I'm sure this is really easy, but I can't get it to work
I'm trying to submit a form full of hidden fields automatically when the page loads. I don't have access to the <body> tag, so I'm trying to add the auto submit with javascript. (jqeury)
I've got so far:
Btw this is within a wordpress page.
I've tried the regular "$(document).ready(function() {" as well.
This maybe a simple question, but I've never had to do it before.
How do I automatically submit a form, preferably with JavaScript?
I have a form with an action attribute to where to send data, some hidden fields and some radio buttons with default values, a submit button at the bottom, and a javascript timer that starts on the body onLoad event. The trick is that when the timer runs out, I want the form automatically submitted.
I'm a novice in javascript programming. I need to create a program that automatically sends websites to a free translating site (the part where it asks you to input a url for website translation), and automatically redirect the user to the translated site. I basically just need to know how to send the url to that box, and submit the result, and redirect the user there.
I have some problem while while working on a script..i want to use confirmation() function to confirm submit button and if its true ...then submit form... else keep on same page (thats logic)
Am using php as server scripting..and i wrote..in php
And used a javascript in head
My problem is if i click "OK" or "Cancel" both case the form is automatically submitting ...
I'm handling a form submission event. Is there a way to modifiy the value of a text input within the form before the form is finally submitted? I tried setting the value using, 'val()' - it updated the text field but the value sent with the POST was the original value
I have a form. Upon submit, the data is sent to the server. Under certain conditions, the form is replaced via ajax with a set of radio buttons that offer the user a a choice.I need to access the radio buttons before I submit the form again.Normally I could just access the buttons with getelementbyid but it is not available, presumably because they were generated via ajax.I could submit the form just to access the radio buttons and then submit it again, but I'd like to avoid that.
There is a problem with submitting # from the form. Some content get truncated and some variables disappear after submitting. Take a look at the following code and try to fill both fields with: TEST#TEST#TEST
$('input#submit').click(function() { //check if compulsory forms are filled if ( //checks if forms are filled)
[Code]....
the whole idea is to submit the form in the *else* block if the condition that all compulsory fields are filled (which is checked in the IF block)...but this only works in Firefox. in chrome and IE, the code execution does not go pass the "Processing Form Submission Please Wait" that is shown. The *return true* line never gets executed which is the one that actually send the form...
I have a asp.net web form that I need to validate before submitting. I've tried the AJAX Control Toolkit but I was having problem with multiple ValidationSummary control conflict. So, my next option I can think of is to use jQuery. First of, how do I test to see if a textbox is blank or not? If blank, output a message to a asp.net Label control on the page and stop the web form submission. Second, if the validation succeeds, proceeds to submitting the web form.
I want the "play" button to perform ajaxSubmit (Form plugin) submitting a bunch of fields on the form in which these buttons are contained. This will start a simulation based on the passed in parameters.I want the other bottons to send signals to the server to control the simulation. They don't really need to send parameters. I presume I can just do this with something like jQuery.post().
Here's my problem. All of the buttons in my toolbar just submit the form, presumably because they are buttons declared within the same <form></form>. (I copied the code for these buttons directly from the jQuery UI demo toolbar.)My initial thought was to use the Form plugin somehow detect which button was clicked or something like that, but I can't figure out how to do that.How do I make the play button submit the form, while the other buttons do different jQuery.post() calls? Or is there a better way ofachievingthe result I want?
I'm trying to use an Ajax system to make a double post method submitting.The fact is I want to send the data of the form to a page called Mailing.php (no need to have a response of this page) and in the same time, I want to send the data to another page (external of my website).[code]
I have a submit button on my form. However, I would like to do validation before submitting. I would submit the form values only if the validation has passed. How can I do that? Can I have an example please.
I have the following code: <input type ="text" id="password"/> <input type="text" id="confirmPassword"/><label for="err"></label><input type="submit" value=Save/>
There are several forms on this page and I have absolutely no control over them. The page is provided by a 3rd party and all we can do is add javascript.
The form is a google checkout. I need to halt submission (preventDefault) do some stuff and continue the submittion of that form.
I have a small problem with a form. After I click on a submit button a small animation starts, I would like to submit form after animation but nothing is working. I tried different methods and I also checked html for errors.
Code of function: $(document).ready(function(){ $("#button").click(function() { var productX = $("#first").offset().left; var productY = $("#first").offset().top; var basketX = $("#basket").offset().left+15; var basketY = $("#basket").offset().top+20; var gotoX = basketX - productX; var gotoY = basketY - productY; var newImageWidth = $("#first img").width() / 3; var newImageHeight = $("#first img").height() / 3; $("#first img") ..... .clone() .prependTo("#first") .css({'position' : 'absolute'}) .animate({opacity: 0.9}, 100 ) .animate({opacity: 0.6, marginLeft: gotoX, marginTop: gotoY, width: newImageWidth, height: newImageHeight}, 1200, function(){ $("#detailstext").submit(); //form id }); return false; }); }); I also tried $("form_id").post(0).submit(); but i got error: $("form_id").post is not a function
I have a form with about 10 fields, and the action is sent to a php file which processes the form. Now, I also like to use a Thickbox such that the user can preview the page before actually submitting it to the process.php. That means, I have one submit button and one href, which href links to an iFrame thickbox to preview the page. My problem is that I don't know how to obtain the input values in the iFrame, without user clicking on submit (rather i want to get the values through href). something like the preview on this forum, except I want it on thickbox.
