there was any premade dropdown menu which opens based on what position you are on the page.
For example, when I'm on the top of the page and hover the mouse over the dropdown menu, the menu opens upward instead of downward because the navigation is mid-screen. But if I was to be more than halfway across the screen and still see the navigation as it was on top of the screen and hover the mouse over it, the dropdown menu opens downward as oppose to up.
I have two divs that are in the same parent div, only one is shown at once. When I toggle the one that is smaller (height-wise), the position of the scroll bar (and hence the user's current location on the page) remains the same. But when I toggle back to the taller div, the scroll bar launches you back up almost to the top of the page.Is there a way I can stop this from happening? I tried return false which i knew wouldn't work. I also looked into scrollTop() but that doesn't seem like it will be of any help since it only returns values and does not set any values?
I'm attaching my php test file but this is a JS problem. When I scroll down in the web page and the meta refresh hits, in Windows Safari and IE6/7/8 browsers, the web page re-positions back to the top. In Opera and FF the page refreshes but it stays where it is. Can someone look at my test script and see why it is not working in IE and Win Safari? My goal is to have the web page not re-position to the top on the auto refresh.
I have been searching and trying out different javascript carousels and found JmyCarousel to be the one that best suits my needs. I made a few changes (I changed the speed, image size, and the scrolling has been set to automatic) and it works almost the way I want it to except for one problem: I can not figure out how to stop the carousel from scrolling on mouseover.I have changed the value evtStop to 'mouseover' but this has not solved the problem. I have no idea what else to change, as I have no knowledge in JavaScript. Here is the html code:
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
I have a rotating banner that cycles through all the images I load in. But I want the banner to stop on the last slide instead of going back to the first slide again.
At the moment the code I'm using to scroll through is:
I have a project where I need a selection of one dropdown menu may affect the select of multiple other dropdown menus on the same page.First, a table is generated, and within each row, it contains a dropdown menu. Assume: Rows A, B, C, etc..., and Dropdown selection: 1, 2, & 3If dropdown in Row A selects 2, then I want the selection of dropdowns in rows B & C to dynamically change to 2.And if in Row C user selects 3, then the selection in dropdowns in rows A & B should dynamically change to 3.
I'm having some difficulty preventing a function from executing. Here's a scenario: I have a drop down list that has a sub menu. When you "mouseover" the menu heading, the sub menu expand and when you "mouseout" the menu heading, the submenu collapse. I also add "mouseover" and "mouseout" listeners to the sub menu. My trouble is how do I prevent the drop down list from collapsing so that I can get to the sub menu. And only collapse when there is a "mouseout" on both the menu heading and the sub menu? How do I prevent a function from executing, from inside another function?
I actually want to make a horizontal drop down menu with a sub menu.As far as I have researched, I think that it can be done by JavaScript. I have searched for some java scripts but they are very long and complex.
That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?
So here is my question : Is there any JavaScript that can be applied for drop down menu exclusively? Which just presents logic of drop down solely?
I have this code for a floating menu - but it starts on an absolute position and then starts to move as you scroll once it reaches a certain distance from the top of the browser, I have seen floating menus that will also stop in a certain spot on the page, even if you continue to scroll the page, can I alter this code to make this menu stop at a certain point on the page?
I'm doing a site and want to have a scrollable menu area so that more links can be added at a later date. I need to know how to do this without resorting to flash as its a HTML only site. The whole thing needs to look as close as possible to the attached GIF.
There will be a pop up menu upon detection of a blank field and I need to stop further execution of the script. How do I achieve that?
<?php if ($email_to == ' ' )?> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> window.alert("Please enter your the to field. Thank you."); </script>
I came across this javascript scrolling text. My problem is :- I need to have a huge big long message/ messages, but after a certain point the scroller stops scrolling and goes back to the beginning so doesnt show every message that I want. I have tried to take out the <nobr> tags but that doesnt work. Is there anyone out there that can have a look at the code below and see if it can be modified to allow multiple lines of messages. Many thanks

This is my second attempt at code to allow the user to view a table by navigating through a page using customised buttons. Although all buttons work on the 'MouseDown', event, the 'MouseUp' is not working. Any ideas? Code:
I'm having trouble using the stop() function. I'm trying to make a dynamic menu using jquery library. This menu is now working pretty correctly but I can't manage the problem of multiple queued animations. My menu is made in two parts. The first one contains buttons. When they're hovered over, the second level of the menu appears just underneath. But when several buttons of the first menu are hovered over, I can't stop the second level to appear and disappear anarchically. Here is an example of code of the second menu :
I'mtryingto put the right code in place to stop event bubbling on my menu script. I have a the following code for the mouseenter event. I can't find where's appropraite to put stopPropagation()
menu_trigger is an array which is cycled through to put the mouseenter event onto the right <th> tags menu_objects is an array linking to the menu which should be shown.
I am very new to this and have just written some code to randomly generate an image on my web page. Each time I test it, a bar at the top of the page comes up saying:
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..."
How do I stop this coming up on other peoples computers, because if they don't click OK, they can't see my images? Is it my script that is causing an issue, or is there a simple fix for this?
Many thanks in advance for your help, and please remeber I am very new to all this, so try to explain in simple terms.
