Reload Page And Display A Particular Iframe Based On Option Choice?

Aug 2, 2010

What I would like to do is have a page with a dropdown menu, and depending on which option the user chooses from the dropdown, reload the page and display a particular iframe below the dropdown, based on the users choice. Also, a default iframe would load (the one connected to the default choice in the select box). I was trying to make this work with PHP (without having the user having to click a submit button) but I couldn't find a way to make it happen.

How To Truly Embed Image Data Into A Web Page?

Jul 20, 2005

GOAL:
My end goal is to send a web page (single file) as an attachment (not
embedded) via email to any of the main email clients (Eudora, Outlook, etc).
Users see a single web page attachment and either double click or "view in
browser" in order to view it. (It is an attachment after all)....
When they DO open Internet Explorer (is all I need, not netscape), a single
image appears with some appended text.

CHALLENGE:
My challenge is: I don't believe I can send more than one file via email
because of the potential renaming of currently-existing files (i.e. the
image gets renamed and the webpage points to an older picture, because the
web page was certainly not updated). Also, some email clients, like Eudora,
like to attach the whole path name of an attachment as the file name (so
that C: empabc.jpg becomes CTEMPABC.JPG and the web page no longer knows
what to point to depending upon the email clients).

METHOD OF OPERATION:
So I thought, perhaps there's a way to embed the image DATA into the html
itself and on "onLoad" or some other method, save the temp file
(whatever.jpg) and rewrite the html to point to the IMG file.

THE QUESTION:
How can I do that? (or another way to accomplish the same).

REQUIREMENTS:
Internet Explorer 5 or 5.5 and better, as I use a plugin which requires IE,
not an email client's internal browser, and *not* netscape.
Windows 98se or better.

Why Does Embed Make My Page Refresh/load Twice?

May 30, 2006

I have a small iframe (mid-right) with an embedded audio player.

<embed src="slideshow/streetsound.mp3"
width="75" height="25"
autostart="true"
loop="true">

Nothing fancy, however with that in there, the page seems to load twice in
IE. It fetches the SSI header, then clears it, then loads the rest of the
page 'behind the scenes', then finally displays it.

If I remove the embed, it loads the page bit by bit and you can start
reading before the rest of the page is done, which is what is desired for
obvious reasons.

Any idea why embed causes this? Works fine in FF etc.

Embed Code From Linked External Page

Jan 17, 2009

I want to give a code snippet to partnering websites, so that the script on their page draws from a page on my server. I think "quote of the day" type widgets use this.I copied this code from a site and it works for them, but when I switch the url to a php page (containing only text wrapped in a div) on my site, it doesn't work. I realize this might also be a php question, but I didn't want to cross-post. Does it have something to do with the "jscript=1" variable being passed?

Make An <EMBED> Tag Stay Alaways Visible On Top While Scrolling Down The Page

Feb 25, 2009

I got a page on which on the left side there is a Tree with branches, on the right side of the page i got an <EMBED> tag that shows a pdf file, User can click on tree branches to expand them and can click on the leafs to view different pdf in on the right side of the page...

The problem is that if a user expand several branches the tree grows down and than the user scrolls down the page. to click some leaf of the tree... and by doing the scroll the <EMBED> tag with the pdf becomes invisible (because the user scrolled up)..

how can i make the <EMBED> tag stay allways on top of the page even if the user scrolls down....?

Iframe Resizing Each Time New Page Loads In Iframe

Aug 14, 2009

I'd like to resize an iframe into which different (same domain) pages of differing heights are loaded. I can do a first-time resize no problem. It's the subsequent reloads that need to pass back their height to the parent page There seem to be lots of solutions for that around, but few I can see for resizing each time the iframe reloads. One is described here on another board [URL] but unfortunately the test page is no longer around (or indeed the site), so the full code is no longer available there. This one works, almost, for me: [URL] it does resize for me, but not quite sufficiently high each time - about 90% of what is required: [URL] Is there a way to add on sufficient extra margin that scrollbars no longer appear?

Make Whole Page Send The User After Some Seconds To Another Page And Not Only The Iframe And Parent Location?

Jan 10, 2011

I have an webbpage, and in the middle of it there is an iframe to a php site. So i have used this code, so after some seconds the iframe will send the guest to another page. <meta http-equiv="refresh" traget="_top" content="5 url=http://mypage.com"/> But the thing is that i want the WHOLE page to reload, and go to that page after 5 seconds (we can say). With that code, only the iframe are going to another page. Is it possible to make the whole page send the user after some seconds, to another page and not only the iframe?

Go To Next Page - Load The First Page Of A Series Of Pages Into An Iframe When You Click A Link

Aug 15, 2006

1. Load the first page of a series of pages into an iframe when you click a link
2. On each click load the next in order page
3. When last page has loaded if clicked again will start from the beginning.

What I am doing: I am creating a tutorial for a friend who cannot figure out how to use her new rental management program. I could use a manual slide show to have her click for the next image however, there are a LOT of tutorial images which show her what to do at that point. Her program contains a great number of setup screens, report screens etc. This means the slide show would be sitting there loading all these images before it will work. So, I figured, OK make a page with an iframe, and then I could put each image on it's own little page i.e. page1, page2 etc. Place a little button, or a next link, then have the link load the pages into the iframe in order.

Drop-down List Value Redirect To Url Of Choice

Jul 6, 2011

I've checked the boards and was unable to find something that matched the code that I have. The code basically uses radio buttons to populate results to a drop-down list depending on the radio button they choose. I'm having trouble figuring out where and how to add the redirection url for each of the value choices in the drop down. I was told something about using window.location('URL...) and then to populate the location parameter with the array value. Does this mean I have to redo my script or can another piece of code be added on to make it work. How do I alter my existing code?