How to send one input data using ajax, I then needed to send a form with multiple inputs. I believe I can't do this with AJAX so have tried to implement it using JQuery.
The problems I am having is that my page is refreshing when I click on submit and the data is not being sent.
I am more than happy to look at other ways to do this if JQuery is not the answer. All I want is a page that doesn't refresh or redirect but does submit a form.
I've got some strange behavior with validation. I'm loading up a form to allow editing of an existing database entry. If I make my changes to the fields, enter in the required "revision comments" and submit, the page does NOT post, it seems to only refresh and empty out all the entries in each of the fields. Now, on the other hand if I open the form to make changes to a database entry and immediately press "Submit" without filling in the revision comments field, it fails validation and tells me to enter comments. Now if I fill in comments to satisfy all the requirements and press submit, it posts and I get my "Successful Entry" confirmation prompt. I think I've narrowed it down to the remote: part of my jQuery. I eliminated by trial-and-error the other pieces of the jQuery code and it seems that when I remove the remote: it does not experience this strange behviour.
jQuery Code: [code] // Form Validation customization $("#Form_business").validate({ rules: {
I've been doing PHP for a couple months, but just came across jquery today. I'm making a wedding-registry-style wishlist site for the holidays, and one of my pages is a list of all the items on your wishlist for you to modify.
Here is my jquery script, which I had learned from a tutorial: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $(".submit1").click(function() { var item_name = $("#item_name").val(); var item_notes = $("#item_notes").val(); var imgid = $("#imgid").val(); var price = $("#item_price").val(); ..... var dataString = 'item_name='+ item_name + '&imgid=' + imgid + '&price=' + price + '&item_notes=' + item_notes;
My forms are structured like so: // PHP WHILE STATEMENT // Retrieve data about item <form> <input type="hidden" name="imgid" id="imgid" value="<?=$imgid?>"> <input name="item_name" type="text" id="item_name" value="<?=$item_name?>" /> <input name="item_notes" type="text" id="item_notes" value="<?=$item_notes?>" /> <input name="item_price" type="text" id="item_price" value="<?=$price?>" /> <input type="image" class="submit1" src="images/edit_item.png" border="0" /> <span class="success" style="display:none">Item updated!</span> </form> // END WHILE STATEMENT
Now, the problem is obviously that when this HTML code gets repeated, all the forms have the same input IDs. I tried adding numbers to the form using php, so it would be something like "item_name1", "item_name2", "item_name3", etc depending on the form, but then I realized I don't know how to pass parameters into the jquery function.
Is there any way to do this? So that it's something like... $(function() { $(".submit1").click(function() { // Find parent form (which would have the ID "1", "2", "3", etc.) // var id = parent form ID // Get info from "item_name1" if form "1" was submitted // Get info from "item_name2" if form "2" was submitted // Etc. var item_name = $("#item_name"+id).val(); var item_notes = $("#item_notes"+id).val(); var imgid = $("#imgid"+id).val(); var price = $("#item_price"+id).val(); // declare datastring // ajax return false; }); });
I'm having trouble changing the font color of my labels ONLY when I stop the form from submitting due to blank fields. I'm not sure whether if just changing my CSS will achieve what I want, or am I going to have to add somethig to my if else statement, or both? I would think I would need to change CSS to :
label.onfocus { color:red; }
but a little confused on what else.

I'm currently creating a simple shoutbox system. The whole shoutbox is in one DIV (shout_box). The DIV shows the 8 latest posts and below that you can enter a new shout / post. I used some script to submit the new post to a PHP page which fetches the data using Post. Then the script displays the message that the post has been added. This works great! However after 5 seconds I want the original DIV contents to reload (the 8 latest posts and the form to add posts. is that possible to do? I think it is, but don't really now where to begin.
I currently got the code below: var dataString = 'message='+message; //alert (dataString);return false; $.ajax({
I'm using a form on a page as a vessel for data, rather than to actually submit it. The reason is that the form is submitted to a service at www.rdbhost.com with it's special JS API, so I extract the data from the form manually and then feed the data to the methods from the provided library.
One of the field is a file. Calling ``.val()`` on it simply gives me the file name, but I need the contents.I've looked around, and found a few plugins that would actually send the file, but that's not what I want.
