I need to write code to prompt the user to save the changes before the user session expires. And this should happen only when the user makes any changes, if he doesnt make any changes, I should not be prompting him. For this I need to check if any fields are modified in the page. I need a generalised code that goes in the header or footer page of the application, so that I dont have to make any changes to the existing 100 pages.

The application works fine but it makes the user enter the answer twice before it brings up the question "Would you like to continue?". I thought the fix would be to just call "myMH.checkAnswer(studentAnswer);" straight from the method in the "appclass" but that didn't fix it I m so lost on this problem. This problem most likely is right in front of my face but don't see it lol. I have another question as well but I think if I get this one figured out first it might answer my other one.

My group is working on a basic document management system that includes four users. staff member, department director, division chief and clerk. The programming language that we used is PHP.when staff member logs-in on his homepage and uploads a file he must choose reviewer from a dropdown menu that consists of dep. director and div. chief.When he clicks the upload button the homepage of who he chose as reviewer should receive a prompt/alert box upon log-in saying "you have a document to review".For example:if he chose division chief as the reviewer when the person logs-in on his homepage a prompt/alert should display that he has something to review.The code for uploading file is already up and working.

Doing web page with ASP/VB.NET. Have text boxes for UI on page. Two command buttons - Submit (for db update) and Cancel. I need the Cancel button to prompt the user to verify cancellation. Need OK/Cancel buttons on alert. If user selects Cancel-no action. If user selects OK then I want the text boxes cleared of user text input and focus returned to first text box. I think this may be the code but do not know how to apply it.
function Clear()
{
var res=window.confirm("Please confirm cancellation-text boxes will be cleared"); [code].....
Is this code valid or invalid for the events I need? How do I set it to fire when user clicks the ASP Cancel button?

When I compile this I get no errors, however when I try to run it, it does not work. What should happen, is an output dialog box should appear saying the total for tickets, total tax, and total for tickets with tax. This is not what happens. This is what I have written: This program will ask for the number of tickets you wish purchase. It will then calculate the total price of the tickets and the 9.5% sales tax.
import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
public class TicketCost {
Constants
static final double TICKET_PRICE = 10.00;
static final double TAX = .095;
public static void main (String [] args) {
Local variables
int Nbr_Tickets = 0;
double Tax = 0;
double Total = 0;
String InputStr;
String outputMsg;
InputStr = JOptionPane.showInputDialog
("Enter the number of tickets to purchase");
Nbr_Tickets = Integer.parseInt(InputStr);
Calculation
Nbr_Tickets = (int)(Nbr_Tickets * TICKET_PRICE);
Tax = Nbr_Tickets * TAX;
Total = Nbr_Tickets + Tax;
Created message
outputMsg = "cost of tickets: $"
+ String.format("%.2f", Nbr_Tickets)
+ "Taxes: $"
+ String.format("%.2f", Tax)
+ "Total cost of tickets to A Beautiful Mind: $"
+ String.format("%.2f", Total);
output message
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,outputMsg,"Total cost of tickets to A beautiful Mind",JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
System.exit(0);
}}
And when I run it this is what I get:
----jGRASP exec: java TicketCost
Exception in thread "main" java.util.IllegalFormatConversionException: f != java.lang.Integer

I am looking for a script that would enable users to rate and review products (ie rate it from 1-10 and leave comments about the product). The script must run on a NT server and be free. I know such a script must exist, but I have searched various script archives with no success. I have been considering hacking out my own using a flat file database, but I don't really have the time and don't want to re-invent the wheel.

I have to integrate FedEx or UPS's Rate Calculator with an eCommerce web site. I have a web site which offers some products for sale. The price of the products is being charged to customer. But now I want to calculate the amount of shipping depending on the postal code in USA and Canada only with FedEx or UPS and add to the total amount. I looked the tools offered by FedEx and UPS, but still I could not integrate with the web site. Even after following the documentation. I want to do like within one window or an pop-up window of browser, but the goal is depending on the postal
code the amount of shipping should be calculated and added to chargeable amount.

I am asked to use JavaScript as part of an intro course on Perl in one of the projects.There are two html frames. The lower frame contains two user forms, one for a set of fields (name, email, comments etc), and the other that I am trying to add so that I can set a refresh rate for the upper frame.When I submit the frame rate as a number, say 5, the upper frame reloads but does not refresh at the rate I indicate.

