Makes User Enter Answer Twice Before Prompt
Jun 10, 2009The application works fine but it makes the user enter the answer twice before it brings up the question "Would you like to continue?". I thought the fix would be to just call "myMH.checkAnswer(studentAnswer);" straight from the method in the "appclass" but that didn't fix it I m so lost on this problem. This problem most likely is right in front of my face but don't see it lol. I have another question as well but I think if I get this one figured out first it might answer my other one.

Prompt The User To Save Changes?
Jul 20, 2011I need to write code to prompt the user to save the changes before the user session expires. And this should happen only when the user makes any changes, if he doesnt make any changes, I should not be prompting him. For this I need to check if any fields are modified in the page. I need a generalised code that goes in the header or footer page of the application, so that I dont have to make any changes to the existing 100 pages.

Nov 20, 2010My group is working on a basic document management system that includes four users. staff member, department director, division chief and clerk. The programming language that we used is PHP.when staff member logs-in on his homepage and uploads a file he must choose reviewer from a dropdown menu that consists of dep. director and div. chief.When he clicks the upload button the homepage of who he chose as reviewer should receive a prompt/alert box upon log-in saying "you have a document to review".For example:if he chose division chief as the reviewer when the person logs-in on his homepage a prompt/alert should display that he has something to review.The code for uploading file is already up and working.

Need OK/Cancel buttons on alert. If user selects Cancel-no action. If user selects OK then I want the text boxes cleared of user text input and focus returned to first text box. I think this may be the code but do not know how to apply it.

User Can't Enter Same Value In Text Area More Than Once
Oct 26, 2010I want to make it so if i have several text boxes only one number can be entered once. So if i type the number 15 in the first text box and type 15 in the second text box an error will occur saying you cant enter the same number twice.

Sep 30, 2009I am new to JavaScript and was wonder how I would go about creating a form to allow the user to enter various words, one at a time. These words are added to an array and displayed in the page using the textarea form element. Each time a new word is entered, it is added to the array, and then the array is sorted in alphabetical order before the words in the array are displayed in the textarea, one per line. I have tried lots and lots of different methods to accomplish this, and I can get it half working when I use the alert function, but I need this to display on the page in a textarea rather than in an alert box, I tried to get it to write to the page using a document.write function, but like I said I am new to JavaScript and unfortunately cant get any of it working.

Sep 20, 2010I need help with javascript regular expressions.I have a text box in which user can enter only 4 types of values.
1) Varchar(n) where 0 < n <=80. Ex: Varchar(20)
2) Char(n) where 0 < n <=80. Ex: Char(20)
3) numeric(x,y) where x>y and 1<= x <=35 and 0<= y <=15. Ex: numeric(20,6)
If the text box value doesnot match this pattern, we should throw him alert message.

If I enter a url of a video when another video is playing, it doesn't playing the new video but it keeps on playing the old video. The reason I think is as it is a RIA, it doesn't refreshes the page and looks for a flash object and its already cached so it doesn't makes any http request in order to play the new video.
So I am planning to claer the cache.

JQuery :: HTTP GET Request When The User Presses "enter" When Inside Of An <input> Element?
Apr 8, 2010For some reason, IE8 insists on submitting an HTTP GET request when the user presses "enter" when inside of an <input> element.It's a rather curious thing because I have an <input type="submit" /> that has an event for "click" that contains the following code:
event.preventDefault();
event.stopImmediatePropagation();
This works on Firefox - if the user presses "Enter" inside of an input element on the form, the submit button will not execute. But on IE, it does. However, if the IE user "clicks" the submit button, it does the right thing.Do I have to also override keydown events too and stop those? Why does Firefox and IE work differently here?

Generate An Array Of Integers?
May 26, 2010I am implementing several scriptaculous sliders in my app... and one thing I can see being an issue is setting their "values" property to limit the selectable values.
This property takes an array of integers representing the allowable values. Unfortunately without this property, the slider will allow you to select a decimal value, so I can't just use a min and max if I only want integer values output.
Creating an array for a small data set is simple: for example "values: [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5]"
But some of my sliders will range into the hundreds and need an array of hundreds of allowable values. Is there a simple way to generate an array of 0 to 100 integer values (or more). I know I could use a for loop but it seems to me there might be an even easier way, though I cannot find it.
I would like it to fit in a code block like this:
