GOAL:
My end goal is to send a web page (single file) as an attachment (not
embedded) via email to any of the main email clients (Eudora, Outlook, etc).
Users see a single web page attachment and either double click or "view in
browser" in order to view it. (It is an attachment after all)....
When they DO open Internet Explorer (is all I need, not netscape), a single
image appears with some appended text.
CHALLENGE:
My challenge is: I don't believe I can send more than one file via email
because of the potential renaming of currently-existing files (i.e. the
image gets renamed and the webpage points to an older picture, because the
web page was certainly not updated). Also, some email clients, like Eudora,
like to attach the whole path name of an attachment as the file name (so
that C: empabc.jpg becomes CTEMPABC.JPG and the web page no longer knows
what to point to depending upon the email clients).
METHOD OF OPERATION:
So I thought, perhaps there's a way to embed the image DATA into the html
itself and on "onLoad" or some other method, save the temp file
(whatever.jpg) and rewrite the html to point to the IMG file.
THE QUESTION:
How can I do that? (or another way to accomplish the same).
REQUIREMENTS:
Internet Explorer 5 or 5.5 and better, as I use a plugin which requires IE,
not an email client's internal browser, and *not* netscape.
Windows 98se or better.
I'm trying to grab a variable from a URL and dynamically embed it into HTML code. So for instance, if I own the site test.com and I enterideo=bunny.mp4&height=720&width=480",I want the returned page to be an embedded video of bunny.mp4 at the height and width specified. I know the embed code, I just need to know how to parse the URL and write it inside of the HTML.
I've only started looking at RSS Feeds over past couple of days and am wondering if its possible to embed a reader in a web page. What are the basic steps required/Can it all be done through javascript ? I've searched Google but only get converter services etc.
Nothing fancy, however with that in there, the page seems to load twice in IE. It fetches the SSI header, then clears it, then loads the rest of the page 'behind the scenes', then finally displays it.
If I remove the embed, it loads the page bit by bit and you can start reading before the rest of the page is done, which is what is desired for obvious reasons.
Any idea why embed causes this? Works fine in FF etc.
I want to give a code snippet to partnering websites, so that the script on their page draws from a page on my server. I think "quote of the day" type widgets use this.I copied this code from a site and it works for them, but when I switch the url to a php page (containing only text wrapped in a div) on my site, it doesn't work. I realize this might also be a php question, but I didn't want to cross-post. Does it have something to do with the "jscript=1" variable being passed?
I got a page on which on the left side there is a Tree with branches, on the right side of the page i got an tag that shows a pdf file, User can click on tree branches to expand them and can click on the leafs to view different pdf in on the right side of the page...
The problem is that if a user expand several branches the tree grows down and than the user scrolls down the page. to click some leaf of the tree... and by doing the scroll the tag with the pdf becomes invisible (because the user scrolled up)..
how can i make the tag stay allways on top of the page even if the user scrolls down....?
I have a page built in Sharepoint. I need to create a little search box within that page so people can search for names on that same page. It's a page with a lot of text, hence why the search feature is needed.
Im trying to have a click event that replaces an image on the page with a new image that has been selected randomly from an array. I have solved PART of this already (can get the random image to appear).
However, instead of appearing on the page where the old image was, the new image appears in a blank page.
My research indicates that this blank page location-problem is a result of using document.write in the Function. Therefore, I know I need to find a different way to accomplish this, but am failing miserably.
I have been trying for hours and hours and HOURS to figure out proper syntax for accomplishing this via elements, functions, variables and mootools.
A bit of my research:

I am currently writing a CMS and I need a few minor variable values from the YouTube Api. I wish to embed a YouTube video into a page and then extract key information about that video such as:
1. The Title 2. The duration 3. The number of hits
I am writing a small data entry screen that will post the form data to a page and return a message. But i cannot get the Success or Error functions working properly.
Here's the code where strData is the posted querystring of:
I'm not sure whether it should be in a form and using the onsubmit or click of a button.
I'm using Javascript to change an image on a page without reloading the page. The problem is that my images are various widths (but identical heights), yet each image I change it to uses the width of the first image.
I've been searching for a few hours and haven't been able to find a code snippet to see if this is available. I'm attempting to pass text from my website to another website that has a form setup on it. I'd like to fill in the pertinent data for my users on the page that I load for them. I cannot make any changes to the receiving page as it is run by another company. I've pasted some of the code that is available on the receiving form.
// var theForm = document.forms['form1']; if (!theForm) {
I am currently programming Script Adds data to the database but if i want to Shown the data that have been added Requires refresh the page to show the Data that have been added . and I do not want this method.I want to when adding data to show updates as soon as the addition of data. This can be done by Ajax , and An example of this method used Google Gmail.
I am facing some problem with this when i am trying to sent the data in krnlAddComment1.asp page and there is only an insert query exists. after run the query successfully, response.write "...." revert back to me
I would the user of my website to click a link on a page and for some information to display on the page without a reload of the page. This is what I would like to happen in my specific case:The user clicks the name of the cd and the full track list and a small image displays above it, without going to a new page.

I have gotten my script to do exactly what I want it to do with one exception. I have some thumbnail images that people can mouse over and the actual image is 100px by 75px. That is what I use for my thumbnail and they reside in www.website.com/images/thumbs/image1.jpg. I have the large version of the image that resides in www.website.com/images/image1.jpg. Its actual size is 640px by 480. When I mouse over my thumbnail, I don't want the thumbnail to appear for the larger image, I want the large image to appear instead? Let me know if you need ellaboration.
Javascript function Change_Big_One(thumb){ document.getElementById('BigOne').src=thumb.src.replace("_th","")
I have a page HTML. In HTML have 1 button, when click into button that'll appear 1 window. In this window, it's show 1 image and after 5s it will change the other image. I can't do this.
I've search far and wide for an answer, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. (Well, it probably is.)
Consider the following javascript:
var foo = new Image(); foo.src = "http://some.server.com/some_filename.gif";
Now, the browser will retrieve 'some_filename.gif' from some.server.com and put it into the object foo. What I want to do is then subsequently analyze the actual binary data contained inside some_filename.gif. (Specifically, I just need to look at the first few bytes.) Is there any way to do this in just JavaScript?
I'm trying to get the binary data of an image object.
I've found articles to writing binary to be the source of an image, but they don't tell you how to do the reverse. Pretty much, after the page loads I want to do something like.
For those that are curious why I'm doing this its for another project I'm working on where I store the binary data somewhere else after load, but for technical reasons this has to be done client side for if I do it server side I'm not getting the results I need for this project.
Please visit the following page if you want to see the page I am working with. The flower images at the bottom, when clicked, will display the src of that image when clicked in the textbox. However, I want to apply the same function to the manipulated images too, in order to get their data URL's. Currently, the images at the bottom have the following:
Code: How would I go about adding the onclick to the following javascript generated images?
Code: var dragon = new Image(); dragon.src = "images/flower2.png"; var dragon2 = new Image(); dragon2.src = "images/oldtraff2.png"; var dragon3 = new Image(); dragon3.src = "images/trees2.png"; var dragon4 = new Image(); dragon4.src = "images/f12.png"; var dragon5 = new Image(); dragon5.src = "images/nem2.png"; var dragon6 = new Image(); dragon6.src = "images/nl2.png"; var dragon7 = new Image(); dragon7.src = "images/dino2.png"; var dragon8 = new Image(); dragon8.src = "images/ipad2.png"; var dragon9 = new Image(); dragon9.src = "images/tokyo2.png"; var dragon10 = new Image(); dragon10.src = "images/pup2.png";