The code works, its just making the functions work "per" ad. When it refreshes, it changes "all" ads, I want them to refresh at different RATE
function reloadFrames(first, refresh){delay = 0.2; //minutes to delay the refresh
max_refreshes = 3; if (max_refreshes > refresh){refreshed = refresh + 1;setTimeout("reloadFrames(false, refreshed)", delay*60*1000); if (!first) {ads = document.getElementsByName("ad");for(var i=0; i<ads.length; i++) {ads[i].src = ads[i].src;}}}
}
function reloadFrames2(first, refresh){delay = 1; //minutes to delay the refresh
[Code]....
Is this possible to get each iframe to refresh at a different rate, or even combine the functions into one?

I have a mortgage calc that is adding an extra decimal place to my interest rate. To see this in action go to: [URL]
Change the interest rate to 7.5
Click Calculate Payment
Click Create Amortization Chart
On the following screen you'll see a recap of your data and the interest rate will now say 7.55. Same thing happens if you enter 6.2. Next screen shows 6.22/. I've attached the html and js files in a zip.

I have been playing with JavaScript few days now. I have a php script that returns data in XML. I want my Dashboard (html) page to show the response back from my php file. Since this is going to be a Dashboard hence it needs to refresh the content every second hence using JavaScript.
I want to get some guides, tutorials, or how-to for this. Any help would be much appreciated.
Here is what I get from my .php file if I do a POST method to it and define variable "extension=9999" to it code...
How can above be nicely presented in an HTML using JavaScript and how would this query be refreshed and re-POSTED every 1 second?
P.S. Amount of XML data coming back to me is dynamic. So, I don't know how much data I get back. Sometime nothing. Sometime 4 childs. Sometime 10 childs in the XML.

Can someone tell me how to make a javascript that will add a shipping price ($5.00) to any price that is listed as a value for a select menu on multiple drop downs?
<select name="shirt">
<option value="10.00">s-l</option>
<option value="12.00">xl-xxl</option>
</select>
Price: <input type="text" name="total" value="$0.00" /> (would show this without touching the drop down)
Price: <input type="text" name="total" value="$15.00" /> (would show this if selecting s-l)
Price: <input type="text" name="total" value="$17.00" /> (would show this if selecting xl-xxl)
<select name="shorts">
<option value="14.00">s-l</option>
<option value="16.00">xxl-xxl</option>
</select>
Price:
<input type="text" name="total" value="$0.00" /> (would show this without touching the drop down)
Price: <input type="text" name="total" value="$19.00" /> (would show this if selecting s-l)
Price: <input type="text" name="total" value="$21.00" /> (would show this if selecting xl-xxl)

I am using a JavaScript price calculator. Right now it does everything I need except for one thing.
If you look at the "type" field, they can choose either woven or printed. Right now, if they choose "woven" it adds 6 cents to to the total as you can see in this portion of the code:
if (theForm.select.value=="woven") {
priceeach+=0.06;
Rather than 0.06, how do I get it to add a percentage--say 20%
The form is located here: [URL]

I am going to use javascript to calculate a value depending on what the user selects from a dropdown menu.
I have 2 columns in a table and a dropdown menu. The value in the 2nd column is going to be calculated by taking a percentage of the number that is hardcoded in the 1st column.
The user will select an option from the drop down e.g. 10% 20% 30% etc... and the value in the 2nd column will be calculated according to the percentage of the value in the 1st column.

I have divs on a page that are placed in the center with something like
width:100px;height:100px;position:fixed;top:50%;left:50%;margin:-50px, 0, 0, -50px;
I want to animate this div to the bottom left (similar tominimizingeffect on windows)
I am trying to use.animate({
opacity: 0.25,
left: '10px',
bottom: '10px';
height: 'toggle'
}, 5000);
However when I activate this it simply jumps (or glitches) to that position, the opacity and height animate perfectly.

The part that isn't working is emphasised in bold. Basically 3/8 * 100 should result in 37.5 but the result I am getting with the following code is 7934570.3125. How do you calculate this percentage in Javascript?

I am writing a form and doing a bunch of calculations one of which is a percentage based on the value selected. I am returning a correct result for two of the values but for the other two I am not.The 'discount' value is what I am looking for. It should return as 0 for values of 1 but it is doing the math as though it is multiplying by 1. And again for the value of 6 it should be 10% but is taking the value as 4.6 or something.Code is below I've included all of it (sorry) for better ease of understanding the math that is happening:
HTML Code:

I'm working with a style.filter related function.Some of my function appear as ...
Code:
document.getElementById('audio').style.filter = 'progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr=#A8' + c.substring(1) + ',endColorstr=#A8' + c.substring(1) + ')';
Everything is working but I'm trying to replace the "A8" part with a percentage typed in by the viewer.The percentage is simply a non-decimal number between 0 and 100 typed into a box.I know how to grab the value of the box (again, it's 0-100) but how do I convert that number into it's "A8" equivalent?
