I have PHP form application used to by Sales reps to Enter information about customers but I want to prevent Sales reps from entering same information because of web form behavior after they want to add new customer ? is their away in using Jquery to clear the form for new entry ??

I have a intern page with a form. User should enter their data and send the form. Some data from the user is stored in a database (name,phone). I want to make the form easier and complete the form with data from the database. The user should only enter his personal-number. How can i solve this with jquery? Is there any plugin?

I am new to JavaScript and was wonder how I would go about creating a form to allow the user to enter various words, one at a time. These words are added to an array and displayed in the page using the textarea form element. Each time a new word is entered, it is added to the array, and then the array is sorted in alphabetical order before the words in the array are displayed in the textarea, one per line. I have tried lots and lots of different methods to accomplish this, and I can get it half working when I use the alert function, but I need this to display on the page in a textarea rather than in an alert box, I tried to get it to write to the page using a document.write function, but like I said I am new to JavaScript and unfortunately cant get any of it working.

today I am creating a form where a user can enter prices for things. I want to use javascript to display a total so far and it should update automatically as the user

Currently I have this web database app that I wrote in which I have a page with 3 tables. When I want to enter data into the table I currently select the table name from a drop down list and then have a javascript window open containing a form. The form is processed using php and oracle. The parent window which is the page containing the 3 tables then gets reloaded and, behold you can see a row contaiing the data underneath the choosen table. Have a picture in your mind of my setup?
Ok, what I would like is to try and eliminate the popup window. On each of the table headers I would like to have a button that when clicked, adds a row of input cells, say 6 for example . They should be able to have as many rows as they want. I would also like to add a submit button and a remove row button. And that is it.
From there I can handle the input of the multiple rows with php arrays and array splice to get the indexing I want. That is no problem. I have just never done anything dynamic and have very little javascript experience.
Is there a way to prevent a form submitting when you press enter on a text
field? Some people press enter when they finish typing in a text field out
of habit I guess unconcsciously thinking it will take them to the next
field. Instead it submits the form and this causes all kinds of problems in
my case. Any javascript solution?
I am using jQuery and blockUI to prevent the user from submitting a form twice by double clicking on the interface: This is in my global js file and is called on every pages

This was working really well, but if I have validation on one of the form submits that returns false, I of course want to unblock the UI.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a little curious with regards to alerting a user to invalid data in a form field through inline alerts, rather than alert boxes and without a page load.In otherwords, if someone types in invalid data into a form field, before they hit the submit button, I'd like to use javascript the insert some red text on the side saying "this is invalid".I'm concerned that people with visual disabilities wont notice it due to their screen readers.I.e. if the screen doesn't re-load, will the screen read read the nexly inserted text or will it not do anything until a new page loads?

I'm relatively new to JS but the idea I had was to have several form elements and use JS to collect the users input and send all the values through a hidden element. What's happening is the variable names are being sent rather than the values. The code below is only passing to the next page. I would like to have a main form (written in PHP) that has a "lookup" button next to a text field. When the user clicks "lookup", it should open a new window that lets them search (child.page1). When they enter a name or DOB into the search form, it submits the form through PHP (via POST), to a results page (child.page2). This displays all persons in the database which have a name or DOB == to the search term(s), with a checkbox next to each match. They click the checkbox (or alternenatively, a link), and return the checkbox value to the main window.
I have everything working right now, except that (child.page2) doesn't recognize the main window. If the data is entered on (child.page1), it works fine. I'm not very familiar with javascript.. is this even possible? I've considered using frames, to keep the parent-child relationship evident to the computer, but figured I'd check to see if there's an easier way.

I have a generated html page with one form and many input of checkbox
type.
Those checkbox are grouped in 4 lists and each list of checkbox
contain checkboxs with the same name so I can easily retrieve on my
server side (java) wich checkbox are checked with a
request.getParameterValues(). (Each checkbox has a value corresponding
to the id of the row)
Anyway that's not on the server that the problem is.
Here it comes. When more than 132 checkboxes are checked, my form
submit generate a javascript error. When 132 or less checkboxes are
checked it submit without problem.
I tested the page with firefox, the problem is not here with that
browser and it can submit liek for example 400 checkboxes.
Then I tried to make a workaround, on submiting I browse the elements
list of my document and I create a big string containing all the ids
checked and then I uncheck all checkboxes and submit. there again it
fail to work.
I'm really affraid I'm looking at a nasty bug of Internet explorer
here and I'm going to engineer a more deep workaround if noone can
point out a solution to me.
I should precise that I have no iframes on that page. I indeed saw
that some people got 'access is denied' on submit form but in my case
it works when not too much data is going to be submited !

In Opera, whenever someone presses the <enterbutton, the form is
submitted and the onsubmit does not event get any attention. When the

May I know how can I actually let the user submit a form by punching the enter key instead of clicking on the submit button.
It works in the single textfield but it doesn't once we changed it to multiple lines textfields form element.
I am using the following script on a password form. When the user types in the correct password and clicks on the LOGIN button eveythings works like it should (index2.htm comes up). I would like it to do the same thing if the user presses the ENTER key after typing in the password. I am not a JAVASCRIPT Programmer. I found some examples and encorporated them below. When you type in the wrong password and hit ENTER, you get the proper alert message. however, when you type in the right password and hit ENTER, the screen just refreshes and stays with index.htm. I need to to display index2.htm in the same window. Any thoughts?
