Feb 1, 2010I have a asp.net web form that I need to validate before submitting. I've tried the AJAX Control Toolkit but I was having problem with multiple ValidationSummary control conflict. So, my next option I can think of is to use jQuery. First of, how do I test to see if a textbox is blank or not? If blank, output a message to a asp.net Label control on the page and stop the web form submission. Second, if the validation succeeds, proceeds to submitting the web form.

If the user clicks the bottom form the validations appear and everything goes red but the Top form is a required field but it doesn't as it's a separate form. How can I validation form0 and form1 together to show to the user the required fields. When the user clicks form0 it goes over to a pagedLIst, the user returns and textfield gets populated with the product that as selected. So when they hit form1, that value gets passed through as a hiddenfield..

I am having an issue where:
User clicks a button it opens a lightbox (I am using Fancybox) - a form appears inside the modal. The data is submitted via AJAX and I am trying to validate the form before the form within the lightbox is submitted.
My button with the click handler right now does a GET to a server to send the data. Along with some other JavaScript. What is the best way for me to validate my form within a lightbox, and submit after it validates. Sending AJAX.

Validation Won't Stop Code From Submitting?
Jun 25, 2009I've got a simple comment application running on the local Google webapp framework test server, and I'm trying to validate the form w/ Javascript before it gets input to the server and throws an error.
The problem is that the code seems to go through anyway... the Javascript never stops the code from being sent to the server.
I've already checked that Javascript is working on the application, so it must be that my Javascript validation code is bad.
The code is meant to check that the Name field is not empty and that it doesn't have more than 20 characters in it. ("push" is the id for the Submit button, and "name" is the id for the Name input field.)

Have a second form (Form2) to the user update the data registered in form1, and the fields user, email, password is already populated with data from the database, the email field I use the remote validation, and as the field already has been completed and read always says that this email already exists, how do I create a rule or method so that when the field is already filled it not do so validating and validate if it is filled with a new email. Email2 have a hidden field in order to do a test type.
