I'm attaching my php test file but this is a JS problem. When I scroll down in the web page and the meta refresh hits, in Windows Safari and IE6/7/8 browsers, the web page re-positions back to the top. In Opera and FF the page refreshes but it stays where it is. Can someone look at my test script and see why it is not working in IE and Win Safari? My goal is to have the web page not re-position to the top on the auto refresh.
View 4 RepliesIm fairly new to JQuery and need some help. Googling failed me :o have a web page that initially auto refreshes every 30 secs and has a bunch of checkboxes that are initially unchecked. I am trying to make it so that if at least one of those boxes it checked the page stops auto refreshing (without reloading the page, preferably). Is this at all possible? I am using Perl to generate the html.
My auto refresh is in the header, but im open to sticking it somewhere else, as long as it doesnt create crazy memory consumption that i've read about on these forums:<head

I thought the return false would prevent this but the page scrolls up a bit. What's wrong?
I have two divs that are in the same parent div, only one is shown at once. When I toggle the one that is smaller (height-wise), the position of the scroll bar (and hence the user's current location on the page) remains the same. But when I toggle back to the taller div, the scroll bar launches you back up almost to the top of the page.Is there a way I can stop this from happening? I tried return false which i knew wouldn't work. I also looked into scrollTop() but that doesn't seem like it will be of any help since it only returns values and does not set any values?

I've used the ScrollTo plugin for header images for each topic and I have created a menu to change the content in the div(s) that contain readable content with ajax, so it looks like different pages with headers using the one page.
everything works well, but on browser refresh the page jumps down after the menu and on to the header.

I am trying to make our buy page reload after clicking the Paypal "continue shopping" button in Paypal Website Standards. The pop up Paypal shopping cart window closes after clicking the button but our buy page doesn't reload. It doesn't reload in Safari although it seems to be fine in FF and IE. how to make the page reload in this specific instance only.

I have made a page thats makes an AJAX call to the server gets the time and displays it. In the OPEN method i have set

I have set the last parameter as false as i am expecting a synchronous request so that time displayed should be consistent.
I am using new date() since the browser is caching my request and displaying the same output everytime as i dont know any other alternative.
The alternative so that browser does not cache the results and gives proper output each time.

Everything seemed to work great until I noticed the menu always stays visible as you scroll down the page.

I have been searching and trying out different javascript carousels and found JmyCarousel to be the one that best suits my needs. I made a few changes (I changed the speed, image size, and the scrolling has been set to automatic) and it works almost the way I want it to except for one problem: I can not figure out how to stop the carousel from scrolling on mouseover.I have changed the value evtStop to 'mouseover' but this has not solved the problem. I have a unsorted list that is set to to 260px tall. (just big enough to show 4 lots of information) and then 4 more lots of information. I have it so that it can scroll but I was wondering. Is there away I can make it auto scroll when the selection hits the 4 item? the manual scroll is fine but would like it so if the auto selection scrolls to the 5th item it then auto scrolls the items to show the new ones?

Problem here is on the Mac the transition are jumpy and it seems to flash the first yellow div before sliding up or down. Testing on a PC it will slide down but won't slide up. How can I get the whole browser window to slide up and down with a smooth transition.
So my problem is that i can't send form data in FF without page refresh (though in IE7-8 everything works smoothly).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've implemented many galleries using Cycle, bxSlider, Carousel, etc., but this is the first time I've been asked for the same functionality with vertically-scrolling thumbs. Has anyone seen anything that would fit the bill?
I'm looking for a script which will scroll the thumbs, and show the large version of the current thumb automatically. Clicking on a different thumb will override, and clicking on the arrows will scroll the thumbs, and possibly change the large image shown.
I don't have much by way of spec., so I'm assuming a lot about the way it should function, however I haven't found anything remotely close.
