Stop Select From Refreshing To First Item On Page Refresh
Apr 7, 2010
I have a selection tag that has a list of dates for data collection, user selects a date and the pages refreshes to display data on a map problem is that the user's selected item in the selection is not preserved during the refresh and the selection drop-down refreshes to the first item of the list. How can I preserve the selected item in the drop-down after page refresh?
The code below taken from net works as I need it. onLoad It execute another page from a different page, the only trouble is it keeps on refreshing constantly. How can I stop this??? I'm making it into a function and calling it onLoad.
Here's part of the codes I got from our website. Right now, when someone wants to register on our website, they have to put into the Captcha after they finish all the other information. If the captcha is empty, there would be an alert; if it's wrong, the page would be refreshed, and there would be another alert, and at the same time, all the information would be lost and they have to fill them again. Now the question is, how can I stop the page refreshing itself? All I need is an alert and then you could retype the captcha without losing the other information.
<script type="text/javascript"> function ltrim(stringToTrim) { return stringToTrim.replace(/^s+/,""); } function validateForm() { var okSoFar=true [Code]...

So i need to update formstwith out page refreshing but i cant get it to work with multiple forms on same page.
why my simple javascript to refresh the parent window doesn't work in IE8? When the child window closed, it reopen another new window for the page I want the parent window to refresh and nothing happened on the parent window.How can I make it load the page from parent window instead of a new window ??? it works perfectly in other browsers but not IE.
Code: <script language="JavaScript"> <!-- function rent() {[code].....
When i click on submit button, all the data in form will be inserted into my db. but when i click on refresh the form will be submitted again .. how can i prevent this?
I'm attaching my php test file but this is a JS problem. When I scroll down in the web page and the meta refresh hits, in Windows Safari and IE6/7/8 browsers, the web page re-positions back to the top. In Opera and FF the page refreshes but it stays where it is. Can someone look at my test script and see why it is not working in IE and Win Safari? My goal is to have the web page not re-position to the top on the auto refresh.
I have inherited an image scroller that works perfectly. That said, the PM said the client now wishes that upon refresh or a new landing on that page - the initial image would randomize. I thought it would be cake to fix this. Not so. I have tried Math.random at every conceivable place in the function. I get bumpkis. Here is where I think the problem is . . . if anyone would like to take a crack at this.
Code: // 4. paging function function gotoPage(page) { var dir = page < currentPage ? -1 : 1, n = Math.abs(currentPage - page),
I've used the ScrollTo plugin for header images for each topic and I have created a menu to change the content in the div(s) that contain readable content with ajax, so it looks like different pages with headers using the one page.
everything works well, but on browser refresh the page jumps down after the menu and on to the header.
Would anyone know a script that would deactivate all anchor links in the page so that page onload the page loads as default index.html instead of index.html#some_anchor
Im fairly new to JQuery and need some help. Googling failed me :o have a web page that initially auto refreshes every 30 secs and has a bunch of checkboxes that are initially unchecked. I am trying to make it so that if at least one of those boxes it checked the page stops auto refreshing (without reloading the page, preferably). Is this at all possible? I am using Perl to generate the html.
My auto refresh is in the header, but im open to sticking it somewhere else, as long as it doesnt create crazy memory consumption that i've read about on these forums:<head
what i'm having is to dropdownlists with data from mysql (PHP). One is with manufacturer and other is items. Both data is from the same table, just different fields. I need, when I choose manufacturer, the item list show only these items asociated with choosen manufacturer without page refresh
I have a menu that I have constructed through HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Javascript handles the mouseover and mouseout events to set the background of the menu item/table element with an image. It works great. What my issue is right now is that when the user loads the Home page, I want that to have the background of the item already set. I had a function to do this with a switch clause in a separate javascript file. This function was called immediately (left it outside of any functions so it would execute first). But I'm getting an error because the actual element (a table) to set the background doesn't exist yet.
I have several data items on a webpage which I want to to be able to refresh and sort by clicking on any item. Although I have several items I can sort by, I only want one sort query. Each element has on onclick event. I want to determine which element was clicked by passing its ID as an arguement in the onclick function to the http request.
i am trying to pass text from one select box to another select box. The logic is if 10 are added, no more passing must happen. Also if an item is already added, it mustn't be added again.I am using the for loop to check the existence of an item but it is not working: what am i doing wrong?
Code: function PassSelectValues(){ //pass values from select boxes to select boxes var counter;[code]....
why isn't counter incrementing at all? The alert message box does appear saying item exists but the item gets added anyway.
In a workshop registration system, you can choose 1st choice and 2nd choice workshops. Of course, You can't choose the same workshop for both! How can I implement this with JS?
