Form To Display Automatically 3 Calculated Values?

Oct 25, 2011

1- Need to display three values on the screen as the user fills a form: total, required deposit and final balance. I managed to display the total but I cant make the form to show automatically the two other values (deposit, final balance) unless I ask the user to click on buttons, which is not desirable since $ does not change automatically for deposit and final payment if user clicks on another radio button before sending the form.

2- Need to send to an e-mail the values of total, deposit and final balance, along with the choices the user made (ex: "Quad" and "Med"). I only managed to send the choices, not the totalled values.Here is the code I wrote (for demo purpose, I only put 2 choices vis-a-vis radio buttons):

[CODE]
<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<title>Registration</title>

Are Form Values Automatically Assorted Into An Array When Created

Sep 14, 2010

I have a list of buttons in a javascript hangman game: (studying javascript with a hangman game someone else made)

Code:

<body bgcolor="f4a460">
<form name="board">
<font face=courier>

[code]....

What I'm wondering is if the '.elements[i]' part of the above function automatically refers to the array created by the form. I didn't know that forms could automatically be referred by the elements dom without having a name or an id assigned to it. Does a form, when created, automatically assign its values/buttons into an array that can be referred by DOM?

JavaProcessAlert Function - Processing To Display Automatically

Sep 28, 2010

How to get the JavaProcessAlert() function to have its effect displayed on the page before and while the ActualJavaProcess() is working. I assume it has to go out of the script block and then back in, but have no idea as to how to make it do so automatically. I hope the code is understandable.

Code:
<html><head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function JavaProcessAlert(){
var Update = document.getElementById('DisplayedText');
Update.innerHTML = "Processing";
<!-- Not sure of how to get from here to body and back to ActualJavaProcess()
automatically for "Processing" to display while ActualJavaProcess() functions. -->
}function ActualJavaProcess(){
<!-- Takes time to complete function -->
Update.innerHTML = <!-- Whatever the result is -->;
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<p id="DisplayedText" >Get Result</p>
<p><input value= "Start" onclick="JavaProcessAlert();" type="button"></p></form>
</body></html>

JQuery :: Own Slider Function - Automatically Detects Margin-top CSS Values

Mar 10, 2011

I recently wrote this slider function which automatically detects margin-top CSS values, then offsets the desired div, then simultaneously slides and fades the div in using jQuery's animate() function. It seems to work well with only one div. However if I set it up to slide multiple divs, I am having an issue I cannot figure out.

First, here's the example...[url]

You will have to few the example in Safari or Firefox as I have disabled the javascript in IE using conditional comments. You can view source to see my HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

My issue is this. The #header div slides in great. After a set delay, the #about div slides in. I want each div to slide in separately, one after another. However, when the #about div slides in, it seems to affect the #header element. When the #about div is in motion, I do not want the #header element to move.

Access Calculated Field Name?

Feb 20, 2006

I've got an asp page that creates fields on the page based on database information, so I don't know which fields will be there, but I do know the formula for devising the field names. I'd like to validate them using a javascript function, but I'm not sure how to access their data. So, for
example, I would like to set a variable to: "form.myfield.value", and then access the contents of that field using javascript. Can this be done, and if so, how?

Javascript Access To Calculated Css?

I am looking for a way to troubleshoot css rendering problems. Is there a way to find the calculated styles for any object? I would love to be able to mouse over an element and see all the styles that are causing the element to be where it is, and look the way it does. The elements must "know" this information. Cross browser would be great, but we mainly deal with intranet apps based on IE. Code:

Check For The Existence Of A Variable With A Calculated Name?

Jan 29, 2009

I'm processing a form with numbered fields, but I don't know how many fields there are. Might be 1, might be 20. So I'm iterating through 1-20 and trying the following test:

for(i=1; i<=20; i++) {
if(typeof(eval('document.edit_orderitem_form.field_'+i+'.value')) != 'undefined') {
[doing stuff with the form field here]
}
}

The script quits on that line with "Undefined value" showing up in Safari's error console. I just can't figure out how to eval() the name of a field when it may or may not exist.

Automatically Submitting A Form

Jun 2, 2001

This maybe a simple question, but I've never had to do it before.

How do I automatically submit a form, preferably with JavaScript?

I have a form with an action attribute to where to send data, some hidden fields and some radio buttons with default values, a submit button at the bottom, and a javascript timer that starts on the body onLoad event. The trick is that when the timer runs out, I want the form automatically submitted.

If... Statement - Automatically Display The Sublinks Under The "gallery" Link?

Sep 16, 2011

I have a navigation link ("galleries") that 'onclick' displays a sub-menu of other links (the specific galleries).
This is on the home page of my site.When a user first views the home page, the sub-menu does not display, until they click "galleries".

On other pages of my site, the "galleries" link is one of the options in my navigation. That link takes users back to the home page which is what I want it to do.But what I'm looking for to happen is if the user is directed back to the home page from within another page on my site, I'd like the link on the homepage to automatically display the sublinks under the "gallery" link.This is so that users don't have to click "galleries" twice in order to see the submenu.

For example: If a user is on the 'about me' page, in the navigation there is a 'galleries' link. If they click it, it takes them to the home page. They would then have to click on 'galleries' again on the home page in order to display the sub-menu of individual galleries.I want them to show up immediately, but only when directed back to the home page from within my site. I think I do that with an 'if' statement, but I'm not sure of the syntax.

Selecting The Highest Calculated Average Of Varioous Data Inputs?

Oct 28, 2011

I've written a program which will prompt for a number of cities, Prompt for the name of the city, then prompt for the number of snowfall readings of that city, and then prompt for each of these individual snowfall readings of that city. From this, it adds up each of the individual snowfall readings of that city, and will calculate an average by dividing this figure [the total snowfall] by the total number of readings for that city. This average is used to then classify the city as "not snowy", "mild", or "blizzard". I'm happy to PM my code to anyone willing to help out, as I realise this is a complex structure to visualise perhaps, but I can't post it publicly.

I have a form that has 9 pairs of fields on it. I'd like to change this so that there are only two blank pairs of fields displayed. This way, the user can fill out as many as their heart desires, but those who don't have that much information to provide, aren't confronted with an unnecessarily huge form of blank fields.

Now, The only thing is some of the non-required fields are filled in and some people don't fill them in, so when I import it into excel, the fields move about. What I need to know, is there a condition I can set to have a value written into all the empty fields when it is submitted?

Here is where I am with that so far:
if (app100.address2.value == "") {
doc.write("N/A");
