function GetClientId(strid) {
var i = 0;
var eleName;

[code]...

But I have an asp page that is rendered in the frame with the following html and the <a> is not being picked up with the above code:

HTML Code:

<a id="ctl00_btnLogin" tabindex="3" class="button loginbutton" class="loginbutton" onkeypress="return WebForm_FireDefaultButton(event, 'ctl00_btnLogin');" href="javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("ctl00$btnLogin", "", true, "LoginControl", "", false, true))"><span>Log In</span></a>

Is it because <a> are not part of document.forms? More importantly how would I go through all html tags?

Why Can't I Access Child Frame Elements With The Direct Form?

Jul 20, 2005

I have a document that contains a child frame with name/id = "help_frame".
From Javascript in the top level document I can access the child frame's
elements using:

var elem = document.frames.help_frame.document.getElementById ("chkSynonym");

but if I try:

var elem = document.frames.help_frame.document.chkSynonym;

the result is 'undefined'. What is wrong with my syntax?

JQuery :: Access $('p').eq(1) In Another Frame?

Apr 24, 2011

I know how to access *all* paragraphs in another frame and (eg) change their text content.I do this via the following code (code A)$('p' , window.parent.log.document).text('test')(log is the name of the frame that contains the paragraphs)But I cannot access a *particular* paragraph (eg the 2nd paragraph) - if there were no frames in the document I would do this via$('p').eq(1) but I cannot get this to work using any variation (and I feel as if I've tried them all!) of code A.

JQuery :: How To Access Checkbox Value Inside Table

Jun 14, 2011

I'm having problem with getting the checkbox state of a selected row inside table. I don't know if there is any specific function to determinate which row is selected so I've thought of the following... when the row is selected, style(background color) is applied to the tr element, so I thought that I could looked for the tr element which has that style and extracted checkbox state from it.

<table><tr>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox"/></td>
<td>Text</td></tr>
<tr style="background-color:LightBlue;">
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox" checked /></td>
<td>Text</td></tr>
<tr><td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox"/></td>
<td>Text</td>
</tr></table>

If we assume now that second row is selected, how would I get the state of the checkbox (checked, unchecked)?

JQuery :: Access Original Selection Inside .each()?

Apr 11, 2010

Something I was wanting to do with jQuery the other day was to obtain a reference to the original selector from inside the each function. I was looking through the documentation and for the life of me couldn't come across a suitable solution.I had to use an external variable instead and reference that from within the function, which seems to be a non-optimal solution.

Code javascript:
$('li').each(function () {

Getting Firefox 1.5 To Show .pgn-file In Frame And Then Access It's Text?

Mar 29, 2009

A pgn-file is a plain text file. It's used for chessgames.I want Firefox 1.5.0.12 on Win XP SP2 to show the pgn-file in a frame when I click on the link.That's the first problem: Since I installed some years ago some chessprogram Firefox always asks what to do with a .pgn-file (Download dialog).I know I can change this behaviour either in config:about or in some configuration file for mime types.But how to do that??? (There are extensions for that, but only for Firefox 2 and higher. ): And I would prefer to change it via the about:config-file or in the mime-configuration file, some .rdf-file I think.Then I want to access the plain text in that frame with javascript. How could I do that?(If you need a pgn-file to test, just take any text-file and rename the ending to .pgn.)

Getting The URL Of A Page Inside A Frame

Apr 7, 2011

[URL] I have an index.html that sets up 3 Frames. They are called FrameTop, FrameA and FrameB. See pic below. In FrameTop the user can type in a url into a textbox with id="urlINPUT". When user clicks LOADA it loads that url into FrameA. User can then browse web in FrameA, clicking links etc and going to new pages. The second button LOADB is designed to determine the current location/url of the page displayed in FrameA and load that into FrameB. So far when I write the javascript in FrameTop LOADA works but LOADB loads the FrameTop into FrameB! [error!]

I suspect my error lies in use of parent/self in the parent.frame.location.

Here is my page layout. [URL]

-----------------Index.html-------------------------------------
<frameset rows="5%,*">
<frame name="FrameTop" src="frame_top.html" />
<frameset cols="50%,50%">

[Code]....

index.html loads the index correctly and displays FrameTop, FrameA and FrameB. The load A button also works correctly BUT when I click LoadB it loads FrameTop into FrameB! This happens when no page is loaded into FrameA AND when an external page in loaded in. [URL]

JQuery :: Access The Content Of An Iframe?

Jun 1, 2009

I am trying to access the content of an iframe. I have search google and read a couple of other post, but my problem is a little bit more complicated. I can't use the ...contents().find("whatever") function though the result is of content type text/plain. In other words: There is not HTML is the result. The result cannot be tampered with either. Because contents, html and text are not really helping me I thought to use a counter. Whenever the length would be more than 1 I would show the result. But that doesn't seem to work either.
