View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to place a javascript pulldown menu in a layer at the top of my page.
Everything seemed to work great until I noticed the menu always stays visible as you scroll down the page.
How can I make this menu stay put exactly in the layer (yellow bar) and not scrolldown? Code:
there was any premade dropdown menu which opens based on what position you are on the page.
For example, when I'm on the top of the page and hover the mouse over the dropdown menu, the menu opens upward instead of downward because the navigation is mid-screen. But if I was to be more than halfway across the screen and still see the navigation as it was on top of the screen and hover the mouse over it, the dropdown menu opens downward as oppose to up.
Anybody know how to create this effect on mootools? code...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm playing around with forms and wrote a JavaScript
function that loops through all form elements and displays every option
in every select field with an alert for each one.
var els = form.elements;
var l = els.length;
for (var i=0; i<l; i++) // loop through all form elements
{
if (els[i].type.substring(0,6) == 'select')
{
var options = els[i].options;
for (var j=0, len=options.length; j<len; j++)
{
alert(els[i].name + ' option ' + j + ' = "' + options[j].text + '"')
}}}
In the form I am using this results in many alert boxes popping up.
This seems like a very, very basic question, but I've Googled it quite a
bit and can not find an answer. Is there a way to manually abort that
script (other than closing my browser) or do I have to keep clicking OK
until the loop has run it's complete course?
So what im doing is actually in php, but just wanted to know whats the working logic of what im trying to do. I currently have 2 servers(virtual machines). i have a php file in ubuntu server that calls some other files on the windows server and vice versa. as of now, i am able to call the files just fine. the problem im having is the ip changes every time i reboot the machines(duh. so i have to manually go change the ip address every time in my php files for them to find the other server. is there a way that each server gets the ip of the other automatically so i dont have to do it manually?.

So I dont have access to exact id, but atleast I know the id would start with t1.
In my javascript, when enter key is pressed, I want to simulate the effect
of clicking a button.
var mykey;
var posted=false;
if (window.Event){
document.captureEvents(Event.KEYDOWN);
}
document.onkeydown = myKeyDown;
function myKeyDown(e){
if (window.Event){
mykey = e.which;
}
else{
mykey = event.keyCode;
}
//alert(mykey);
var theform;
if (window.navigator.appName.toLowerCase().indexOf("netscape") > -1) {
theform = document.forms["Form1"];
}
else {
theform = document.Form1;
}
if ((mykey==13) && (posted==false) && (theform.btnSend.click))
{
posted=true;
theform.btnSend.click();
}
}
Everything works fine in IE4 to IE6. But NS behaviour is really bizzare.
Thing work as expected in NS7.
In NS6, theform.btnSend.click() does not cause form submission.
In NS4, it complains that theform.btnSend.click() does not exist (despite
having passed the if test that verifies theform.btnSend.click exists).
My javascript quits working when I am rendering the html? (It works perfectly fine if the page is opened from http address directly). I did some research and concluded that "JavaScript is executed on page load", so when I render my html, my JavaScript functions are not automatically called.how should I call the javascript functions manually?

Problem here is on the Mac the transition are jumpy and it seems to flash the first yellow div before sliding up or down. Testing on a PC it will slide down but won't slide up. How can I get the whole browser window to slide up and down with a smooth transition.
im searching for a plugin/code example for text scrolling. I got some text in a <div> if text is longer than for example 300px it gets cut and is scrolling from start to end, stops for a second and then scrolls back, stops and all over, and if its not long enough than 300px then just displays normaly. Something similar to the Song name scrolling inin anyMP3 player.

The problem is that the height of the second level menu results in their being gaps in between each menu item so that as you move your mouse down the second menu items it quickly closes again. scripting novice fix this by telling me which variable I need to change either in the Java script or the CSS files.

View 9 Replies View RelatedTo build a menu block which should be switchable with hide/unhide of the menu items, I'm using .append html. The code idea is this:
[Code]...
As can be seen from above posted code there is a line "<div id="' + menuSlider + '" style="display:none">". Appending that -- AFAIS -- the .append is automatically (????) adding "</div>" which closes the statement. That breaks my idea of the whole concept! The menu part isn't included in the 'menuSlider '. QQ: How to change it -- NOT to have that "</div" added to it??
provide me with code to make a collapsible menu? What I'm looking for is a vertical menu, that will open up the sub-categories upon a mouseover. Clicking on the menu item will bring them to the specific page. Oh, and this might not matter, but I'd prefer if I was able to style the menu to fit with my site theme.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a specific menu using jQuery where i want to toggle a clicked menu item. I used toggleClass to accomplish this. All fine and well, but what i want is that once i click a menu item, the previously clicked item should have the active state/class toggled off.. The menu is variable. (I tried and tried and searched all over the internet, but i cannot find it... spent 5 hours trying to combine various selectors and if/else statements, but it did'nt work.)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using superfish menu jquery plugin, and I'm wondering if someone know how to update plugin that you can decide if sub - sub menus wil be shown on the right (that is in the original) or on the left side of the parent menu.
The problem is, that if the last menu is near the end of the browser, than the sub - sub menu will go off side the browser.
How can I set the menu to automatically expand on mouse rollover instead of click? Here is the code as it stands right now:
$(document).ready(function () {
$('img.menu_class').click(function () {
$('ul.the_menu').slideToggle('medium');
});
});
Second Question: For some reason, the menu is appearing behind a table row when it expands, thus hiding a good portion of the menu. Here it is: [URL]
Try clicking on 'Products & Services', and then clicking on "Centerfire Rifle Suppressors" from the dropdown menu. When it takes you to that category page, click the menu again and you will see that the menu hides behind the <h1> table row.
