I need to access an element of my top window from inside an IFrame within that window.
I tried:
parent.MYFRAME.document.getElementById("LHS");
and i get a "Access Denied"
is there a way to do this?
is it possible to do document.getElementById("id-1").document,getElementById("id-2") in order to access an element inside another element
<div id="id-2"></div>
<div id="id-1"><div id="id-2"></div></div>
... i want to access the second element with id "id-2"
i have a menu and i would like to change the color of the Categories which have subcategories only. In my example the basic categories are: News , Announcements , Contact and Career. Only Announcements and Career categories have subcategories. So i would like those two to turn green. The fact is that the list items include a href ,so i don't know how to access those "a href" combined with "this".
<ul id="my_menu">
<li id="id0"><a href="#" style="text-decoration:none">News</a></li>
<li id="id1"><a href="#" style="text-decoration:none">Announcements</a>
<ul>

i have a menu generated by a list with nested lists. i want the parent link to stay highlighted when the mouse hovers over the sub menus. because those sub menus are also generated by jquery (qtip), CSS alone won't do it (triedul.topnav li:hover a {background-color: #F00;}).is there a way to do this using jquery?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having problem with getting the checkbox state of a selected row inside table. I don't know if there is any specific function to determinate which row is selected so I've thought of the following... when the row is selected, style(background color) is applied to the tr element, so I thought that I could looked for the tr element which has that style and extracted checkbox state from it.
<table><tr>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox"/></td>
<td>Text</td></tr>
<tr style="background-color:LightBlue;">
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox" checked /></td>
<td>Text</td></tr>
<tr><td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td>Text</td>
<td><input type="checkbox"/></td>
<td>Text</td>
</tr></table>
If we assume now that second row is selected, how would I get the state of the checkbox (checked, unchecked)?
Something I was wanting to do with jQuery the other day was to obtain a reference to the original selector from inside the each function. I was looking through the documentation and for the life of me couldn't come across a suitable solution.I had to use an external variable instead and reference that from within the function, which seems to be a non-optimal solution.
Code javascript:
$('li').each(function () {
// how to reference the $('li') selector from in here

I'm working on a project that requires dynamic manipulation of an ordered list -- adding and removing elements in response to the user pressing buttons. I've run in to some odd behavior. Here's my code:
HTML
<ol id="track-list">
<li>Static Content Here</li>
</ol>
<input type="button" id="add-track" value="Add Track" />
jQuery:
$("#add-track").click(function(){
var listEl = $("<li>Dynamic Content Here</li>");
listEl.hide();
[code]....
Looks pretty straightforward, problem is when I add the new list element it does not prepend it with any number (being part of an ordered list). Now if I remove the hide and fadeIn lines (just append it), it inserts it correctly with a number before it, but I want this to look pretty being jQuery and all...
Below is HTML
<DIV class=info-box>
<DIV class=info-list>
<UL>
<LI>Author <SPAN></SPAN></LI>

I want hidecurrent LI element if SPAN doesnot contain anytext, Author doesnot having value so that will be hidden.
My DOM structure in HTML page have some elements 'IMG'. One of 'img' element have attribute 'src' = 'lolo1.jpg'. How can i find the 'DIV' element with this specific 'img' element inside? I have to find nearest 'DIV'.

I wanna write function like a GetNearestDivID('lolo2.jpg') which would give me result 'mix2'
i have got about 50 definition lists on one html-page witch all look linke this:
<dl>
<dt class="title">aaa</dt>
<dd class="subtitle">bbb</dd>
<dd class="city">ccc</dd>
<dd class="email">ddd</dd>
<dd class="website">eee</dd>
<dd class="description">fff</dd>
</dl>
if the dt-element in one of the definition lists has a specific css-property (e.g. length > 100px) then the dd-element with the css-class "subtitle" in the same definition list should be removed.
I have a problem with selecting certain elements with jquery.I have a "newsfeed" where I have a lot of these tables:
Code:
<table class=newsfeed_table>
<tr>
<td class="newsfeed_table_icon"><img src="/CodeIgniter/verkstad/icons/nf-msg-cr.png" alt=""/></td>[code]....
It's basically just a table containing a message, who wrote it and when.I'm trying to build a function that filters what types of posts are visible in the newsfeed. So by clicking a button I want to be able to filter out the "message"-post or the "sale-alert"-post.Only way I can see which type of post it is, is by looking at the image source in the table. So depending on what that is, I want to set the table to display:none.
But I've been looking into the jquery selector a bit but I can't make it work. I've tried with .each(function and child selector...
I have a pretty simple survey form, with 5 checkbox answers, one of them being "None of the Above". All 5 are part of the same question1[] array. My goal is to have a function that unchecks the other 4 boxes when None of the Above is checked. The problem is that since None of the Above is part of the question1 array, it unchecks itself. So how do I separate this None of the Above option? After all, it is still a valid answer to question 1, so I don't want it to sit in a different array just because...
Here's what I have now:
Java:
function SetValues(Form, CheckBox, Value){
var objCheckBoxes = document.forms[Form].elements[CheckBox];
var countCheckBoxes = objCheckBoxes.length;
for(var i = 0; i < countCheckBoxes; i++)
objCheckBoxes[i].checked = Value;
}
HTML:
<input id="question1" name="question1[]" type="checkbox" value="Answer 1"> 1<br>
<input id="question1" name="question1[]" type="checkbox" value="Answer 2"> 2<br>
<input id="question1" name="question1[]" type="checkbox" value="Answer 3"> 3<br>
<input id="question1" name="question1[]" type="checkbox" value="Answer 4"> 4<br>
<input id="question1" name="question1[]" type="checkbox" value="None of the above" onclick="SetValues('form1', 'question1[]', false);"> None of the above <br>
So again the issue with this code is that since None of the Above is inside the question1 array, it unchecks itself as well.
I have code

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had to restructure my XML data on my project and now my code does not work. Before the xml was structured like this:
<project><copy></copy><image></image></project>
Now it is:
<company><project><copy></copy><image></image></project><project><copy></copy><image></image></project><project><copy></copy><image></image></project></company>
This used to work to grab the image and copy, (this) being the 'project' element:
text = $(this).find("copy").text();
photo = "imgs/work/" + $(this).find("image").text();
Now, since there can be multiple 'project' elements inside a company element I have a counter that tracks which index I should be on, but I don't know the syntax for getting project(2) image and copy within a company. I tried the following code using eq, but it's not working.
var currCompanyProj = 1;
text = $((this).project.eq("+currCompanyProj+")).find("copy").text();
I built an IE-only function that modifies the DOM to create a custom container with rounded corners and some shading at the top. It only gets called when the browser is IE and its version is < 9. It takes the following block:
And turns it into this:
The UI looks identical to FF, which uses the CSS3 attributes to create the rounded box. HOWEVER, in IE8, I can no longer access the embedded <input> element (which does not change). I'm trying to get the value of the <input> tag with the ID of "username" by doing this:
When I disable my DOM manipulation code so that in IE, it remains an ugly, square box, I can get the value of the <input> element with no problem. Once I manipulate the DOM, IE always returns the empty string while FF and Opera work perfectly.
