JQuery :: Dynamically Adding Table Row And Setting Class?
Sep 5, 2010
I have a table with onw row and one column.I have set class for column also written function for click event for class.Now added table row dynamically and set same class.But click event works only for existing row not for newly added row.
OK, I am very new to jQuery so bare with me here. I am trying to get the document body height and set it as the height of a table, after the page has been loaded. Below is an example of what I am trying to do.
[Code]...
I am not sure where to place the jQuery code, before or after the table tag...and I am not even sure if any of my jQuery code is correct. Once again, i need to set the table height AFTER the document has been loaded and then dynamically change the height of the table.
I know the refresh() method is gone since version 1.2 but for somereason even if it's suposed to work without it I can't get it to work.Here's the scenario:I got a select box, depending on the selection I want certain elementto validate so I dynamically add validation class to those elementlike this.$("input#element").toggleClass("{validate:{required:true}}");But when I click submit the element doesn't get validated at all but Ican see the class has been added in firebug.
I want to add rows and columns on click. So, i have a table with columns and rows and I had a add and remove button. So I want the user to be able to add/remove more rows if they have multiple inputs/outputs.So what I want is when the user clicks on add.png, I want another row of Input and Description to appear underneath the current oneHere is my code..
i am having a table with some rows, which are shown under some categories. how can i dynamically add some rows to the table. there is a '>>' symbol infront of each category names. when i click on that symbol, i want to enlarge this category by adding more no of rows under this. And the symbol must turn to '<<'. when click on this, the reverse thing, ie, remove some rows and shows the initial rows.
i'm creating a ASP page, which is going to have a form in it that needs filling out. part of the form will be a table with a header row, then the next rows will have text boxes that need filling out. is there a way of putting in a dropdown box that contatins numbers that will dynamically show the rows. for example if i select 5, then five rows of text boxes will appear. if i select 14 then 14 appear.
jquery and am trying to set the class value on a td cell. It looks as though it is crashing on setting the attr value. This is effectively what I am trying to do.
// get my row var row = $("#tableID").find("tr:eq(0)"); // get the cells in this row
In my page i have a dropdown 'Type' with id 'idType', which needs to be set to focus when the page loads (depending on whether it has a value or not..)The css is not getting applied to the dropdown when it is in focus. Please can you help me to find a solution since i am new to jquery
I'm opening a dialog box using the jQuery UI dialog methods, this box will display a form, and I would like to autofocus the first element. I'm also modifying tabindex of the different form fields of this new form in order to make them a lot higher than those of the original page, and thus navigate through the form using only the tab key. The issue is that I can correctly change tabindex values, and correctly focus the first element but pressing tab will not focus the next element in my newly added form but seems to act as I was focusing the first "tabindexable" element of my original page. I also note that manually focusing (ie. clicking) the element cause no problem, new tab index order is respected. Does anyone have a clue where it can came from ? Something seems to be messed up in the tabindex order. Tested on FF3, maybe the browser only update tabindex order on "manual" focus and not when modifying attributes ?
I'm working on a site where we display two lists of boats, sail or power via the organic tabs plugin. Now, our client wants us to show one list type by default depending on the class of the body tag - for example, if the user was on a sailing boat page, the body would have a class of 'sailPage' and therefore the list that would be shown by default would be the 'sail list' - and vice versa for the power (although be default this one shows first anyways as it is the first 'panel' in the HTML') In my admittedly rather clumsy way, I've written the following jQuery function which does seem to work (well, the first half) - however when the user clicks back on to the 'power' tab whilst on page with a class of 'sail', the power list doesn't display. There also seems to be a problem in IE7 where the content of the lists will not display until you select the other tab first, and then select the second tab again?
adding a class to an active li. I'm working in drupal, and the system adds a .active class to the DOM of whatever li class was last selected.In my .js file I added the following:
$('document').ready(function(){ var tabActive = $('#tabs-tabset ul.primary li.active a'); tabActive.addClass('tabknotch') });
This works perfectly...for the first tab. when I navigate to the next tab the class does not change. I thought maybe there's a variable in the dom that is causing the class to not move, so I tried narrowing the div that it looks for and tried this:
$('document').ready(function(){ var tabActive = $('li.active a'); tabActive.addClass('tabknotch') });
This achieved the exact same results...so there's obviously something I'm missing, but don't know what it is. If it's any help, here are two examples of the generated DOM that occurs when clicking on the active li. The first example is the div that has the class added, and the second is a div that does not have anything added.
