JQuery :: Prevent The User From Submitting A Form Twice By Double Clicking On The Interface
Oct 12, 2009
I am using jQuery and blockUI to prevent the user from submitting a form twice by double clicking on the interface: This is in my global js file and is called on every pages
I'm trying to use an Ajax system to make a double post method submitting. The fact is I want to send the data of the form to a page called Mailing.php (no need to have a response of this page) and in the same time, I want to send the data to another page (external of my website).[code]
I have a page that submits to a db then re-loads its self with new information. Unfortunately it goes wrong when the user double clicks on a one of many text links that provides the info for the display on reload. How do I stop users from double clicking on the page? Ideally I think I would like to call some sort of js function from body onload as I presume this would then cover the whole of the page, but have no idea if this is possible or how to go about writing it.
I have a form with about 10 fields, and the action is sent to a php file which processes the form. Now, I also like to use a Thickbox such that the user can preview the page before actually submitting it to the process.php. That means, I have one submit button and one href, which href links to an iFrame thickbox to preview the page. My problem is that I don't know how to obtain the input values in the iFrame, without user clicking on submit (rather i want to get the values through href). something like the preview on this forum, except I want it on thickbox.
Anybody have a clue why IE and Opera wont prevent this form from submitting? [URL]
If you click "Submit Form" in FX/Safari/Chrome it shows how it should work - it is supposed to prevent submission unless the spam question is filled out correctly. However IE/Opera only show the red error if you put a value in the input. But they still do not prevent submission. In IE/Opera it goes strait to the php validation.
I have a need to submit a form, but don't need the user to click on a button. How do I do this? Is there some way, using JavaScript, to setup a <form> tag to do this?

I have PHP form application used to by Sales reps to Enter information about customers but I want to prevent Sales reps from entering same information because of web form behavior after they want to add new customer ? is their away in using Jquery to clear the form for new entry ??
Is there a way to prevent a form submitting when you press enter on a text field? Some people press enter when they finish typing in a text field out of habit I guess unconcsciously thinking it will take them to the next field. Instead it submits the form and this causes all kinds of problems in my case. Any javascript solution?
I am building an application where more than one device can change settings on a webserver.Imagine using 2 smartphones. If a button on smartphone#1 is being pressed by a user, then on the webserver the status changes from 0 -> 1. I need both smartphone#1 and smartphone#2 to change from 0->1 and vice-versa so that the user knows the current value of the status. How can I accomplish this? Meaning, if I want to make a toggle switch.I read on the website:The first option will be styled as the "on" state switch and the second will be styled as the "off" state so write your options in the correct order.[code]My first guess is to create a function in the <head> in script, with one for the on and one for the off state.Depending on the current value I either load one of the two codes in the <body> section. The script in the <head> decides.
I want to create a left navigation panel which occupies about 150px in width.
But this navigation panel has an icon/button which upon clicking closes or pushes the entire navigation to the extreme left beyond the visibility and the entire page contents widens and adjusts accordingly.
If I need to get back the navigation, I have to click on the icon again to bring it back to its previous place and teh page content adjusts accordingly. The overall idea of having this navigation is to have more space for the content when the navigation is not required.
This is some thing like the Interface of the application of flash/dreamweaver/visualstudio etc.
I have come across with this type of navigation somewhere sometimes back but can't really recall the name of the site.
In the following code <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.uilock.js"></script> <script> /* All you have to do is to call * a uiLock() function */ $(document).ready(function() { $('#submit').click(function(){ // To lock user interface interactions // Optional: put html on top of the lock section, // like animated loading gif $.uiLock('Click Here <a href="#" onclick="$.uiUnlock();">unlock</a>'); }); // To unlock user interface interactions //$.uiUnlock(); }); </script> Where and how would I put a Animated loading gif?

i have a javascript to Open a Look up table but it works only if it is clicked twice. What do i do, i want the user to only click once for the lookup page to come up.
I have created a table that allows the user to edit specific cells by clicking on them. Their new entered values set the value on the table. They then should be able to submit a form which sets several hidden inputs equal to the values in the table then passing the information to a php page to process. However, the php page doesn't output anything when it is submitted. This is the form layout.
I have a simple PHP form and to prevent double data submission, once the user has clicked 'submit', I want to disable the submit button using JavaScript. It was recommended in another thread that one could accomplish this using jQuery and the following code:
I use malsups Cycle plugin a lot as it is very versatile, however when I have a pager with a slider and click through to the next slide (whilst current slide is animating) it jolts to the end of the current slide transition before continuing with the next slide transition. Example: [URL]. Ideally, when you click on the next pager link, (before it has finished sliding), it finishes it's animation and scrolls to the next OR slides from it's current point on the current transition to the end of the next slide.
There are tons of lightbox apps out there, but none that I could find that use YUI. I'm sure there are lots of developers out there already using YUI and don't want to have to use another library such as jQuery to get lightbox functionality. I have two demos available from the link below and you can download a zip file of the complete application including the YUI files needed.
Supports 3 modes (LightBox, Overlay and Remote), but many many more configurations...
