I have a submit button on my form. However, I would like to do validation before submitting. I would submit the form values only if the validation has passed. How can I do that? Can I have an example please.

I have a asp.net web form that I need to validate before submitting. I've tried the AJAX Control Toolkit but I was having problem with multiple ValidationSummary control conflict. So, my next option I can think of is to use jQuery. First of, how do I test to see if a textbox is blank or not? If blank, output a message to a asp.net Label control on the page and stop the web form submission. Second, if the validation succeeds, proceeds to submitting the web form.

User clicks a button it opens a lightbox (I am using Fancybox) - a form appears inside the modal. The data is submitted via AJAX and I am trying to validate the form before the form within the lightbox is submitted.

I've a page that has 2 forms. If the user clicks the bottom form the validations appear and everything goes red but the Top form is a required field but it doesn't as it's a separate form. How can I validation form0 and form1 together to show to the user the required fields. Under certain conditions, the form is replaced via ajax with a set of radio buttons that offer the user a a choice.I need to access the radio buttons before I submit the form again.Normally I could just access the buttons with getelementbyid but it is not available, presumably because they were generated via ajax.I could submit the form just to access the radio buttons and then submit it again, but I'd like to avoid that.

the whole idea is to submit the form in the *else* block if the condition that all compulsory fields are filled (which is checked in the IF block)...but this only works in Firefox. in chrome and IE, the code execution does not go pass the "Processing Form Submission Please Wait" that is shown. The *return true* line never gets executed which is the one that actually send the form...

This will start a simulation based on the passed in parameters.I want the other bottons to send signals to the server to control the simulation. They don't really need to send parameters. I presume I can just do this with something like jQuery.post().
Here's my problem. All of the buttons in my toolbar just submit the form, presumably because they are buttons declared within the same <form></form>. (I copied the code for these buttons directly from the jQuery UI demo toolbar.)My initial thought was to use the Form plugin somehow detect which button was clicked or something like that, but I can't figure out how to do that.How do I make the play button submit the form, while the other buttons do different jQuery.post() calls? the user enters his values in 4, 5,25,6,00 or 6,05 etc.(using the , sign)and the max validation only takes integers. How can I still make the max validation with the , sign and float values? The users isn't allowed to submit the form if the value is greater than the max value specifyed.