Overview
(this is the active tab where the jQuery succesfully adds the "tabknotch" class)
Features
(this is the active tab that does not have the class added when clicked. When this li is active knotchtab remains on the other li that no longer has the .active class attributed)
I have a single page website and I would like to add an .active class to my links when I reach a certain point on the page (this will be done by unique div or section id's). The classes are currently empty, so I would need to be able to remove and replace the .active class accordingly.
I have wrote some jQuery thats adds a class to any tag that contains an external link. That way an icon can be applied to the using CSS!
Code JavaScript: $("#contentPg > p > a[href^='http://']").addClass('icon').addClass('wwwDoc').attr('rel','external');
However, I want to try and modify this script so that it only adds the class if the tag is directly after a
, however I am not sure how to achieve this? The reason I wish to achieve this is so that Icons are not applied when the link is in the middle of a line of text, but only when the link is on a line of its own!
At this point I have been able to add the row. But what I want to do and am having trouble with is alternating the row colour to the dynamically added row element.
Sample of code I am using:
Code: var tbody = document.getElementById('tableItems');
var td1 = document.createElement("td"); td1.appendChild(document.createTextNode(qty)); td1.setAttribute("class","qty"); row.appendChild(td1); tbody.appendChild(row); One thing that puzzles me, is that even after adding a row the table my table.rows.length still = 0.
Does anyone know how I can determine the appropriate amount of rows so that I can apply the appropriate class?
Or is there just something blatantly wrong in my approach?
function mOver(obj){ if (obj.id == "people") { document.getElementById(obj.id).className="mOverTwoLine" } else {document.getElementById(obj.id).className="mOver" } }
function mOut(obj){ document.getElementById(obj.id).className="default" }
function rightNavHere(obj) { if (obj == "people") { document.getElementById(obj).className="mDownTwoLine" } else {document.getElementById(obj).className="mDown" } }
/**/ to manage a rollover, and I am trying to set the class of a particular link onload via rightNavHere('about'); but it doesn't seem to be working.
I have this script where if users click on a link it will show that particular link in a slideUp, slideDown effect. For example There are two links and Two divs.Both Divs are hidden to start. If the user clicks link 1, Div 1 will appear. If the user clicks link2 Div 1 will close and Div 2 will appear. how do I add a active state when the user clicks on each particular link.

How can I use jQuery to add a css class to the first level of
tags under a
tag? I have this so far: $("ul.menu li:first").addClass("myClass"); But this only adds the "myClass" to the first
, I'd like the set of
tags directly underneath to have the same css class. I have a menu structure and it's only the first set of
tags I'm interested in.
I have a template that will have tons of different background options. I want people looking at the demo to be able to test out each one without having to reload the page.
I'm stumped on a jQuery related development task. I'm using jQuery in a SharePoint Web Part...The web part pulls data from a list and displays each item as a link button. When the link button is clicked it uses the jQuery-UI to display the body of the list item in a dialog box. I have this working perfectly when all of the class names are hardcoded. So in this code dialog0 is the class name for the body of the first article. newTitle0 is the linkbutton so they correspond 1:1 (and so on Dialog1, newsTitle1 etc..)
Problem is, when I have more than 1 instance of the web part on a page, because they use the same class names (2nd web part would also use Dialog0, newTitle0), if I click on an item in one web part, the item with the same class name opens in the other web part as well.
I've implemented it so each item now has a unique ID but I don't know where to go from here, so multiple instances of the web part can be on the page, and have the jQuery know which body to display when a link is clicked.
