JQuery :: Tabs - Setting List To Display Depending On Class Of Body Tag?

Nov 6, 2011

I'm working on a site where we display two lists of boats, sail or power via the organic tabs plugin. Now, our client wants us to show one list type by default depending on the class of the body tag - for example, if the user was on a sailing boat page, the body would have a class of 'sailPage' and therefore the list that would be shown by default would be the 'sail list' - and vice versa for the power (although be default this one shows first anyways as it is the first 'panel' in the HTML') In my admittedly rather clumsy way, I've written the following jQuery function which does seem to work (well, the first half) - however when the user clicks back on to the 'power' tab whilst on page with a class of 'sail', the power list doesn't display. There also seems to be a problem in IE7 where the content of the lists will not display until you select the other tab first, and then select the second tab again?

<div
id
=
"sailOrPower"
>

JQuery :: Changing Classes Of List Items Depending On The Amount Of Them And Current Class Name?

Mar 28, 2011

I'm trying to create a list that contains items which are filters for a search. The list shows 10 items (max) on the page load. if there are more than 10 it changes the class of the elements > 10 so they are hidden, and a 'show more' link is appended. Now if the user has 'unhidden' the previously hidden items and then chooses one, I want the class for all those previously hidden items to change until the user has deselected that item.

Is there a better, smaller way to write this? It works for what i need currently, but there are future features im planning that will not be practical checkingindividualindexes the way i've done it.

JQuery :: Tabs Links Inside Tab To Other Tabs Work But Active Class Not Visible & External Link

Mar 7, 2011

I'm having issues with jquery and the tabs I'm using. My tabs work but... I want some more functions and that seems to be a big problem for a Javascript and jquery newby.

My HTML:

Code:
<ul class="tabs">
<li>Tab1</li>
<li>Tab2</li>

[Code]....

I really don't know if this is correct but it works! What doesn't work is the active class. If you use one of the buttons in the first tab you go to the right tab but the tab itself has no class called active and that ruins the style.

2)
I also have one other question: lets say that all the above is my second page and I have my frontpage in which I also have buttons. I want somebody to use the button and end up in the third tab of page 2. My link is something like

Code:
page2.html#tab3

I read that using this should lead you the third tab but it's not working for me. You go to the first tab of page 2 instead.

I've been reading a LOT! Jquery for dummies, I googled, read the forum and other forums. I posted on a Dutch forum but no answer. I've added a lot of different code but it doesn't work.

JQuery :: Setting Equal Heights On Tabs?

Feb 25, 2010

Basically, I am asked to set fixed height on a group of tabs. The tab that has maximum text will set the height for the rest of the tabs. The simplified version of the code looks like below:

<ul>
<li><a href="">Tab 1</a></li>
<li><a href="">Tab 2</a></li>
<li><a href="">Tab 3</a></li>
</ul>

Taking this example, I want to set the fixed height for <a> tag.

JQuery :: Tabs Tag Class Change ?

Sep 28, 2011

I am using 1.8.4 jquery tab portion. Currently when a tab is selected or hovered the classes change for the UL, OL tags. I would also like the A and span tags to change with the same values (ui-tabs-selected, ui-tabs-active and ui-tabs-hover).

I am using the standard template as below. I have gotten part of the way there but can't get all of the way there. I am guessing I need to change portions of the code from instances of searching for parent of A to do parent of A, A itself and children of A. Or I could find the first parent ul and say addclass, removeclass from all children.

Setting Body Id?

Jul 18, 2007

Is there a small javascript snippet or something that can dynamically set the body ID on page load? I am using the Inverted Sliding Doors tabs from 456 Berea Street Code: but am trying to do so in a frameset [insert angry comments here] (I know I know, please don't harp!)... anyway, the tabs css sets the active tab using the body ID, but I can't seem to get it to recognize the body ID inside the frameset. Is there a javascript or some other code I could use to dynamically set the body ID? Or perhaps a better approach?

JQuery :: Adding A Class To Body Tag Upon Validated Form Submission?

Nov 13, 2010

I'm working on a little project where they have a slider form and I need to piggyback a tiny line of code into the validation function for the form.

What I need to happen is when the user has filled in all the fields and clicks the submit button AND the data validates THEN a class is added to the body tag. My jQuery knowledge is very minimal - I added the code to where I 'thought' its supposed to go but it didnt seem to work.

jQuery(document).ready(function() {
jQuery('#scroller').css('overflow','hidden');
// Set up the scrollable registration
var wizard = jQuery('#scroller').scrollable();

JQuery :: Create An Unordered List Dynamically And Turn It Into Tabs?

Jul 7, 2010

I'm trying to create an unordered list dynamically and then turn it into jQuery UI tabs... I think I'm having problem with syntax here, I managed to create the list and turn it into the widget, but those tabs don't look right, they have the outline of the widget but the content doesn't have actual tabs, so my guess is it only 'kind of worked'

$
(
"#doc3"
).
append

[Code].....

is this the way to do it? (for now its just the test, eventually i want to use for loop to create the list and pull data from an array)

JQuery :: Toggle() Without Setting Display To None?

Mar 22, 2011

Ok so I have only been playing around for jquery for a couple of days (dear god, its amazing, why am I just now doing this?) Basically I have a div box that I want to change sized when clicked. When the page loads its 150x150 and when clicked it animates to 500x500. I want it to return to 150x150 when clicked again, therefore I am using the toggle function. The first click resizes the div perfectly, but disappears. (the display property is set to none) I'm assuming this has to do with the toggle() function itself, changing the display property using hide(). Here's what I have, seems pretty simple:

[Code]...

1.) why is the div being set to display:none when clicked? 2.) Can I achieve the functionality I've stated with the toggle() function or must I use another method like show() & hide() with an if statement or something?
