The application works fine but it makes the user enter the answer twice before it brings up the question "Would you like to continue?". I thought the fix would be to just call "myMH.checkAnswer(studentAnswer);" straight from the method in the "appclass" but that didn't fix it I m so lost on this problem. This problem most likely is right in front of my face but don't see it lol. I have another question as well but I think if I get this one figured out first it might answer my other one.

Ive put a pop up box in the head of the second page and it asks for email, but how do i make it so if the email is incorrect it will not go onto the second page? at present if i click the link for the second page the box pops up but that is it. I can document.write their response and it comes on the top of the second page, but i want it validated!

Can a random page be loaded without a prior visit to a site?
I have a list of 15 people with a photo and contact information in a table with 3 columns and 5 rows. The issue is that the people near the bottom want a chance to be at the top the first time the page is viewed. It is unlikely that a second visit would happen.
Is this possible to load a random page for a site without it being viewed or logged into before, therefore no cookies will be used.

Can you please point out a few things i'm eager to learn how to Forward User to email provider after he creates his account . Or how can i forward email to URL inside my webpage , this could help me with another ideea i have, again this would have to be filtered @yahoo.com , @hotmail.com etc , to be forwarded to a local URL inside the site depending on what Email Provider they enter .

I have a frameset and one of the frames contains a page that is created on the fly, an
actual word document. I want to have a button in one of the other frames that emails this created page as an email attachment using the email client (outlook or whatever). I created a function as follows:
<script language="JavaScript">
function mailIt()
var page = parent.QandA;
document.write 'mailto: sendmail@example.com?subject=The
document&Attachment='
document.write page;
}
</script>
Which is then called from a button, but it doesnt work! QandA is the
name of the frame that contains the document I want to email as the
attachment.

My group is working on a basic document management system that includes four users. staff member, department director, division chief and clerk. The programming language that we used is PHP.when staff member logs-in on his homepage and uploads a file he must choose reviewer from a dropdown menu that consists of dep. director and div. chief.When he clicks the upload button the homepage of who he chose as reviewer should receive a prompt/alert box upon log-in saying "you have a document to review".For example:if he chose division chief as the reviewer when the person logs-in on his homepage a prompt/alert should display that he has something to review.The code for uploading file is already up and working.

I've got this form on my page that contains a search box and a select box full of employee names. When you type a few letters in the search box it scrolls through the listbox to the first match and then if you click on that name it executes a function. Today though one of my coworkers pointed out that some people would just hit enter inside the search box and he's right about that. So I looked around and found the solution for it, it's the onkeydown event I added to the search box. Weird thing is though when you type a name in the box and hit enter it executes properly and then the page immediately reloads :confused:Without the onkeybown event, hitting Enter still makes the page reload so it's gotta be something about the form.
<form name="people_form" style="margin: 0px">
<input type="text" id="peoplesearch" name="peoplesearch" onkeydown="if (event.keyCode == 13) search_onblur()" onblur="search_onblur()" onkeyup="suggestName();" onfocus="this.value=''" style="margin: 0px 0px 5px 0px; padding: 0px; width: 215px"></input>

Heres my javascript code that will verify email from email input field and check if the checkbox (I agree condition) was checked:
[Code]....
However, this will work fine when calling with a link "javascript:validate('inputForm');" but if I try to prevent users by submitting form with pressing enter I put it in form onSubmit parameter: <form .. onSubmit="javascript:validate('inputForm');"> which will check the forms and submit data (do return) no matter if it matched or no.

this is a simple script, that uses ajax that sends to the server the total amount of time (in seconds) that the visitor was reading or whatever.
var startime=(new Date()).getTime();window.onunload=function(){
var x=(window.ActiveXObject)?new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP'):new XMLHttpRequest();
x.open("GET","count.php?t="+(((new Date()).getTime()-startime)/1000),true);x.send(null)}
that's the javascript...
<?php $f=fopen("visitLength.txt", 'a');fwrite($f, $_REQUEST["t"].";

Last week after much searching, I found the answer to my problem in
this newsgroup. I can't find the thread from which I got my solution,
but I wanted to report back what worked.
When the site visitor fills out the form and submits it, this calls a
rather ordinary asp script like formmail.asp that sends the emails and
displays a "thank you" web page. At the very end of my "thank you" web
page I placed the following:
<script type="text/javascript">
location.href="FileToDownload.exe"
</script>
This causes the file download to get triggered, and asks the user if
they want to save the file. In limited testing this appears to work
fine in both Firefox and IE.
